Mormons fail the test of the garden all over again

God gave man a simple test to stay away from one tree. Satan a fallen angel came and used this tree to promote his teaching which was the opposite of what God had already established. It was Satan who came to Eve and said "has God really said, you shall not eat of the tree." He then tempted her saying "in the day you eat of it you will be like God." The Mormons have tasted the same fruit of the tree and want millions to continue to bite into it. Mormons say that God wanted us to become like him, but Satan came and offered a shortcut in the process.  They claim that Satan didn't tell the whole truth but he did not tell a lie. That he tricked Adam and Eve to obtain godhood in a different way. It was Gods intention for them to become Gods eventually, but this was a shortcut. (they have to say this because God who was once a man became God like all others before him)  This means it was Gods plan for them to know the knowledge of Good and evil,  something God always knew. But according to the Bible it was the knowledge of evil that made them fall and discover sin. This was not Gods plan, because they were warned the day they eat of the tree they will die. I have had Mormons tell me it was actually a blessing. But when we look at the biblical record God cursed them, the serpent, and the earth. But this knowledge came by experience to Adam and Eve. While God knew the difference of good and evil he never sinned. Rom.5:12 tells us from this devastating event death came into the world, that we don't have the ability for potential godhood but the very opposite. A assurance of being away from God for all eternity unless we accept the grace and forgiveness of Christ. Jesus said Satan is "a liar and a murderer from the beginning that there is not truth in him when he speaks a lie he speaks from his own nature for he is a liar and the father of all lies."Who is right Jesus otr mormon teaching?  Mormons have unwittingly embraced his teaching that will not lead them to be like the God of the Bible but the false God of this world. They are eating the fruit of the one who brought in the fall of the human race.

I have also had Mormons say to me they would not have had children if they did not fall, since they were going to reproduce other children to progress upward. Again the biblical record refutes this idea showing that God commanded them to be fruitful before the fall occurred.

Lets look at their concept of who God is and who man is.

God is an exalted man, perfected, enthroned, and supreme." (Mormon doctrine. p.250) "God the father is a perfected, glorified, holy man, an immortal personage." (Mormon Doctrine. p.742)

Bible-Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man," they claim he is.

Jn.4:24 "God is Spirit." that is his eternal nature.

You have got to learn how to be gods yourselves ... the same as all Gods before you ... to inherit the same power, the same glory and the same exaltation, until you arrive at the station of a God."(teachings of the prophet J.Smith, p.346,347)

The Mormon Church teaches that God the Father had a Father, and that God's Father also had a Father, and so on back in time. Brigham Young, prophet number two of the church, declared: "He [God] is our Father - the Father of our spirits, and was on a man in mortal flesh as we are, and is now an exalted being.... there never was a time when there were not Gods...

"Our spirits and the spirits of all the human family were begotten by Adam and born of Eve . . . I tell you, when you see your Father in heaven, you will see Adam; when you see your mother that bore your spirit, you will see mother Eve. (Manuscript Addresses of Brigham Young, Oct. 8, 1854)

This idea of preexistence and making certain pre-borns Gods conflicts with the bible as well as their own teaching in the book of Mormon. To say there is both mother and father that had sex in heaven to reproduce sprit children is pure pagan mythology.

"it appears ridiculous to the world, under their darkened and erroneous traditions, that God has once been a finite being..." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, page 333)

This accusation found in their official publication shows how far removed they are from the bibles perspective that is Gods word to mankind.

Mormon President Brigham Young taught that Adam was the God whom Mormons should worship, and claimed that Jesus Christ was his literal son. In his infamous address delivered on April 9, 1852, young asserted:

"When the Virgin Mary conceived the child Jesus, the Father had begotten him in his own likeness. He was not begotten by the Holy Ghost. And who is the Father? He is the first of the human family.. Jesus, our elder brother, was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven." (Journal of Discourses, vol.1 pp. 50-51)

Brigham Young stated "Now hear O' inhabitants of the earth, when our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body and brought Eve, one of his wives with him. He is our father and our God and the Only god with whom we have to do. (Journal of Discourses vol.1 p.50)

So Mormons worship the God who fell.

Wilford Woodruff in agreement stated "President Young followed and made many good remarks . . . He said that our God was Father Adam. He was the Father of the Savior Jesus Christ--Our God was no more or less than Adam . . . Michael the Archangel." (Wilford Woodruff Private Journal, Feb 19. 1854)

Orson Pratt stood alone against this teaching, the Quorum of the twelve in 1860 met to consider Pratt's opposition to Brigham Young's teachings.

 O. Hyde: (President of the Quorum): To acknowledge that this is the Kingdom of God and that there is a presiding power, and to admit that he can advance incorrect doctrine is to lay the ax at the root of the tree. Will he suffer His mouthpiece to go into error? No, He would remove him, and place another there. Bro. Brigham may err in the price of a horse or a house and lot, but in the revelations from God, where is the man that has given thus saith the Lord when it was not so? I cannot find one instance.

Who is our Heavenly Father? I would as soon it was Father Adam or any other good and lawful being. I shall see him sometime, if I do right.

     J. Taylor: When Bro. Brigham tells me a thing, I receive it as revelation. Some things may be apparently contradictory but are not really contradictory.

Orson  Hyde: I do not see any contradiction or opposition between B. Young & J. Smith.

LDS Apostle Orson Hyde certainly believed in this concept as he stated, "God our Heavenly Father was perhaps once a child, and mortal like we are, and rose step by step in the scale of progress, " (Journal of Discourses 1:123).

"... Joseph said that Adam was our Father and God." (Brigham Young, Journal History of the Church, May 14, 1876)

To deny Brigham's statement is to deny Joseph Smiths of God (more specifically Gods) because Young said he is repeating what he said.

Mormons want to distance themselves from Young's statements of this kind but look what is said in their official publication J and D which they consider scripture  "I say now, when they (his discourses) are copied and approved by me they are as good as scripture as couched in the Bible…"(J and D vol.13 p.264 also p.95)

What Young may have been referring to that is recorded to read is "God himself; the Father of us all dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ himself did," . . . (Joseph Smith, Times and Seasons, Vol. 5, pp. 613-614)

"We are the sons and daughters of celestial Beings, and the germ of the Deity dwells within us. When our spirits took possession of these tabernacles, they were as pure as the angels of God, wherefore total depravity cannot be a true doctrine." (Discourses of Brigham Young, pp.50-51) But somehow these pure spirit beings became sinners.

Brigham young stated "Adam was an immortal being when he came to this earth. He had lived on an earth similar to ours. He had received the priesthood and the keys thereof, and had been faithful in all things, and had gained his resurrection, and his exaltation and was crowned with glory, immortality and eternal lives, and was numbered with the Gods, for such he became through his faithfulness. (Brigham Young quoted in the Journal of L. John Nuttall, Feb 7, 1887) This is not the Adam of the bible because Paul states in Rom. 5 that sin and death came through this Adam who certainly was not "faithful in ALL things. "Neither was she immortal because he lived to 930 years and died.

Mormon Apostle Orson Pratt disagreed with Young and made it clear that the God they refer to had entered " in a fallen state, died and was redeemed ," The Gods who dwell in the Heaven have been redeemed from the grave in a world which existed before the foundations of this earth were laid. They and the they now inhabit were once in a Heavenly body which exalted also, from fallen men to fallen state ... they were Celestial Gods to inhabit their Heaven forever and ever." (The Seer, Jan. 1853, pg. 23)

The bible describes a God who is Holy perfect in all his ways separate from sinners. Jesus was without sin. Yet Mormonism teaches we must sin to progress upward to become a God, like all others before him.

Heb 7:25-27 "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through him since He always lives to make intercession for them."

For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

Heb.4:15 "For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses but was in all points tempted as we are yet without sin." The scriptures are very careful to present Jesus as sinless 2 Cor.5:21, l Pt. 2:22, 1 Jn.3:5.

Lets sum up what we have looked at. They claim Adam is God , their God.
