In light of the declaration of war because of the World Trade tower attack, we find America indeed has a spiritual side to her life. People are calling out to God, praying to God. But the question we need to ask before we go into a war and invoke God’s blessing in protection is, which God are we to pray to? I have seen the Jews, Christians, Muslims, pagans and other assorted religions all stand together offering prayers on the same platform. Have we become like the Greeks on Mars Hill that have a representative (statue) for each God and hope that one will hear us! Or are we moving toward the ultimate goal, the concept that he is the same God of all. That we are in unity and the common enemy is now terrorism? Terrorism itself is not the enemy, which I will shortly explain. In my opinion, I don’t think we should be praying with them but praying for them; we should be witnessing to them with the gospel, not accept them as if their God is the same as our God. We have Oprah, whose God is self, leading the American people in prayer and who tells us how all the dead from the World Trade Center became angels. And she is commended in preaching her new age slop. Where is our repentance in turning to the true God and not the one of our own imagination? 2 John 10,11 “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed. For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” We are receiving those who have teaching contrary to Christ. We have a number of new challenges on the table before us; one is unity with all religions. This attack is propelling us toward a one world coalition and system. With talk of a national ID card on the table, with acceptance of every religious persuasion being valid under the banner of America. I’m all for tolerance and we should be tolerant on those things that deserve our tolerance. While we can respect people's choice of their beliefs we should not be giving wings to them, and helping them fly. In the day of testing many hearts will be revealed A few weeks before the terrorists bombing a friend and I attended a meeting here in Hawaii as representatives from the different religions were discussing Hawaii hosting the parliament of world religions. The coordinator who is supposed to be a Christian had no problem with the speaker saying that spirit is in all things. I asked the coordinator what are you going to do when a despot, a Hitler appears are you going to sit down at the table to discuss with him? This is why spiritual liberalism will never work; they deny the reality and destruction caused by evil, and they have no way to deal with it or to stop it. Why are Christians praying along with other false religions Gods? Those of you who participate and endorsed this and claim to be Christians should be ashamed in endorsing them. You have become traitors to Christ and part of the apostasy. This can’t be excused by saying this is love. It is not love, love is found in truth. We are to expose the evil works of darkness and have no fellowship with them. We have moved from unity with the liberals and non-Trinitarians to now having unity with false religions, all because of the attack. Jesus is not the head of the United States or any nation, he is the head of the church, are we listening to the head? Do we remember what Jesus said? He is the only way to God. Do we believe it? We now have enemies without and enemies within. Spiritual pluralism is one of the enemies within. It’s time to stand up for Jesus, or we will be sitting down or without him. We have tough choices to make. From where did this sudden growth of unity come from? The Babel effect has always been with us, but the seeds are now sprouting out of the ashes of two towers. We are literally watching the Bible prophecy of Rev.17 growing before our very eyes. We are witnessing one of the most obvious signs of the last days, unity by forsaking the truth. Condoning this united religious front by participating in it without saying anything contrary makes one complicit in this matter. Their silence speaks loud to God. Why do the work of false unity for them? Isaiah 59:14 “Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the street, and uprightness cannot enter.” Spiritual relativism does not help anyone-- it harms everyone who is involved. What do these ecumenists want us to do, just hold hands with all the religions and sing kumbayah! This becomes traitorous and part of the apostasy. Have we this much compromise in America's churches. Many preachers are cowards who care more about pleasing the people than God. In the past they did not talk about sin or repentance, now they are silent about the issues that we are confronted with. They gloss over it, ignore it making it seem less serious and minimal in affecting our daily lives. Maybe it will go away. So the Church continues on its downward spiral course because they are few that stand in the gap to tell us the truth. Thank God for the few that still have a backbone and tell it like it is, from the Bible, the book of Truth. We are to be salt. Have you ever had a box of salt sit on the shelf and humidity got in it? When it comes time to use it, it is all clumped together; it can’t be sprinkled. This is what happens from it not being used. We have an opportunity hear while hearts are ripped open to deliver the gospel and impact our nation. Are we going to be salt that is clumped together and useless, or allow ourselves to be sprinkled? All I see is Islam advertised everywhere, it has become a podium for the Muslims to teach everyone what they believe. You have got to be kidding--I don’t want to hear this. The Muslims do not worship the same God, anymore than anyone else who denies Jesus Christ as God’s only Son. I can go into all the religions represented and prove it is not the same God, but lets just concentrate on Islam. Islam is emphatic on this point, the Quaran teaches” So believe in Allah and His messengers and say not 'Three' - Cease! (It is better for you!) - Allah is only one God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son....” A Muslims confession is that there is only one true God and that Muhammad is His only true prophet, they view Christians as blasphemers for proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Sura 43:59 states “They are unbelievers who say God is Messiah, Mary’s son.” “ Warn those who say, `God has taken to Himself a son'. . . a monstrous word it is, issuing out of their mouths; they say nothing but a lie.” (Arberry, Interpreted p. 316) So this is what those who call themselves Christians unite with! Sura 43:59 asserts: “Jesus was no more than a mortal whom [Allah] favored and made an example to the Israelites. I guess liberal Christians will accept anything anyone says in the name of peace, even those who deny the Lord! Sura 19:20,34 Jesus praised his birth and then said, “I am the servant of Allah.” And Allah teaches, “It is not for God to take a son unto Him?” This is the Quaran but the Bible has something quite different to say. II Jn.1:9 “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.” Every Christian should read I John 2:22-23. “He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” Islam says Allah has no son, Islam does not call Allah Father so this is a denial of both the Father and the Son. This becomes a denial of Christianity and the message of the gospel. God sent His Son to die for sins, and He is the only way. Those who say they do not need Christ’s death on the cross to forgive them of their sin do not understand what sin is, nor do they know how holy God is. We as Christians should have this knowledge. Do we have to learn the lesson of compromise like Israel did? As C.S. Lewis stated, no combination of rotten eggs will ever make an omelet. We need the fear of the Lord, if we have the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom we won’t conciliate in ecumenical gatherings. Maybe God will bring America to fear him as God. Americas has had two different reactions, people are either going to church, synagogues and mosques. Others are abandoning all restraints with a philosophy of eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die. Americans love religion having a form of godliness, but we deny the power thereof (2 Timothy 3). Many make a profession of faith in Christ but the Christ they worship is one they have made in their own image. They have transferred all their selfish wants into doctrines to justify how they live and can still call themselves Christians. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Whatever righteousness America as a nation once had, we no longer have. We are now rallying around an image, a symbol called the flag, forgetting what it represents--one nation under God. Again the question comes up, which God? We have become proud, and God says that pride goes before a fall. Let's take a reality check here. For the most part Americans live a sinful lifestyle, we seek pleasure before we seek God, we seek money and anything that can replace Him. “In God We Trust” is still on our currency, but is it God we trust? Or what it is on? The ACLU has been silent for weeks and finally said something after the terrorist attack. They have brought a complaint against 4 schools in California, Oklahoma, Indiana, and New Jersey (surely the list will grow), that have used a sign with “God Bless America.” They are demanding them to remove the words God Bless America from their signs, because it’s hurtful and divisive and a violation of the constitution. Where were they when congress sang these words in song? No complaints for them. I guess they only have enough muscle for those they can push around. As we go into war we need to look at ourselves. We hear: We will win- but we took prayer out of our schools! We will win- but we have forbidden for people to petition God at graduation and sport games. We will win- but we kill about 6,000 of our own each and every day by abortion! We will win- but just as many people divorce as marry resulting in broken families. We will win-but the liberals who brought us into this situation want us to forget and to bring us back into our slumber instead of our becoming sober and vigilant Reality check! We are going to war. “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD” (Jeremiah 17:5). We need to take stock in what we are doing. If we are going to fight evil should we not try to purge the evil from ourselves first? Should we not take the log out of our own eye before we operate on the speck in our brothers? REPENTANCE is the key word for each one of us, and America. Terrorism is not the enemy. But it is being used by the real enemy, militant Islam. That is, those who interpret the Qur'an in the ancient way, literally. The fact is that well over 90% of the terrorist acts are from those who practice Islam. Now when one says this it becomes either racial profiling or religious prejudice in our politically and spiritually correct environment. Would this have gone on in the Second World War when Hitler’s Germany became Natzi Germany? It is simply identifying who the enemy who wants to vanquish us is. So this is a war of ideology and religion, exactly as it is being represented from the other side. We need to go into this with both eyes open; we need to pray others will see as well. Bryant Gumbel recently interviewed Billy Graham's daughter Anne Graham Lotz who had just the right thing to say. Gumbel asked: “Why didn't God stop this [terrorism/destruction] or do something about this?” Anne Graham Lotz responded: “For years we have told God we didn't want Him in our schools. We didn't want Him in our government and we didn't want Him in our finances. God was being a perfect gentleman in doing just what we asked Him to do. We need to make up our minds - do we want God or do we not want Him. We cannot just ask Him in when disaster strikes.” Bryant Gumbel was silent. This is America’s choice, each one of us as we stand at the crossroads, which God will we choose?
