Jesus coming sooner than you think

While as Christians we have been waiting patiently for almost two thousands for the Lord to return from heaven, our wait may soon be over. According to some Jesus can be brought back by technology.

A secretive group called The Second Coming Project is trying to do just that by cloning Jesus. Michael Park of Fox news reports “Members of the group see cloning technology as a chance to literally bring Christ to the modern age.” “I'm hoping it will bring world peace,” said a source within the group, which claims 13 or 14 members from a wide range of religions, hometowns and professions. “Not some Armageddon as a tremendous battle where everyone dies, as some people believe.”

The group located in Berkeley, California hopes a cloned Jesus fetus could be placed in a female volunteer's womb and then carried to term in a totally immaculate conception. The birth is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 25, 2001, and the mother wouldn't necessarily have to be a virgin, the source said.”  “ thus making Anno Domini 2001 into Anno Domini Novi 1, and all calendrical calculations will begin anew.”(Second coming project website).[Well the time has come and gone with no report on this taking place as planned. ]

Well talk about fulfilling scripture. (He will change time and laws). They deny it in certain places and believe they can fulfill it in other places, go figure.

“Once born, the baby Jesus clone would be like any other kid, Savior of Mankind or not. Except that — one hopes — he'd usher in an age of Peace on Earth.”

“We're not planning on raising the child in a lab and inculcating him with beliefs,” the source said.  After all if he is Jesus there will be no need for this right? Imagine a Jesus everyone can like, one that we would all know and can unite with, we can make him and he will bring in the millennium, the golden age of peace. Successful or not I sense a movie.

The group is hoping to obtain a small DNA sample from one of the many Christian relics that may have a piece of Jesus' body or a blood or hair, the Shroud of Turin would be a perfect candidate.

Many scientists are skeptic this could be done, however science is making great leaps in biotechnology and was is presently impossible (some think it is possible already) will soon not be.

This gives new meaning to many will come in his name.  How can anyone even ones own DNA become another Jesus Christ when Christianity hold he is God in the flesh, the only Son of God?

“Jesus Christ, as prophesied in the Bible, in time for the 2,000th anniversary of his birth. Our intention is to clone Jesus, utilizing techniques pioneered at the Roslin Institute in Scotland, by taking an incorrupt cell from one of the many Holy Relics of Jesus' blood and body that are preserved in churches throughout the world, extracting its DNA, and inserting into an unfertilized human egg (oocyte), through the now-proven biological process called nuclear transfer. The fertilized egg, now the zygote of Jesus Christ, will be implanted into the womb of a young virginal woman (who has volunteered of her own accord), who will then bring the baby Jesus to term in a second Virgin Birth.” [Jesus was actually born anyhwere from 4-7 BC. so they missed his 2,000th birthday].

Wow! Who would have the privileged to be the 2nd Mary, in a technological virgin conception! Who would have thought this is what Jesus meant.

Lets pause for a moment to think about what is to take place. If the shroud truly is the burial cloth it would contain blood (or any other object that he may have touched at his death). But when cloned it would only be the human shell because according to the Bible it was God who came only once in human flesh and now is in heaven with that same body He rose from the dead. So who would inhabit the new body cloned?

I first heard of this idea specifically mentioned on the Art Bell show when he was interviewing the now late Malachi Martin and Martin mentioned that if Jesus could be cloned via the shroud it would be the 2nd coming, so this is not a isolated view.

The Second Coming Project states on the website “No longer can we rely on hope and prayer, waiting around futilely for Jesus to return. We have the technology to bring him back right now: there is no reason, moral, legal or Biblical, not to take advantage of it.”

“IN ORDER TO SAVE THE WORLD FROM SIN, WE MUST CLONE JESUS TO INITIATE THE SECOND COMING OF THE CHRIST.”

They appeal to all human logic and set the hope to fertilize Jesus’ zygote no later than April of 2001 so the baby can be born on  the predicted date of Dec.25, after all that’s his accepted birthday (don’t want to mess with that). We must clone! Dopes God depend on mankind’s technology to come back a second time? He certainly didn’t need it the first time.

Where is the Scriptural basis for this? They say ‘“scoffers also continue to mock the idea saying, “‘Where is the promise of His coming?”’
“There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of His Coming? For since the fathers died, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2nd Peter 3:3-4)

We can rest assured that “Heaven and earth will not pass till all things be fulfilled,” including the Promise of the Second coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

One scripture they forget is that He comes as a thief when you least expect it, not as a planned clandestine repeat of the first event.

‘“But should we wait around passively for some miracle to happen? Didn't God give us brains to use as best we can? Didn't Jesus command us to take up the sword? Yes, the Second Coming will happen, because we will MAKE IT HAPPEN. This is the message of the Bible: that Man is responsible for his own salvation. Since all men are by their very nature sinners, the only way to do this is through Jesus Christ. But where is Jesus? We're not satisfied with evasive answers like, “Jesus is in our hearts,” or “Jesus is everywhere.” Meaningless statements like that are meant to reassure children and the ignorant. We want concrete action, and we want it now. We need Jesus in the flesh, to save the world from sin. Christians will wait around FOREVER for Jesus to return unless we take matter into our own hands and bring him back ourselves!”’

Which bible are they reading? Is it one prepared for this new Jesus that they want to have! My bible says no such thing. It tells us to watch and wait, not take things in our own hands through technology.

They do have some scripture to prove their techno-spiritual prophetic position, lets look at their biblical case. “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is my body.' Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:26-28)

Eliminating some pagan ritual and along with cannibalism they think: “ He was giving a clue to later generations. Honor, protect and preserve my body and blood, he was saying, for someday, far in the future, with it you will be able to save the world. How? Through unspecified magical or supernatural means? Obviously not. Through knowledge given to us by God: the knowledge of CLONING, which we can use to BRING JESUS BACK, because the faithful have preserved parts of his body and blood for all these centuries!”

They even state Jesus was very explicit about the necessity of cloning in the book of Matthew: “It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” (Matthew 5:30)
“He will cut him to pieces.” (Matthew 24:50)
“If someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.” Luke 16:30
Paul knew too: here he tells us that Christ's blood is the key: “In him we have redemption through his blood.” (Ephesians 1:7)

This sounds like a influence from the Jesus seminar for this interpretation. First this is not the same as coming back from the dead since the body is not here. Second the cup is not where they are taking the blood from since it contained wine not his real blood. Third Jesus is talking about our body going hell not his. Fourth if someone comes back from the dead they will repent is ripped from its context and not the whole Scripture. As with many aberrant groups that take a single scripture out of the context of thought it was written in they want to fit this project into their own manmade theology. This is a discussion Jesus is telling about the rich man with father Abraham. Abraham’s answer is “If they do not HEAR Moses and the prophets, NEITHER will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.” In other words it says the very opposite of what they make it to say. And I propose that this project will have the same affect, the very opposite of what Jesus said about himself, but fits perfectly for another.

Jesus clearly stated how he would come back he would come back the same way he left, via the sky (and not in some airplane or UFO) Acts 1:1.1

Jesus said to look up for redemption draws near, up as he stated in Jn.14-- He comes from heaven to take his Church to be with Him in his Fathers house in heaven (Jn.14). No matter how long we need to wait, this is the true event and anything else is counterfeit.

Maybe those in this project need to believe in the real Jesus before they go to work on a false Jesus presenting him as the real thing. This may be more dangerous than tinkering with a clone.

This is certainly one for the new prophets. They all missed this in their predictions. However all the false prophets may soon have a leader they can follow enthusiastically.

We can understand where they are really coming from as they even maintain Edgar Cayce was accurate. That “the day of reckoning” his prediction of Armageddon in 1999, followed by a new age and the Second Coming of Christ.
This Armageddon of 1999 has occurred, but not in flashy ways advertised in the morning paper. They attribute it to” The rise of the robotic computer culture” and that  “Cayce saw the Second Coming of Christ” via  “the cloning of Jesus!” Imaginations can run wild and reinterpret waht others meant

They write, “Do not disobey the Bible. Send your contribution to The Second Coming Project today!” I say send them Bibles with the Scriptures underlined so they can be saved, forgiven of their sins in the way Jesus taught and one day meet the real Jesus as a freind and not in judgement.

What a perfect set up for the anti Christ. It wouldn’t matter if the body cloned is from the authentic blood of Jesus, just as long as people think it is.  The Bahais can finally have their way. Actually there are numerous religions that would look forward to just this kind of an event to have the pendulum swing toward world peace. The Christians (fundamentalists) would be the only ones who would not accept this “new “ Jesus.

Whether this is all hype, hoax or the real thing it certainly makes one think what is now possible in science can be used to deceive the masses. Despite whatever we do, it will all happen just as the Scripture says it will because God is God and man will be man.

I have written a letter and finally received a  response that really said nothing about by inquiry.

As an addditional note on September 02, 2001 in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, an article was on the Raelian movements clonaid program which has proven to be more of reality than the Jesus project. Brigitte Boisselier is a bishop part of the Raelian movement that believes that Jesus was cloned; that human beings -- and the resurrection of Christ -- are the result of an alien cloning experiment.

Boisselier founded Clonaid, with the religion's leader, Claude Vorilhon. Vorilhon changed his name to Rael after aliens revealed to him the origin of the human race during a UFO trip in 1973

The company funded by private investors that runs hidden labs scattered around the world. She refuses to disclose any lab locations. There are eight scientists working in Clonaid labs in the United States and elsewhere. although the most active labs are located outside the United States.

The Clonaid Web site says it will charge "as low as $200,000" for their services. Boisselier says Cloning is more than sound science, it's a human right.

Vorilhon says "Once we can clone exact replicas of ourselves, the next step will be to transfer our memory and personality into our newly cloned brains, which will allow us to truly live forever,"         ( Raelian Web site.)

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a bill that bans all forms of human cloning yet the bill is waiting to be approved by the Senate before it becomes law. While this may become outlawed in the US, many other countries are open to this type of experimentation for monetary gain. It is just a matter of time before the first human is cloned succesfully, if it has not already occurred.
