Pt.3 Strange Spiritistic Teachings Blood revelations On another “Its Supernatural” program Ana Mendez is interviewed. Sid Roth: “...One day you were speaking in your church and were caught up in a vision into the heavenlies, tell me about that.” Ana Mendez: “Yes that is what started my revelation of the power of the blood. I was literally caught up into a heaven and was in front of Jesus, he brought two humongous drops of blood, the size of a head of a person and he said drink of my blood, and I drank of the blood and I saw my body like red from the blood and then suddenly he allowed a demon to come and he was a horrible demon, and that the demon crawled over me the power of the blood totally scorched that demon, and the lord says I am teaching you about the power of my blood. That its not just pleading the blood, its not what we speak about Jesus but its from what position we are speaking from. One thing is to plead the blood of Jesus and one other thing is to be totally invaded by the blood of Jesus. As we take communion and we take communion everyday such as the early church did… the bread in houses everyday, this is one of the practices of the early church that brought them into an amazing power ,that conquered the early world, So that is how the lord started to teach me on the power of the blood.” Sid Roth: In this vision that you had you saw this demon coming towards you and you were so filled with the blood what did the demon do?” Ana Mendez: The demon was just scorched as he was crawled over me, I saw him just burning as the power of the blood was just scorching him.” Sid Roth: So your not afraid of any demon?” “Absolutely not, the devil is absolutely destroyed but we don’t know the power of Jesus is so incredibly intense but its not just about talking about the blood its about drinking his blood, our spirits need that spiritual nourishment that make us strong and strong and strong and many people… have made communion a ritual is just a memorial just a memory of the covenant of Christ that is not what he meant.” Is the Devil destroyed? If so why is she chasing after him throughout the world. Heb 2:14: “that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil” (katargeesee- destroy--this word means to render ineffective). Christ broke the power of the devil over death, his authority over death is no longer his. If the devil was literally destroyed there would be no reason for James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Or be told In Eph 6:11 to put on the whole armor of God. If the devil is destroyed then there is no false Messiah coming to rule the world in a Tribulation? It is apparent she has a whole different view than what the Bible teaches. The early church did not take communion each day. The power in the church was by the Holy Spirit, in surrendered lives that are quite different than what Mendez is portraying with her new revelation. 2 Cor 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.” She refers to Acts 2:42 as proof of this communion taking everyday. “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” And what of the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in prayers. It does not seclude the taking of bread apart from these other activities. The breaking of bread is Jewish custom of eating meals – not what Mendez claims. Acts 2:46: “So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” It is the disciples that went from house to house, and it says it was food, NOT communion. Acts 20:7: “Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.V.11 Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed.” Here it mentions the first day of the week, not everyday. Breaking bread does not ALWAYS mean they had communion. For example, Paul writes of being shipwrecked and has them break bread for nourishment, certainly he was not distributing communion among the pagans or he would be breaking his own command in 1 Cor.11:26-29. Acts 27:33-37 Paul implored them all to take food, saying, "Today is the fourteenth day you have waited and continued without food, and eaten nothing. "Therefore I urge you to take nourishment, for this is for your survival, since not a hair will fall from the head of any of you." And when he had said these things, he took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of them all; and when he had broken it he began to eat. Then they were all encouraged, and also took food themselves. And in all we were two hundred and seventy-six persons on the ship.” Now we need people to go to heaven and get revelation from Jesus to bring back to the church because the Bible is missing teaching? How distorted is this. Are we to believe God puts demons on Christians in heaven to teach new revelation? The bible does not teach the blood is a weapon, the word of God is our weapon to withstand the enemy. Our eternal life is because of the Spirit not because of taking communion, His body and blood manifesting light and life. Roth then asks her about the Catholic view of it literally being the blood and says she believes it is an abomination. And what would you call her introducing her own foreign view of the blood to the Church? Ana Mendez: Saint Augustine had the right interpretation that actually we are drinking the blood Spiritually and we are eating of the flesh of the Lord spiritually but the elements… remain the same thing; We are a natural creature and we are a Spiritual creature, so our spirit needs that nourishment and as we take communion heaven and earth joins together… and as we are literal drinking the fruit of the vine our spirits are literally drinking from the blood of Jesus. And there's are a lot people that are weak in the spirit because their spirits never eat, and that’s why the lord says this is my bread and this is my blood and this is true drink and true bread. And These are two elements people need everyday you need to feed yourself everyday in order to live in order to survive.” Where does she get the teaching that spirits need nourishment like a physical body, not from the Bible, this is a presumption. While spirits can feel there is nothing that says they need nourishment to survive, especially Jesus' blood. She claims she was laid out on the floor for 6 hours and everyone in the church did not move because they knew she was in heaven. That a demon possessed person came close to her and was delivered (an Elisha type miracle) She was not taught about the blood from the bible but had to go to heaven to get a new revelation of being invaded by Jesus’ blood. Even Paul did not speak of his visit to heaven in the first person, he certainly did not come back teaching new revelation, he kept his mouth shut (2 Cor.12). Sid Roth: “She has had revelations of the blood and body of messiah known as communion that the church does not even comprehend today.” also posted on Sid Roth's website: “God has revealed to Ana how to take the Lord's Supper in a way that brings spiritual strength and bodily healing Power in Communion: (Ana Mendez Ferrell Part One By Linda Josef) I find this insulting that this women claims to know more than the Bible does on this subject by a unbiblical mystical experience. Catholics have always attributed more to the elements we take as a memorial, yet there are Charismatics that claim this as well. This ordinance is a spiritual tradition given by Jesus, but Mendez claims it has spiritual power beyond our imagination, also beyond the words of Scripture. She speaks of the blood of Jesus becoming manifest inside the body that brings all kinds of experiences and healings (Where is this in Scripture; it can only be concluded by ones own presupposition based on her unbiblical experience). She claims by this meal we commune with Christ, we become one spirit with him. But this is something the Bible says has already occurred by our being baptized into him by the SPIRIT (1 Cor.12:13), not the blood – or the taking of communion. In her DVD “Becoming the light” “ …As our natural body requires food for energy and perseverance, so does
our Spirit man. We are required to digest the divine elements of Jesus blood and
body as a means of abiding in Him, rather than a ritual. His body and blood
manifest light and life within us. This is our eternal life. Lets begin to examine this from the lesser errors to the greater which become blatant heresy. She states : Communion is the means by which the Lord imparts His nature and His power into our spirits. “My Bible says it is the Holy Spirit that gives us the nature of Jesus, what verse can she cite for any of this? A heavenly Bible filled with new revelation. She says “As we drink in His blood, the light of His life fills our veins. As we allow the blood of the Messiah to fill our spirits with light, we are creating the same connection with the supernatural that occurred when Y'shua (Jesus) was raised from the dead” (Sid Roth website- The Power of the Lord's Supper: Ana Mendez Ferrell) So then Jesus life is not in us until we partake of communion? Again, my Bible says it is the Spirit, not the blood. Rom 8:10-11: “And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” “The thief that steals is wrong teaching. Jesus said, "Eat my flesh and drink my blood." We must understand this because it is Communion that lets us partake of all that Jesus did for us. We must learn that when we take Communion in our spirits, the blood of Jesus is literally invading us and filling us with Him" (Sid Roth website-The Power of the Lord's Supper: Ana Mendez Ferrell, Part Two) Whatever blood she is invaded by, it certainly is not Jesus’. The blood does not live in us (this is Ernest Angley’s unbiblical teaching) nor is it for warfare but for the cleansing of our sin so that we can have communion with the Father, live in a relationship with God (1 Jn.1:6-9). She has completely missed the teaching of the Scripture and listened to her mystical experience that communicated the opposite of what Scripture teaches. The word of God is to make us strong, and keep us in the truth. This is NOT the Jesus of the bible teaching her. The bible says communion is a memorial, a symbol of the actual covenant, it does not have spiritual nor impart power, the actual thing it represents does; and it can only do what the Bible teaches. Will the church accept someone that comes along to teach what the Scripture does not. She says it is spiritual food not physical, I do not see the difference between what she says and what the Roman catholic church teaches on the Eucharist. Both attribute to it something the Bible does not. What she is teaching is a spiritualized form of Consubstantiation which normally means the bread and wine contain the body and blood of Christ but do not literally change. Christ is actually present "in, with, and under" through partaking of the elements. Mendez refers to John 6, where Jesus says 'My flesh is real food, and My blood is real drink.' But where does the Bible teach the blood is nourishment? Her book...”Eat my flesh, drink my blood” "This book is fresh and alive with revelation concerning the act of Communion, a subject that has been misunderstood among the traditional and contemporary church. The Lord reveals himself dynamically in this book, to reform the most powerful inheritance He left us through eating His Flesh and Drinking His Blood. In this amazing book, you will discover the real healing manifestations of God, opening doors to experience a deeper relationship with Him". Misunderstood among which church? Not the church that holds to the word? Claiming her book is alive with revelation, that the lord reveals himself dynamically in her book is saying her book is as inspired, on equal standing with Scripture. The fact is she is not using the Scripture as the basis but a few phrases from it. This is bringing people to follow their revelation and become their disciples, the very thing Jesus warned us not to do. But what should we expect from one has the unbiblical position of a “General” in Peter Wagner’s apostolic army. Mendez: “When we take the bread of Communion, we are eating the very bread of heaven and the bread of life. This bread is broken for us as we contemplate His broken body. We are feeding our spirits as we do this. The study of John 6 is highly recommended for deeper insights about the body and blood of the Messiah.” (Eat My Flesh and Drink My Blood) She makes a similar mistake that the people did in John 6. If this was what the blood does why is the Bible missing this? This is a direct challenge to the word of God to be sufficient, it is challenging the apostles teaching of Jesus. Let’s look at how Jesus interpreted John 6. Jn. 6:33-36: "For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always." And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. "But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.” It is Jesus who is the bread (a metaphor for life), and it is by believing IN HIM, not communion that his life is communicated to us. John 6:47-48: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. "I am the bread of life. “V. 57-58 "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. "This is the bread which came down from heaven-- not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever." V 63 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” The theme in Jn.6 is to believe. Not communion as Ana says, the Spirit gives life by our believing in his words. There is no teaching of ingesting blood (spiritual) in this passage to have life or healing. in fact all of John's Gospel is about believing to have life (Jn.20:31) The Bible says the life of the FLESH is in the blood, not the life of the Spirit is in the blood. We have eternal life by the Holy Spirit indwelling us (rom.8:10; 2 Cor.3:6; 1Cor 15:45) Lev. 17:11: “It is the blood which makes atonement for the soul.” The New Testament atonement by Jesus was to make payment for our sins unto God the Father. The blood was sacrificed toward the Father to appease his punishment of sinners (us). Propitiation for sins is always Godward. The Father accepted the death of his Son as payment for our sins. It was between God the Father and the God/man Christ Jesus. This Propitiation to the Father occurred 2,000 years ago and is still effective today (Rom. 3:25; Heb. 2:17; 1 Jn. 2:2; 4:10). 1 Jn. 1:7: “And the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin” Cleanseth katharizei in the present tense -The cleansing is present and continuous (from Vincent's Word Studies of the New Testament). When we confess our sin[s] to God by faith, Jesus our high priest immediately applies the blood that He shed at the crucifixion for our sin apart from communion. He, as the Only high priest is involved in applying the blood. Rev 1:5 says that He “washed us from our sins in His own blood.” It does not get any clearer than this. It is not our taking communion but in the actual event, the blood which came from the saviors crucified body was presented to the Father once and for all. Ana Mendez’ Roman Catholic alteration is a false vision. Her ministry produces books and DVD’s under the title “Prophetic Direction” The book The Communion, Live Ministration of the Blood and Flesh of Jesus Christ - “Drink full of His glorious power, as you enter into the depths of His blood and body and partake in one of the most intimate unions with Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus is the greatest element of intercession with which Jesus prays for us before the Father, while His body brings us all his authority and virtue. Learn how the Holy Spirit unites with us through Communion.” Where does the Bible teach us about depths of his blood, that it is to be used for intercession. This is completely removed from the Bible that teaches the blood was for the forgiveness of sins and that communion is a commemoration of this act. Is not the Holy Spirit united with us as he lives in us? In her CD The Power Of His Blood -Prophetic Direction, “This recording is designed to release the Power of Communion God has given His Church. The Holy Spirit will manifest the unspeakable power of healing and deliverance through His Blood. …. This revelation comes from Heaven to the earth to proclaim The Power of His Blood.” So she is claiming her new revelation of communion on CD will do miracles! “Drink full of His glorious power, as you enter into the depths of His blood and body and partake in one of the most intimate unions with Jesus Christ” (The Communion, Live Ministration of the Blood and Flesh of Jesus Christ) Where does the Bible teach on different depths of the blood of Jesus? This is estranged from the Bibles teaching on his sacrifice. Our relationship is fostered by the Holy Spirit indwelling us. “when she feels a sickness coming on, she does it as a medicine.. Last year Ana discovered a growth in her body. She knew that as she took Communion she had fellowship with Jesus. She said, "When I take Communion as a medicine, I meditate on His blood - I see those wounds open up and I take the blood into myself. I told Jesus, 'Not one drop of your blood will be in vain.' I took Communion every day in this manner, and the growth disappeared” (Sid Roth website- The Power of the Lord's Supper: Ana Mendez Ferrell) This is an occultic healing method of transferring blood into herself by an image in the mind – she is claiming to gain something from the symbol of communion the Bible never teaches. I cannot find one scripture of the apostles teaching the church this method or the concepts she is promoting; surely if was so important there would be many. In all the letters written by apostles communion is specifically mentioned only once -- 1 Cor 11: Jesus said “ do this in remembrance of Me.” Telling us to remember His actual crucifixion, nowhere does Jesus say do this communion to get spiritual power. She prays, "Lord, as we eat Your flesh, I call Your power to penetrate the bodies to heal every sickness to let us eat from Your life, and Your spirit and our spirits become one spirit” (The Power of the Lord's Supper: Ana Mendez Ferrell, Part Two)Her miraculous stories on communion seem to be endless, “ On one occasion, Ana went to the home of a man so far gone with Alzheimer's disease that he was confined to his bed. Ana briefly visited with him in his room, then she and his family took Communion together downstairs. The power of that family Communion reached upstairs where the man was resting. He got up out of his bed, and came walking down the stairs, totally healed of Alzheimer's disease.” (ibid) Ana said, "Terminal diseases must bow before the power of His wounds, but it is not in pleading. It is in eating His flesh and drinking His blood and knowing that by doing this that you will have life in yourself. … As you do it every day, His light and His love fills you and drives out any affliction.” (ibid) So according to her without drinking his blood one does not have this power within their life. Really? Then she also teaches how the blood can be used for warfare: “One night after my return to Mexico, I suddenly awoke with the feeling that an evil presence had entered my room. My heart beat wildly, and as I opened my eyes, I saw satan before me. His body and his wings filled most of the room. His face was red and full of protruding black veins. His teeth were ferocious, like those of a wolf about to attack. His body was black and slender. His wings were like those of a dragon and appeared to be made of fire. His eyes were yellow with intense black pupils. He looked at me with hatred and with the determination to kill me. I stared at him and, to my own surprise, my whole being entered into absolute peace. With total tranquility I asked the Holy Spirit what I should do. He responded, "Manifest the blood of Jesus that is within you." At that moment, I saw my body turn red again, totally saturated with that wonderful blood that conquered the devil on the cross. I then put my total focus on the power that is within that blood. Suddenly, it began to shine. A powerful blast of power left the blood, like a lightning bolt of fire that literally electrocuted the devil, making him flee from my presence. The room was filled with the presence of God. My body was without any strength, due to the vast quantity of virtue that had left me. At the same time, my entire being rejoiced at the marvelous victory that the Lord had given me. God's army of the last days will be a people who truly understand the blood, warriors full of this power in their spirits, and totally undefeatable. The devil greatly fears those who understand this mystery” (Sid Roth’s July 2007 Newsletter Friday, July 20, 2007 By: Ana Mendez Ferrell The Mystery of His Blood). Who is this, wonder woman with superpowers. Well she certainly does not understand the holiness of Jesus’ blood and makes it something it is not. God is telling her to Manifest the blood in you- when its not IN YOU, this is completely false. And to actually claim her body turned red and a lightning bolt came from her blood electrocuting the Devil himself is just complete imagination on her part. I can’t believe that there are people, pastors in the church that will put up with this. The blood was between Jesus and the Father, it’s the new covenant. We don’t use it for anything but for cleansing of our sin. How do we know this, Jesus who was the sacrifice said so. Where does the Bible teach to use the blood in warring of spirits (Demon's, Satan), its not part of a Christians armor. The blood is strictly for believers to be cleansed. At salvation to cleanse us from our sins and a continual cleansing for us to have fellowship with other believers and communion with God (1 Jn.6-9),anything more than this is not from the Bible. She is driven by false visions, just like the Bible warns: “ In the vision her spirit was carried to the Holy of Holies in Heaven where she saw the Ark of the Covenant. It was shining with energy, like a dense, churning fire with rays of light flashing out of it. “As she gazed on the Ark, she saw Y'shua enter this Holy place, surrounded by a cloud of shining glory. Hovering in front of Him was a formless shape like a floating, red liquid. She knew it was His blood. She watched as He put this blood on the Mercy Seat between the two cherubim of the Ark. When He did this an explosion of power was produced that shook everything in Heaven and earth as fiercely as if an atomic bomb had gone off.” (Sid Roth website- The Power of the Lord's Supper: Ana Mendez Ferrell) So the blood was not there on the mercy seat until she saw it put there? Does this explosion occur each time he repeats putting his blood on the mercy seat? What day was this that everything in earth shook? Isn’t the place of the Holies of holies only entered in by the high priest? What do we do with the Bible that teaches: Heb. 10:12: “after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. Heb 9:12: “with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Jesus does not keep on putting blood on the altar. It was completed nearly 2,000 years ago, He said it was finished. His blood is incorruptible, it continues to do its work from when it was first offered. She goes on to say ‘Power rushed forth from the blood on the Ark and some of it hit Ana, making her feel as if thousands of volts of electricity were going through her. Her entire body turned red as His blood filled every atom of her being. She thought she would die from the force of this power, but she heard a voice saying to her, "My Father has received My blood and now it has united with His Spirit. Receive the life in My blood!" (Sid Roth website- The Power of the Lord's Supper: Ana Mendez Ferrell) So God the Father has the blood of the Son? Where’s this taught in the Bible? How can anyone accept this?In their August 2010 newsletter …“Scientists are discovering that our blood is activated by energy outside their scope of understanding. Scientists are unable to create blood because it has heavenly ingredients not found in our atmosphere. (I am paraphrasing)" “The truth is God’s Spirit is the source of life for all creatures and the reason He heard the blood of Abel crying out is because it is part of His Spirit" (Aug 2010 newsletter) Abel's blood is part of God's Spirit is an example of their new revelation interpretation, it is a leap into a false theological construct that brings further away from understanding the truth of Scripture. They are saying human blood (of fallen man) is part of God's Spirit. The next step in their interpretation takes one even further away from correct Bible teaching. ...."Therefore, when our blood is mixed with His blood our bodies are quickened by His Spirit and in addition, we are His Son." (http://www.voiceofthelight.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=66&Itemid=64) Our blood mixed with Jesus'? This is what is sonship? The blood is for the cleansing and forgiveness of sins only. To use it as she describes is to have a mystical sacrilegious view of its application and an irreverent understanding of it being precious and holy. They can actually say, “As we move toward the goal of One New Man, we are bringing the Gentile church back to her Jewish roots. This is leading to a mighty increase in miracles and bodily healing. “No it is not doing that at all, its mixing mysticism/occultism with the teachings of Christ. And it is dangerous and needs to be openly challenged. Pt.4 Further Strange spiritistic teachings
