FRED PRICE Is "The Price is right?" Or is the Price wrong? He is the pastor of Crenshaw Christian center in which there are more than 16,000 members. He is currently being broadcasted on LeSea network and TBN. His audience is mostly black and much like his predecessor of prosperity Rev. Ike his message is also about affluence. And it is most unfortunate how he uses faith prosperity message. Price claims he was brought up in a Jehovah's Witness family. After he converted to Christianity he experienced many different denominations. This all was left behind him after he read K. Hagin’s booklet “the authority of the believer.” Price claims that it was Hagin who had the greatest influence on his life. Frederick K.C. Price says: “Kenneth Hagin has had the greatest influence upon my life of any living man ... his books ... revolutionized and changed my life.”( Taped interviews on file at the Holy Spirit Research Center, Oral Roberts University cited in D. R. McConnell, The Kenyon Connection: A Theological and Historical Analysis of the Cultic Origins of the Faith Movement, a thesis submitted to the Theological Faculty, Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, OK, May 1982, p. 11). This developed him into being the chief exponent of naming it and claiming it. Say it and frame it, speak it and keep it. Price who has become famous for his anti biblical stance of If you have to say, “if it be thy will or thy will be done- if you have to say that, then your calling God a fool.” He explains “What they told me to do was that whenever I prayed I should always say, 'The will of the Lord be done.,' Now, doesn't that sound humble? It does. Sounds like humility, it's really stupidity. I mean, you know, really, we insult God. I mean, we really do insult our Heavenly Father. We do; we really insult Him without even realizing it. If you have to say, 'If it be thy will or' Thy will be done'-if you have to say that, then you're calling God a fool because he's the One that told us to ask.... (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN Nov.16,1990). Despite all his rhetoric it’s not God who is the fool but those who say there is no prayer to say God’s will be done. If it isn’t his will its yours, and you might as well say God move over I’m your replacement. Hardly a comforting thought (see Jms.4:15, Mt.6:19, 1Jn. 514) “If them animals belonged to, if those animals belonged ' to God, how come God didn't give them their names? Why did he leave it up to a puny man to give them the names to the animal kingdom, the plant kingdom, and the vegetable kingdom? Because they belonged under the control of Adam and not of God Why? He had dominion. Not God, Adam.” (Ever Increasing Faith program may 3, 1992) if this were true then how did God curse creation after the fall? How did man fall if we were in control of these kingdoms? “Adam, as I said, gave it [the earth] away to the serpent, to the Devil. As a result of it he got his behind kicked out of the garden. He went out of Eden, out of the garden. He began to wander around, and he has troubles from day one. Now God was out of the business. God was out of the earth realm. God had no more stock in this earth realm. No more. None at all. Nothing He could do. Not a thing in the world He could do. The only way God could get back into this earth realm, He had to have an invitation. Ha-hah! He had to have an invitation.” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN [1 May 1992], audiotape #PR11.) I think the words Price uses are dead giveaways to his understanding “God was out of the business” he had to be invited. But there is a heresy that is deeper than the obvious slip ups. The bible says nothing is impossible with God, but Price says it was not possible for God to control what he once did without man. Price has it backwards. Do we see this happening in the Scripture, absolutely not. “God the father cannot do anything in this earth realm without permission. Now again I realize that that statement is very as I say from an evangelical point of view (meaning the evangelical doctrines)… that this statement that I’m making that God can’t do is like going out and committing adultery to them, it sin, simple to say that.” Price thinks God needs mans permission to do things on earth. “Now this is a shocker! But God has to be given permission to work in this earth realm on behalf of man....Yes! You are in control! So if man has control, who no longer has it? God.....When God gave Adam dominion, that meant God no longer had dominion. So God cannot do anything in this earth unless we let Him. And the way we let Him or give Him permission is through prayer.” (Frederick Price Quoted from - “Christianity in Crisis” by H. Hanegraaff, 1993) Price does know his explanation is more than unusual yet he is satisfied with his own exposition for this. What kind of Bible teaching is this, God is not in control, man is. Who then is God to Fred Price? “Yes! You are in control! So, if man has control, who no longer has it? God” (Fred Price, “Prayer: Do You Know What Prayer Is...and How to Pray?” (The Word Study Bible, 1990 p. 1178). We are in control and God is not! So why pray to him, we might as well pray to ourselves. That’s exactly how it is put when he states don’t pray for God’s will. He explains “The way God has designed the system, we control. It’s up to us. “You see, I gave it to you before..” Matthew 18:18, “Whatever you bind on earth...bound in heaven; whatever you loose...it loosed in heaven.” For every scripture Price seems to find to support his by faith its mine doctrine there are numerous more that clearly bring light to his erroneous conclusion. Isa.29:l6: “Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the thing made say of him who made it, 'He did not make me'? Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, 'He has no understanding?” Fred Price affirms, “Jesus said, All authority... All of it.” How much is left out of the term all? Nothing. It’s an inclusive term. It leaves nothing out. He said, All authority in the heaven and in the earth is in My hands. It has been given to Me and what do you think the purpose of Almighty God giving Him the authority in the earth was for and He’s not here to use it? It’s because He gave that authority to the Church. In essence, He was saying, I’m going back to Heaven. I’ll take care of the authority in the heavenly realm but I’m leaving you here My body ...and I’m giving you, by delegation, My authority in the earth realm. Go forth and conquer. The way God has designed the system, we control. It’s up to us.” (Fred Price, Ever Increasing Faith Lesea [on audio]). Where does the Bible say Jesus gave us the control that he has? Scripture proof- none. The only thing Price controls is his congregation with his twisted teaching of the word. It is bondage to believe these untruths. Price believes the control is found in all that we say, “If you keep talking death, that is what you are going to have. If you keep talking sickness and disease, that is what you are going to have, because you are going to create the reality of them with your own mouth. That is a divine law.” (Fred Price, Realm, 29) God and Man Price does seem to uphold the trinity however he does have an aberrant view on our birth “All he did when he came here was get a body through Mary. And that’s all you did when you got here you were already alive before you came into your mommas womb, you were a livin spirit, you just came into your mommas womb so that you can get a physical body so that you can live here” (Dec., 2003 Lesea Broadcasting) I'm following a Rich Jesus He also promotes the myth that Jesus was very rich and incorporates this into his theology of why every believer should be rich. “The whole point is I'm trying to get you to see-to get you out of this malaise of thinking that Jesus and the disciples were poor and then relating that to you thinking that you, as a child of God, have to follow Jesus. The Bible says that He has left us an example that we should follow His steps. That's the reason why I drive a Rolls Royce. I'm following Jesus' steps.” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN December19 1990].) “Jesus was rich and we are going to see that in the bible but I want to show you a passage of scripture that Satan has very cleverly used to sow this concept that Jesus didn't have anything. And he actually uses the bible to bring his thought to our mind… Marks gospel chpt. 4 and Matthews gospel chpt. 8.” (Mar. 2,000) Bible verse to counter his claims- Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Frederick Price likewise boasts, “If the Mafia can ride around in Lincoln Continental town cars, why can't the King's Kids?” (Faith, foolishness or presumption p.34) “Thats the reason why I drive a Rolls Royce” (audio #CR-A2 “Ever Increasing Faith program TBN Dec.9, 1990). But it is Price and the other prosperity teachers who seem to enjoy the benefit of this doctrine, certainly it’s not the majority of his Church. And it will stay that way. “You can talk about me all you want while I’m driving by in my rolls Royce that’s paid for and I got the pink slip on it. Talk all you want bad mouth all you want. Don’t hurt me in the least doesn’t bother me. It’s a whole lot easier to be persecuted while I’m riding in my car and I got the pink slip than it is when I’m ridin in the car and owe my soul to the company store.” Price is so proud of what he got in “ Jesus' name” that he boasts to his congregation “I’ve got 25 million dollars in my financial statement, free and clear I have no debt, I live in a 25 room mansion, I have my own 6 million dollar yacht, I have my own private jet and I have my own helicopter and I have 7 luxury automobiles so I never get board having to drive the same car more than one time in any given week” (God stuff video). In an interview Price justifies his position by saying “ If I’m going to represent him, then I’m going to get you to follow him I would have to show you something that is better than what you have now or why would you want to change.” Is this how the apostles did it, they offered better stuff to the people! Of course not, they taught the people to follow Jesus the same way Jesus taught, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me”( Luke 9:23). This one teaching Price and the other prosperity lovers cannot teach accurately. One TV commentator (Cal Thomas) astutely said “One of my favorite lines is The Lord rode into Jerusalem on a an ass now some of the asses are riding around in Mercedes.” Maybe Price can explain why Jesus had borrowed a manger, He had borrowed boats, He borrowed a colt to ride into Jerusalem; He borrowed a house for Passover and He was buried in a borrowed tomb. Why did he say in Luke 14:33 to someone who was already rich: “So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” So whose disciple are they if they go after everything Jesus said not to? I’ll leave that for you to decide. Luke 6:20-26: “Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh … “But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. Woe to you who are full, for you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” On a TBN broadcast Fred Price persuaded his audience that Christ and His disciples were wealthy (otherwise how could they have traveled around for 3 years without employment!) He justified his flying First Class and driving a Rolls Royce as part of a godly mentality that causes us to treat God First Class and gives Christ a successful image. One hardly knows whether to weep or to laugh at such follies. Certainly Paul would not laugh, especially when he says, “The apostles were businessmen, they were rich men, and had plenty of money, I’m going to show you that Jesus was a wealthy man and had plenty of money see all of that is completely foreign to us from a traditional point of view” (God stuff video) (I think he means a Biblical point of view).Would Jesus or the apostles have this kind of bank account? We need to ask our self why is he saying this? The simple answer: this is how he justifies his need for money and his lifestyle. Price espouses all the word faith doctrine in existence, after all it all has worked for him so it should work for everyone else. But it doesn’t. “Yeah, God has pleasure in the prosperity. So he must have displeasure in the poverty. So if he does, then poverty couldn't be from God. Yeah, but Brother Price, but God allows it. God lets it happen. You're right, he does. He does, because you do. He can't do anything about it” (Ever Increasing Faith 11/16/90). If so why does James write in 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?” As Jesus said you can't serve two masters you will either either love God or mammon (money). You can always tell what people love more by what they talk about the most. As Paul was traveling to Jerusalem which was a poor church “For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors.” (Rom 15:26) Why take up a contribution if we can possess all by our mouth. God doesn't expect us to serve Him for free. Frederick Price explains that “most employers at least have enough common decency about them that they don't ask somebody to work for them for free.... If a man has enough nicety about him to do that, can't you at least believe that the Father God is not asking you to serve Him for free either?” (D.L. McConnell p.170 op. cit. F. Price Faith, Foolishness, presumption p.7) Frederick Price states, “The Bible says that He [Jesus] had a treasurer-a treasury they called it “the bag”); that they had one man who was the treasurer, named Judas Iscariot; and the rascal was stealing out of the bag for three-and-a-half years and nobody knew that he was stealing. You know why? Because there was so much in it, He couldn't tell. Nobody could tell that anything was missing. If He had three oranges in the bottom of the bag and he stole two of them, don't tell me He wouldn't know that some was missing. Beside that, if Jesus didn't have anything, what do you need a treasury for? A treasury is for surplus. It's not for that which you're spending. It's only for surplus-to hold it until you need to spend it. Therefore, He must have had a whole lot that needed to be held in advance that He wasn't spending. So He must have had more than He was living on.” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program TBN Nov.23, 1990) Price states the “apostles were business men they were rich men had plenty of money, I’m going to show you that Jesus was a wealthy man had plenty of money and see all of that completely foreign to us from a traditional point of view.” “Jesus and the disciples were rich, only rich people could take off for 3.5 years.” (Fred Price, Ever Increasing Faith, recorded Nov.23 1990) Christ came in complete humility as stated in 2 Cor. 8:9 “Christ, that though He was rich, (owning everything) yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” ) So the Bible does teach Jesus was poor on earth and our spiritual riches means spiritually rich. The Bible’s prosperity is not about what you have, but Whom you have. Ephesians 1:3 says that the Father “ has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” The apostles followed his footsteps as 2 Cor. 6:9-10 states “as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.” They gave up the riches of this world to gain them in the next. You cannot justify everyone being rich from the Scriptures. Betty Price has written a book called “Lifestyles of the Rich and Faithful,” which title needs no comment. Price has actually said, “If I was exposed to what you all are exposed to at the age that your expose to it now, I would own 3/4 of the world, and I would be the president of all the co-operations in existences” (God stuff video). Really now, isn't this a bit prideful. Did not Jesus ask, what if you were to gain the whole world and lose your own soul? John said anyone who loves the world does not have the love of the Father in them. This kind of boasting and teaching only focuses people to be non-spiritual and love the present world and not preparing for the next where we will spend eternity in. Store up your treasures in heaven was Jesus advice.Prices solution is for you to be prosperous like himself… How? He explains seed faith works like this you can’t receive anything because you don’t give anything. You say give me some pineapple to the dirt he’ll say give me some seed. So then we are the initiator and we live by law instead of grace the emphasis is shifted on you and then there really is no faith because you are no longer dependent on God but on your power. As I listened to Price explain his theory being only 15 feet away on stage at Word of Life Christian Center in Hawaii, I was fascinated by the way he orchestrated this together. Here is his revelation-do you know why it’s more blessed to give than to receive, the reason is because its giving that causes receiving. And he applies it to God gave first. The problem with this is God then did not give out of selfless love, but with the motivation to get dividends. He then gave reasons why faith and belief are two different things the opposite of night and day. If you operate only in belief you won’t get anything. Belief does not change your situation. Because to Price faith is a force. Strong’s Concordance says the word faith= Gr. Pistis persuasion, credence, conviction belief= to have faith in, upon, or respect to a person or thing. Jesus is not saying something other than faith when he asked people to believe in him and what he said. Jesus said one can receive salvation by believing in him which is the equivalent of faith. Rom. 4:2-6: For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works.” Is not the whole point of grace that we receive something that is underserved: but the faith teachers say work your faith to receive it, it then comes by the work of our own hands. By giving in faith our own power we must receive a blessing, God becomes obligated to man. This is a man centered philosophy, and it is self focused. It is not God centered theology at all. Look at what Paul says about this in Gal 3:18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. Grace means it is unconditional it is not dependent on man but on God. This is why grace is tied in with a gift given for free. James 2:22-23 “Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.” James calls the belief of Abraham” Faith.” Price is adamant on people tithing. In one program he went public scolding his congregation for 15 minutes in an abusive manner for bouncing checks on their tithes. He then turned to the TV audience next. The problem is that they were only doing what he asks, to send in by faith their checks, unfortunately the faith teaching doesn’t work, so they bounced. But it does work well for those behind the pulpit on the receiving end. Ever increasing faith Messenger is the publication of Fed Price. The winter 2001 issue covered his 70th birthday celebration. The writer of the article in called in honor of the godfather of faith and stated that Price refers to himself as Caleb. At his celebration “Like the Queen of Sheba paying obeisance to Solomon, many came with gifts that drew ooohs and ahhhs from the guests.” The attendees were those who were grateful for Prices influence on their life. Mike Evans, Ed Mcmahon, Oral Roberts, Steve Wonder and Helen Baylor sang. Billy Blanks thanked him…You’ve given me an opportunity through Tae-Bo… to preach the gospel to people all over the world, and I’m changing physical fitness through the word you have taught me.” Casey Treat told Price he couldn’t get old because if you do “I’m going to run out of sermon material.” Art and Kuna Sepulveda of Word of Life Christian Center in Hawaii, said he is covenanted with him and “wherever you want me to be, wherever you need me to be, whatever you want me to do, I’m your man for life.” Creflo Dollar told the audience what most people call faith isn’t faith at all. “It’s high expectation off the wrong information. Dr. Price was elected by God to give us the right information.” Dr. Wilks said he grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and had as role models pimps and players, but he loved Dr. Prices style. “In 1988-89, when I first hit Crenshaw Christian center and I saw that while Rolls Royce sitting there I figured either this pastors got to be a pimp or a player. I call him a sanctified player.” Kenneth Copeland gave a prophecy of prosperity for Price, in the last portion he prophesied “It will be the easiest time you’ve ever had in your life, but it will be a time when more will be done in all your years before you… the best is yet to come. Hallelujah!” In the article we are told this modern day Caleb is still looking for mountains to climb (His latest is Crenshaw Christian Center East). This is located in Manhattan in New York City, on p.12 of his magazine we are told he “now teaches a weekly Thursday night service in Manhattan at First Church of Christ Scientist.” (Ever Increasing Faith -- Messenger Vol.XXII, no.4 2001)This is ironic since Price has had so much in common with Christian Science as do the other word faith teachers. Jesus paid it all - in HellPrice also promotes the idea that Jesus died spiritually by taking on the nature of Satan on the cross. He then went to hell to serve our sentence and was tortured before He was born again. Now that’s a lovely thought. “The thing that redeemed us was not Jesus being nailed to the cross. His spirit and soul went into Hades.” It is here that Price denies one of the core doctrines of the faith. “Satan was seated on his throne with sickening grin on his face with his lip twisted in grotesque triumph and all the imps of hell were dancing a jig and the word came we got him now we defeated the plan of god and the devil was sitting there saying “I told you if you follow me I’d lead you to victory we got him now and they wrapped their grimy hands and the chains of hell itself around Jesus and they consigned him to one of the cells in Hades section of the underworld. And then Satan and his demons hordes went on a three day drunk, they thought they had him. They have defeated and thwarted the plan of almighty God and Jesus sat there as it were immobile not saying a word not doing anything except serving our sentence.” How Price knows this explicit nonsense is left up to the imagination of the hearer. I have heard of embellished stories to enforce a point but his is not what he is doing. One thing a Berean would know, Its not found in our bible or any bible with the accurate printed word. Price is not alone in this Halloween type depiction, but he is one of the main promoters of what many see as the worst false doctrine of our century, and possibly the Church's history. Price explains “Do you think that the punishment for our sin was to die on a cross? If that were the case, the two thieves could have paid your price. No, the punishment was to go into hell itself and to serve time in hell separated from God . . . Satan and all the demons of hell thought that they had Him bound. And they threw a net over Jesus and they dragged Him down to the very pit of hell itself to serve our sentence.” (Ever Increasing Faith Messenger [June 1980], 7; quoted in D.R. McConnell, A Different Gospel, 1988 120.) How he knows this he’s not sharing, but one thing for sure God has not shared such a thing in his word, EVER! Where is this found in the Bible? It tells us the atonement, the punishment was completed on the cross. in this Price preaches a different gosdpel and a different Jesus. Fredrick Price teaches that Jesus Christ was died spiritually-not on the cross, but rather in the Garden of Gethsemane: “Somewhere between the time He [Jesus] was nailed to the cross and when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane-somewhere in there-He died spiritually. Personally, I believe it was while He was in the garden.” Price, admittingly reared in a Jehovah’s Witness environment adopts the Mormon Apostle James E. Talmage, who taught the same thing in his book Jesus the Christ. (Frederick K. C. Price, Identification #3 (Inglewood, CA: Ever Increasing Faith Ministries, 1980), tape #FP545, side 1. If Jesus was separated (dying spiritually in the garden) then why would he wait until the third hour on the cross the cry out “my God my God why have you forsaken me” Price shifts the focus to some other time. What Jesus is this? I submit it is not the Jesus the Scriptures teach, but a Jesus in name only with some similarties. Say you 're healed and by faith your healedBesides his flawed teaching on the atonement he includes healing as a definite surety for all who walk in faith “the believer should never die before the age of 70. That is the minimum and then they should live to be 120 years. This is done by faith words “If you keep talking death, that is what you are going to have. If you keep talking sickness and disease, that is what you are going to have, because you are going to create the reality of them with your own mouth. That is a divine law.” (Fred Price, Realm, 29). Price says “So he said the man believeth with the mouth confession is made that’s a law that law will apply to anything that you apply it. Two oranges plus two oranges 4 oranges- two automobiles and two automobiles 4 automobiles. The law is believe with the heart speak with your mouth.” The only thing he is right on is the math Price says, “Yes! You are in control! So, if man has control, who no longer has it? God” (“Prayer: Do You Know What Prayer Is...and How to Pray?” The Word Study Bible, 1990 p. 1178). When you have developed your faith to such an extent that you can stand on the promises of God, then you won't need medicine. That's the reason I don't take medicine. (Faith, Foolishness, p. 88.) “ If you need a crutch upon or something to help you get along, then praise God, hobble along until you get your faith moving to the point that you don’t need a crutch.” (How Faith Works pp. 92-92) This is demeaning to those who are handicapped scolding them by not having faith enough to be healed. The bible teaches to uphold and comfort the weak not put them down. While we all do grow in faith Jesus said it only took the faith of a mustard seed to move mountains. “ ... how can you glorify God in your body, when it doesn't function right? How can you glorify God? How can He get glory when your body doesn't even work? ... What makes you think the Holy Ghost wants to live inside a body where He can't see out through the windows and He can't hear with the ears? What makes you think the Holy Spirit wants to live inside of a physical body where the limbs and the organs and the cells do not function right? ... And what makes you think He wants to live in a temple where He can't see out of the eyes, and He can't walk with the feet, and He can't move with the hand? ... The only eyes that he has that are in the earth realm are the eyes that are in the body. If He can't see out of them then God's gonna be limited he's not going to be helped...” applause (Frederick K.C. Price, “Is God Glorified Through Sickness?” (Los Angeles: Crenshaw Christian Center, n.d.), audiotape #FP605) Is God so weak that he depends on us? That he can't see without a human vessel. Who does Price think God is, a man like himself! Does not the psalmist state in Ps.139 that God’s Spirit is everywhere and sees all things even where there are no humans. Ps. 94:8-11: “Understand, you senseless among the people; and you fools, when will you be wise? He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see? Price has stated he was brought up a Jehovah’s Witness it seems he has carried over the doctrines of a limited God into his word faith theology. Here he states absolutely you cannot glorify God if your sick and not perfect physically. Is God hindered by human a vessel? I'm thankful that Prices theology is not God’s theology. Since we all have been affected from sin in various ways God may realistically not dwell in any of us according to his view. Price is preaching a master spiritual race as only those who are privileged to have a perfect body for God to dwell in. But this is not the only time he has had a prejudiced view. Fred Price “I have been attacked to such a degree and have been in such pain that I almost wished that I have never heard about the faith healing sometimes I would hurt so badly until I wanted to go to the doctor and let them give me a shot and knock me out for 6 weeks and that would have been the easy way but I know better I refuse to give in.” Price boasts of himself “When you have developed your faith to such an extent that you can stand on the promises of God, then you won't need medicine. That's the reason 1 don't take medicine.” While he says we don’t allow sickness in his home (Is healing for all? P.20 Harrison house 1976) and condemns others for having it. Nor does he personally take medicine somehow it snuck in on his wife. In 1990 she developed cancer and underwent chemotheraphy and radiation treatment. It was by God’s grace not the law of faith that she was cured. Price claims to be anointed to heal Arthritis, Bursitis, Rheumatism with a 99% cure rate by touch, but it seems he has the healing touch for certain sicknesses and not others. The nature of God is often confused in word faith theology. Price also repeats Copeland’s false teaching that God is only good and the devil is only bad “God is not a killer. God doesn’t take life. If you can show me any scripture in the Bible. Now, I’m not talking about God moving in judgment like with the flood in the days of Noah, or Sodom and Gomorrah. God has the right as the Creator and Owner of the universe to move in judgment. I’m talking about daily things in reference to His people. God doesn’t take people by death. You can’t find a scripture in the Bible where it ever says God took them and took them by death. In fact, we have three accounts in the Bible where God took somebody and in every case where God took them, He took them alive. Nobody did He ever take dead.” God doesn’t take people through death. Jesus said, “I came that they might have life.”. ..not death...not poverty...not sickness...not disease. “I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” Don’t blame God. But… He will let it happen if you do because He doesn’t control it...you do… Matthew, Chapter 18, Verse 18. It says, “Whatever you bind on earth, is bound in heaven. Whatever you loose on earth, is loosed in heaven.” Notice where it starts. It doesn’t start in heaven; it starts in earth. because the authority has been given to us. “ While Price states this as if it is fact, the bible contradicts his theology. Its easy to find what Price says is not there if we search the Scripture as a Berean would. The choice is to just follow what Price says or do what God says, test by scripture outrageous statements such as these. Yet he depends on his people to be Bible illiterate. For even a cursory reading has one find easily what Price says is not there. Deut 32:39: “Now see that I, even I, am He, and there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Numbers 12 Mariam was afflicted with leprosy because she disobeyed the Lord, she was healed when she repented of her rebellion.” Is our God now the devil? who afflicts In 2 Sam..6:6-7 Uzzah put his hand out to stop the Ark from touching the ground and God struck him. 2 Sam.12:15-18 The lord took David’s son because of his adulterous relationship with Bathsheba. In 1 Chron.21:15 God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. In 2 Chron.21:14-15: “Behold the Lord will strike your people with a serious affliction-your children, your wives, and all your possessions; and you will become very sick with a disease of your intestines…” Job 27: says God takes life, but according to Price Job was not a man of faith. Taking communion without reflecting on the Lords body have caused many to be weak, sick and some have even died (1 Cor.11:29-30). Exod.15:26: “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.” Exod. 13:15: “And it came to pass, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that the LORD killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast.” Josh. 10:10: “So the LORD routed them before Israel, killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.” Lev. 16:2: “the LORD said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat. Num. 14:37: “those very men who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the LORD. Num. 16:44-45: “And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.” And they fell on their faces. v:49 Now those who died in the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred.” Yes God does judge and take life. Num. 21:6: “So the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.” We find it was God who told Moses he would not enter the promise land and instead would die. Deut. 32:49-50: “Go up this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, across from Jericho; view the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel as a possession;” and die on the mountain which you ascend, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people” Deut. 34: “So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. V:7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.” Its obvious that Price is wrong but what is more perplexing is that his followers do not look to the Bible to see this. Many more examples could be cited to prove that God does indeed judge people individually and collectively. “ We even used the statement that Job made which is an incorrect statement. And if you learn… I can’t go into that because its too involved but Job said the Lord has given the Lord has taken away, how many times have you heard the preacher say that at a funeral, huh? Well the LOORRD hath GIVEEEN and The LOORRD hath taken awaaay. blessed be the name of the Lord. How are you going to bless God he just took your wife. Now that’s the dumbest thing in the world.” Price seems to have a hard time dealing with the Scriptures that diminish our things and affect our lives. Whatever he does not have control on he seems to mock. What Price calls dumb God calls real faith, the main element is trust. While here in Hawaii he explained the law of faith. Everything in the kingdom is activated by faith, faith activates God’s power. Much like your hand presses a switch to get the light to go on. “You can have what you say” (Praise the Lord (TBN), 9/21/90). This is why Price can repeat Hagin’s error that what is said is what you get. “You will never get faith by reading the Bible unless you read it out loud, the purpose for studying and reading the bible Is to gain revelation knowledge… we just read it right here God said faith comes by HEARING. That’s the way God has designed the system it comes by what you hear.”(Jan.7, 2000 speaking in Trinidad) This is nonsense. You can hear without it being audible. Jesus did not mean we hear from our physical ears alone but from understanding what is being said.Price explains faith by saying “People have faith by what they hear.” “People do this in the natural and don't have any problem with it, its only when it comes to the things of God that Christians get upset and say I just don't understand how faith comes by hearing.” He then uses a newscast of weather to prove they believe by faith what the weatherman says will happen. But then what would you call it when the weatherman is wrong and you believed his report? Then it is not faith, but false faith. I will leave up to you to decide what kind of faith Price is preaching.
