RETURN OF THE GOD/MEN

There seems to be a lot of confusion of who is God not only from those we would expect it from such as the Mormons, but also your favorite TV evangelists. Loose lips sink more than ships, it will sink you away from Christ.

Rodney Howard Browne says "The Holy Spirit is the one that gives God the characteristic of being omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent" Is this true? Is God  in all the persons not omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent?

LDS Apostle James Talmage stated a similar teaching, that neither God the Father, nor "any actual person of any one member of the Godhead can be physically present in more than one place at one time" (The Articles of Faith, pg. 39).

The J.W’s seem to agree "God being an individual, a person with a spirit body, has a place where he resides, and so he could not be at any other place at the same time." (WT 2/15/1981 p.6)

J.W's, "Some would have God omnipresent or as a Principle without a body or an organism. But not so. Jehovah God as a person has a body and a location, even as indicated by Jesus' words: "I came out from the Father and...am going my way to the Father." (Awake!, 3/8/63, pp. 27,28)

The Holy Spirit

The Moonies, The Holy Spirit,…"appears feminine, masculine and impersonal… like God himself. .is invisible and incorporeal- a bright light or a field of magnetic energy. (Unification Theology p.201-202)

"The anointing of God as wonderful as it is, is electricity ... it is tangible, it can be felt, just as electricity is tangible so is the anointing ... Not only is it tangible, it's transferable, you can store it up and you can give it away." "it is tangible. It can be felt. Just as electricity is tangible, so is the anointing." (Rodney H. Brown Carpenters home church)

(Mormon Doctrine, pp. 752-53). "'The Spirit of God which emanates from Deity may be likened to electricity,... which fills the earth and the air, and is everywhere present." Uncanny, they promote a Mormon teaching of the Spirit. This is the unity we've all heard about.wpe3.jpg (3543 bytes)

Is Christ God on earth ?

Rodney Browne "Nothing Jesus did was because He was the Son of God. The Bible says He laid aside His royal robes of Deity and when He walked on earth He did so as a Prophet under the Abrahamic Covenant."

Kenneth Copeland (through whom Jesus allegedly delivered the following prophecy): "They Me [Jesus] for claiming that I was God. But I didn't claim I was God; I just claimed I walked with Him (the Father] and that He was in Me." ("Take Time to Pray," Believer's Voice of Victory 15,  February 1987)

The cults have departed from the truth as well, but from them we should expect this kind of mockery.

"Even Almighty God cannot experience the values of love, life, and His ideal when He is alone. That is why God created His object, His image, man and woman...So man and woman together are the visible form of God, and God is the invisible form of man and woman...Human being is incarnate God...So man and woman, the object of God, is as important in value as God Himself" (.Sun yung Moon)

"God is the father of Adam and Eve, and naturally He must have some resemblance to them... Why did God create human beings? God wanted to assume tangible form and the day Adam and Eve were born was almost like the day of God's own birth. As Adam and Eve grew to completion, God spiritually grew into a greater fulfillment together with them. God and his children were one and the same person actually..." (Sun Myung Moon)

TBN president Paul Crouch put it, "I am a little god! Critics, be gone!" (Paul Crouch, Praise the Lord program - TBN July 7, 1986).

Kenneth Copeland declares "You don’t have a god in you, you are one," (Kenneth Copeland, The Force of Love , 1987, audiotape #02-0028, side 1.)

Benny Hinn pronounces, "I am a ‘little messiah’ walking on earth,"(Benny Hinn, Praise-a-Thon program on TBN (November 6, 1990).

Charles Capps "God said, Let us make man in our image after our likeness. The word likeness in the original Hebrew means an exact duplication in kind...Adam was an exact duplication of Gods kind."(authority in three worlds pp.15-16)

God and his children were one and the same person actually..." Sung Myung Moon

Copeland speaking of Adam "his body and Adams were the exactly the same size." (Holy bible K. Copeland Reference edition p.45)

K. Copeland speaking of God " A being that stands somewhere around 6-2 , 6-3 that weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple of hundred pounds or a little better, has a span of 9 inches across (relating to his own hand span) (Spirit, soul and a Body 1985 audio # 01-0601 side 1Kenneth Copeland, Spirit, Soul and Body 1, 1985. )

THE MORMONS

"First, we believe that God is a being with a body in form like man's; that he possesses body, parts and passions; that in a word, God is an exalted, perfected man" {Roberts conference of the Mutual Improvement Associations of the Salt Lake Stake of Zion, August 18,1901, published in both the Deseret News and the Improvement Era}

Jerry Savelle continues in his mentors footsteps nine inches. So, I know He’s bigger than me, thank God. Amen? But He’s not some great, big, old thing that couldn’t come through the door there and, you know, when He sat down, would fill every seat in the house. I don’t serve the Glob." (Jerry Savelle, Framing Your World with the Word of God, Part 2 (: Jerry Savelle Evangelistic Association, Inc..), audiotape #SS-36, side 1.)

Morris Cerullo says, "As I lay there on the floor in this condition, my spirit was taken out of my body and the next thing I knew, I was in the heavens…Suddenly, in front of this tremendous multitude of people, the glory of God appeared. The Form that I saw was about the height of a man six feet tall, maybe a little taller, and twice as broad as a human body with no distinguishing features such as eyes, nose, or mouth." (Morris Cerullo, The Miracle Book,  Cerullo Word Evangelism, Inc., 1984)

Consider this statement by Kenneth Copeland: "[Adam] was the copy, looked just like [God]. If you stood Adam upside God, they look just exactly alike. If you stood Jesus and Adam side-by-side, they would look and sound exactly alike." (Kenneth Copeland, Authority of the Believer IV (Fort Worth, TX: Kenneth Copeland Ministries, 1987), audiotape #01-0304, side 1.777

The Mormon Church has been teaching these doctrines for years. "I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form- like yourselves, in all the person, image and very form as a man." (J.Smith History of the Church vol.6 p.305) "Some would have us believe that God is present everywhere. It is not so." (JOD 6:345)

"If god possesses a form, that form, is of necessity of definite proportions and therefore of limited extension and space. It is impossible for him to occupy at one time more than one space of such limits. (James E. Talmage Articles of faith p.43)

Mormon  author Stephen E. Robinson, referring to the Faith teachers, says: "Now, in fact, the Latter-day Saints would not agree with the doctrine of deification as understood by most of these evangelists, for in the LDS view we receive the full divine inheritance only through the atonement of Christ and only after a glorious resurrection." (Stephen E. Robinson, Are Mormons Christians? Salt Lake City, UT: Bookcraft, 1991 63.)

The Mormons see the agreement with their theology, remember they had it first by their prophets now its passed on to our TV prophets.

Benny Hinn said, "God came from heaven, became a man, made man into little gods, went back to heaven as a man. He faces the Father as a man. I face devils as the son of God...Quit your nonsense! What else are you? If you say, I am, you’re saying I’m a part of Him, right? Is he God? Are you His offspring? Are you His children? You can’t be human! You can’t! You can’t! God didn’t give birth to flesh…You said, "Well, that’s heresy." No, that’s your crazy brain saying that." (Benny Hinn, Our Position in Christ #2—The Word Made Flesh (Orlando: Orlando Christian Center, 1991), videotape #255.

How do you identify this "This spirit-man within me is a God-man. Say after me, he’s born of heaven, he’s a super-being…Say I’m born of heaven - God-man. I’m a God-man. I’m a sample of Jesus. I’m a super being. Say it! Say it! Who’s a super being? I walk in the realm of the supernatural. Get the spirit-man renewed…when he’s strong, he’ll hold off sickness…you want to prosper? Money will be falling on you from left, right and center. God will begin to prosper you, for money always follows righteousness…Say after me, I hold my destiny."( "Joel’s Army," Jewel van der Merwe, Discernment Ministries)

Charles Penrose First Counselor to Mormon President Heber J. Grant, said, "Mormonism does not tend to debase God to the level of man, but to exalt man to the perfection of God" (Gospel Through the Ages, pg.107).

LDS Apostle Bruce McConkie, "Thus those who gain eternal life receive exaltation ... They are gods." (Mormon Doctrine, pg. 237).

Copeland "Alright, are we gods? We are a class of gods." (Praise the Lord, TBN, 2/5/1986)

Copeland "When I read in the Bible where He says I AM, I just smile and say, 'Yes, I AM too.'" (Believer's Voice of Victory Broadcast, 7/9/1987)

Morris Cerullo declares loudly, "Did you know that from the beginning of time the whole purpose of God was to reproduce Himself?…Who are you? Come on, who are you? Come on, say it: ‘Sons of God!’ Come on, say it! And what does work inside us, brother, is that manifestation of the expression of all that God is and all that God has. And when we stand up here, brother, you’re not looking at Morris Cerullo; you’re looking at God. You’re looking at Jesus." (Morris Cerullo, The Endtime Manifestation of the Sons of God, (San Diego: Morris Cerullo World Evangelism, n.d.), audiotape 1, sides1 & 2.

The ultimate evil is to call oneself God The ultimate evil is to call oneself God (big or small) this is the doctrine of the anti Christ and part of the mystery of iniquity now working in the earth.

II Thess. 2:3-4: "Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God."

K. Copeland "Gods reason for creating Adam was his desire to reproduce himself." I mean a reproduction of himself. And in the garden of Eden he did just that. He was not a little like God, he was not almost like God, he was not subordinate to God even…Adam was as much like God as you can get, just the same as Jesus . Adam in the Garden of Eden was God manifested in the flesh." (Following the faith of Abraham #01-3001 Audio side 1)

This sounds to similar to Brigham youngs statement "Adam is our father and God."       ( Brigham Young, Deseret News, 6/16/1873) "when our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body and brought Eve,… He is our father and our God and the Only god with whom we have to do. (Brigham Young J & D vol.1 p.50)

K.Copeland says earth is all a copy of the mother planet. Where God Lives, he made a little one just like his and put us on it." (K.Copeland Following the faith of Abraham 1989 audio tape #01-3001 side 1)

Mormonism teaches that God (Heavenly Father Elohim) lives on a distant planet that orbits a huge star called Kolob with one or more Goddess wives (Heavenly Mother). Before coming to this earth, all humans were begotten by our heavenly parents and were born with spirit bodies (Mormon Doctrine p. 428, 516-17).

Benny Hinn agrees somewhat "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost—three separate individuals, one in essence, one in work—and, may I add, each one of them possess His own spirit-body. His own spirit-body. spirit-body. His own spirit-body. …" (Benny Hinn, Praise the Lord program on TBN (October 23, 1992).

Joseph Smith said,"Jesus Christ a separate and distinct personage from God the father, and that the holy ghost was a distinct personage and a spirit; and these three constitute three distinct personages and three Gods." (History of the Church vol.6 p.474)

On the nature of God, Benny said, "God the Father, ladies and gentleman, is a person and He is a triune being by Himself, separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost... See, God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, God the Holy Ghost is a person; but each one of them is a triune being by himself. If I can shock you and maybe I should, there’s nine of them! What did you say? Let me explain. God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person with his own personal spirit, with his own personal soul and his own personal spirit body. (Orlando Christian Center Broadcast, Oct.13,1990)

On another TBN show 10 days later, Paul Crouch tried to correct his error seemingly forgetting what he said a mere 10 days earlier. "You have been attacked too on statements that you have made concerning the trinity and the members of the Godhead. How many are there in the Godhead?" Benny responded, "Three!" Crouch said, "Three." Benny, "Simply three?" Crouch said, "Not nine!"  Benny, "No, goodness!" (Benny then laughed at the ridiculous prospect). Crouch asked, "Where did that silly charge come from?" Benny responded, "This thing has almost become comical. Paul, here is what I believe. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost - three separate individuals, one in essence, one in work, and may I add, each of them possesses his own spirit body. That’s what I believe."( TBN, Oct.23,1992.)

Jeremiah 10:10-11: "But the Lord is the true God, He is the living God, and an everlasting king: at His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens."

According to Frederick Price: "Do you think that the punishment for our sin was to die on a cross? If that were the case, the two thieves could have paid your price. No, the punishment was to go into hell itself and to serve time in hell separated from God…Satan and all the demons of hell thought that they had Him bound and they threw a net over Jesus and dragged Him down to the very pit of hell itself to serve our sentence." (Frederick K.C. Price, Ever Increasing Faith Messenger (June 1980), 7.

Kenneth Hagin teaches "He [Jesus] tasted spiritual death for every man. And His spirit and inner man went to hell in my place. Can’t you see that? Physical death wouldn’t remove your sins. He’s tasted death for every man. He’s talking about tasting spiritual death." (Kenneth E. Hagin, How Jesus Obtained His Name   tape #44H01, side 1. )

Kenneth Copeland’s teaches "When Jesus cried, ‘It is finished!’ He was not speaking of the plan of redemption. There were still three days and nights to go through before He went to the throne…Jesus’ death on the cross was only the beginning of the complete work of redemption." (Kenneth Copeland, Jesus—Our Lord of Glory, Believer’s Voice of Victory 10, 4 (April 1982)

This teaching of suffering in hell instead of the cross we can honestly say is a new heretical revelation to modern man.

Mormons also remove it from the cross but even they would not put it in hell instead it is in Gethsamane.

In the Temple Preparation Seminar Discussion, which is published by the LDS Church, is explained, "...Jesus' greatest suffering in making the atonement for mankind occurred in the Garden of Gethsamane, when he took upon himself our sins, which caused him to bleed at every pore. His suffering at that point was even more intense than when he was put to death on the cross," (p. 18).

It doesn't matter whether Jesus pays the price at Gethsamane or in Hell since neither is true. According to Faith Teachers, Jesus had to regain His divinity by being reborn in hell. Crouch Comments on Hinn’s remarks about Jesus defeating Satan in the underworld,

Paul Crouch adds, "That’s when His [Jesus’] divinity returned." (Paul Crouch, Praise-a-Thon program on TBN (November 6, 1990).

The concept of incarnation makes sense only if a person existed prior to having a physical body. And while the Bible clearly declares Christ to be preexistent, nowhere in Scripture do we find the concept of human preexistence. In fact, human preexistence is a concept belonging to false-Christian systems such as Mormonism.

There are only a few options of what is influencing these teachers. Since it does not line up with Scripture: it is either its their own human Spirit, their imagination and own reasoning or  a spiritual influence that is not of God, making them think it is from Him. Then they have been given a strong delusion to believe the lie, 2 Thess.2. What is the difference between other pseudo Christian groups and what is operating here? Whatever the source is it is leading millions astray from the cross, from Jesus and the faith delivered to the Saints once for all. This why Paul wrote in 1 Cor.4:6 "not to exceed what was written." Sound doctrinal teaching  keeps one sound of mind and in the doctrine  of Christ.
