Whose Testimony do you have ?

Isa.43:10,12; "Therefore you are My witnesses," says the LORD, "that I am God. Isa.44:8 You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.'"

Jehovah Witnesses say they follow Jehovah who is the Father only. That Christian's follow Jesus, but they make it a point to say they follow Jehovah. Yet at a closer examination Jesus said he is the way, and if one wanted to follow Jehovah they would need to follow Jesus.

The Mormons say they have testimony of Joseph Smith. If you pray and feel a burning in the bosom then you know you have the truth. Other groups say the same for their prophet and revelator. William Branham, Benny Hinn etc. Everyone has someone they follow. There are many that have stood in front of Christ, instead of pointing to him and lifting him up.

The Apostles pointed to Jesus as the way. They followed Jesus they preached his death and resurrection. Acts 5 "They did not cease preaching and teaching that Jesus is the Christ." Acts 9:20 Immediately after Paul’s conversion he "Preached Christ in the synagogues that he is the SON OF GOD." 10:36 Peter preached peace through Jesus Christ- he is LORD OF ALL

Rom.16:25" Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, "

Who they followed, is who they preached about.

Rev 1:9 "I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Rev 6:9 "When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held."

Rev 12:11"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." They were killed because of the testimony of Jesus that they held.

Who is he? And the word became flesh and dwelt among us. It was Jesus. The SON of GOD

Rev 20:4 "And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years."

It is those who have the testimony of Jesus who held to his teachings that will rule and reign with him for 1,000 years on paradise earth.

Jesus speaking to the Church Rev 3:8 "I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name." Jehovah Witnesses certainly violate this, their name shows whom they stand for and follow.

Even the 144,000 "Jehovah's Witnesses" in Rev.14:4 follow the lamb, "These are the ones that follow the lamb wherever he goes."They excuse this by saying they are the only ones in the new covenant who have Jesus as their mediator. So they are divided in their organization on who to follow.

As it states in the book of Revelation "the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy." As Jesus pointed out in Jn.5 all of Scripture speaks of him. The prophecies the prophets gave, point to the Son.

1 Jn.5:9: "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son."

Both man and the Father witnessed Jesus as the Son of God.

Jn.5:31-32 Jesus says, "if I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true, there is another who bears witness of me, and I know that the witness which he witnesses of me is true." This he refers to John the baptizer as a witness to the truth. Jn.5:37 "And the Father who sent me has testified of me." The Son of God was sent from heaven to earth to reveal who God is.

Jn.8:16-18"I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me." God the Father testifies who the Son is, and from where he was sent. The testimony of the New Testament is about the Son of God.

Rev.5:6-7 Stood a lamb as though it had been slain"...v.7 "and he (the lamb) came to take the scroll out of the right hand of him who sat upon the throne." The lamb is identified as Jesus, and the one who sits on the throne is the Father. We then see the angels and the creatures and the elders worship both the lamb and the Father. V.13 "Blessing and honor and glory and power be to him who sits upon the throne and to the lamb, forever and ever."

If Christians are to persecuted for the sake of Jehovah's name, why did Jesus tell them   they would be persecuted for his name sake (Jesus') not Jehovah's. Why were they called Christians (Mt 24:9; Mk 13:13; Lk.21:12,17)  It's very clear they followed Christ. Even in the beginning it was called THE WAY named after the one who is the way, the truth and the life.

1 Jn.5:20  "And we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ, this is the true God and ETERNAL LIFE."  If the Son is the true God then doesn’t that make him eternal, possessing eternal life as his intrinsic nature? V.10 tells us of the witness and the testimony God has given us. 1 Jn.5:10-12 "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. Verse 11 tells us "And this is the record, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son." He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." This was the testimony of John the apostle.

He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him." Both deserve the same reverence, obedience, and worship.

When the Pharisees denied his claims they were also denying the Fathers testimony of the son and witness to them.  Every cult repeats the same mistake by rejecting the fathers testimony of the Son, they have no testimony at all.

We are to fix our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of OUR Faith. If you take your eyes off the Lord you will quickly find yourself sinking in the waves of the many voices calling in the wind to follow them.  Every cult that claims they are Christian removes Christ from his rightful place and by doing so remove themselves from Gods loving care.
