After doing cult evangelism for several years we saw the need to form a official ministry here in the Islands to reach out to over ¼ of the adult population that is involved in different cults or false religions.  (ex. 53,000 Mormon's, and 7,000 Jehovah's Witnesses with 35,000 trainees under them). The cults outnumber the church 2 to 1 in our state and are growing rapidly here as well as everywhere else.

As pseudo-Christian groups continue to grow we want to deter the door to door free evangelization that takes place every day, week after week. During Jesus’ time, false prophets and teachers were commonplace.  In Matthew 24, Jesus warned His disciples about deception more than any one thing. He stated many will come in His name in an untruthful manner.  Today, I believe that we are seeing prophecy being fulfilled. As false teaching and prophets are as common as truth. We are living in that time He has forewarned us about, where false teaching is as common as true teaching. We are living in the most perilous yet exciting time in history.

We have taken the initiative to do something that has not been done before in these Islands and we have three main objectives. The first objective is to educate the community via the radio, television, and Internet. We have found that the cults very much dislike publicity.  Public awareness of what these groups really believe prevents many people from joining. By offering free written information and articles over the Internet, we are able to give people the truth based on facts. By sending out written information  we are able to give people an intelligent choice made on the facts from two sides instead of only one side. Our communities are able to recognize counterfeit groups evangelizing in their neighborhoods. We have been very successful equipping believers with the tools and effective ways needed in witnessing to those in cult groups.  As a result, we are seeing many involved in false spirituality abandon their practices and receive Christ.

Second, to alert the church to new movements and activities of these groups. Not only has the mainstreaming of New Age thought solidified in the schools with teaching of relativism, many of its teachings are infiltrating the Church. The Church needs to be able to identify spiritual humanism, occult methods and practices, as new movements are being birthed all the time.  

Third, to better communicate to those in the cult groups.  We need to explain where they differ from historic Christianity and to present the differences in a clear and concise fashion. Motivated by love, we want to communicate that we are their friends, not their enemy. With a heart of compassion and patience, we want to labor to convey the message of grace in Christ and His saving work on the cross.

"And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will." (2 Timothy 2:24-26)

Let Us Reason ministries is involved in discipleship to those who leave the cults. We are very much aware of the transition time of exiting a cult  can be crucial. As one entrances the body of Christ, there are many questions that need to be answered, and many adjustments in ones lifestyle. We want to be sensitive to these specific needs and be there to help. 

We are available to do seminars and group or church teachings to help instruct believers in practical ways to witness. Film presentations printed materials and skits are used to illustrate certain points.

Let Us Reason ministries has been doing outreaches in both TV and Radio for many years. Having a program on local Christian Radio KLHT 1040 AM Sat. mornings at 11. Also on TV on Ch.53 . We have from time to  time been on secular radio and would like to again be able to do this since this is where the mass of the population is.

Those who are in cults are not necessarily evil. Mostly, they are sincere honest people who are our neighbors, and desire to do well in the community. A ministry like this is easy to be misunderstood, even by Christians. We do not harbor any resentment or hatred toward those in other religions or in Christian cults. The blame is not toward the people who are mostly sincere,  following  teachings they think is true. Our challenge is to their leaders, and their teachings that have deceived them into other Gospels, having them think they are serving God, when in fact in many ways they are not. Our hope is that those who visit this site and read the articles will consider honestly what is being said. The message can be cutting at times but can be soothing if truth is pursued. Again it is not done to assault the person's involved, but for them to take a closer  look at what they are being told as the truth. By hearing all the information available on certain teachings we hope they can make a decision,  that they were often unable to before.
