pt.2 It is Satan who concentrates on the flesh, what is pleasing to the eye, not the spiritual content. The world is against God, and when we allow it it can be intrusive, shaping out beliefs and values into its ways. When those who try to represent Christ do not have a accurate spiritual understanding of why He did what He did, and allow other influences to reshape the actual events and words said, by additions or eliminations, the actual truth altered. It is especially important when one writes a book or does a movie that millions of people will read or see. Matthew 7:18 “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.” Corrupt trees do not bring the fruit of the spirit. What should we know about the ones who wrote and produced this film: In Mark Burnett’s article The Bible Brought to Life (also posted on http://www.lightworkersmedia.com/press.htm) He discusses how this project came to be. “Roma mentioned a documentary someone was doing on the Bible. Roma thought the documentary focused too much on showing that God was harsh and unloving. It used examples like the millions drowned in the Genesis Flood and God’s demand of Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac.” (Those involved in the new age movement are repulsed by God’s justice through judgment, this may explain the portions missing in the movie; i.e. casting out demons and the mention of hell is missing also.)It is after Roma brings up the idea of making a movie he mentions “I do some of my best praying when I’m riding my bike on the country roads near our home, and clearly this was something to pray about. There is a link to a FREE eBook A Prayer for Every Need by Norman Vincent Peale offered by his magazine Guideposts (Guidepost was founded by Peale in 1945 it describes itself as offering daily inspiration with uplifting true stories, videos and practical advice on positive thinking, hope, faith and prayer. Peale was a 33-degree Mason. He denied the necessity of both the virgin birth and the new birth.)They (the producers) have teamed with the psychic medium Jonathan Edwards who hears from the dead. Roma Downey talked to her mother through the psychic Edwards on TV when she was a guest on the celebrity version of “Crossing Over.”In the book Practical Praying: Using the Rosary to Enhance Your Life, by the TV psychic John Edwards includes a free CD titled “Meditation” by Roma Downey. Edwards encourages his readers to “pray the rosary” which are repetitive chants to Mary.Should a Christian be partnering with those who promote a different spirituality? As we will see by these examples, they are mixing Scripture with Spiritism. Roma Downey advocates the eastern mystical teachings of Eckhart Tolle, (via Oprah). Tolle mixes Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, with other religious philosophies. Here are few of his quotes: “...to such an extent that you can no longer feel your common humanity, nor the rootedness in the one Life that you share with each human being, your common divinity” “The only thing that ultimately matters is this: Can I sense my essential Beingness, the I Am, in the background of my life at all times? TO be more accurate, can I sense the I Am that I Am at this moment?” (underlines mine) Roma Downey has more than a foot in New Age. She is a recent graduate from The University of Santa Monica with a Masters in Spiritual Psychology“ (p. 27 of Om magazine interview).University of Santa Monica says, “Spiritual Psychology is the study and practice of the art and science of human evolution in consciousness...”Benefits of USM’s M.A. Program in Spiritual Psychology (first year). [http://www.universityofsantamonica.edu/About_USM/director_message.aspx] Lighthouse Trails mentions within the pages of a book titled “Loyalty to Your Soul” by Ron and Mary Hulnick (published in 2010 by the New Age publisher, Hay House), Downey endorses the book saying: “As a USM [University of Santa Monica - a New Age metaphysical school] graduate, I know firsthand the value I received from participating with Ron and Mary in the Master’s degree Program in Spiritual Psychology. I am so grateful to have Loyalty to Your Soul to sweetly remind me of all I have learned. Let’s just say that I went from playing an angel on TV to living more of an angelic life every day. The teachings in this beautiful book have sent me on a journey to the very center of my own being where, wrapped in the safe wings of Love, I feel as though I have come home.” Downey’s endorsement in the Hulnick’s book is nestled in with full-blown New Agers like Barbara Marx Hubbard, Joan Borysenko, and Gay Hendricks (The Corporate Mystic). By the way, Neale Donald Walsch, the New Ager who said that Hitler did the Jews a favor by killing them, 1 wrote the foreword to Loyalty to Your Soul!Clearly, Downey read this book and resonates deeply with it to say what she did about it. To get an idea of this “journey” that Downey is on, listen to a few quotes from Loyalty to Your Soul: “Center your awareness in your heart and consciously look for the Loving Essence in the person in your presence. By doing so, you’re signifying your respect for the Soul before you . . . In the issue she is featured on the cover we see humanity stellar code program (p.20) psychics and mediums, astrology, and the list goes on.
The fact is, Om’s spiritual guides consist of psychic healers and spirit guides. http://advisors.omtimes.com/spiritual-guidance As you would expect you have in it advertisements from new agers to expand consciousness, energy healing, quantum,) remote viewing, attunement, Yoga, Astrology channeling, it basically has it all. Considering that Downey says she loves Jesus, I see this as “the what behind the who.” And here is the most concerning and enlightening piece of information. Roma Downey, President of LightWorkers Media states, LightWorkers Media is committed to creating programs that are positive, uplifting and inspirational” - Roma Downey, President. So what, what’s wrong with this? When we learn what Light workers (the name is certainly representative) is about then it all comes together. As we see others who use the same term and what they believe; coincidence? As you read further it should become clear if hasn’t already. On a new age website called Lightworkers “As Lightworkers, we are creating a vision more suited to humanities evolving divine nature.” This is the new age message of transformation process into who we really are as we become aware of self. “As conscious beings we are born perfect, we have within us the seed of divine awareness. Enlightenment is our true nature”http://lightworkers.org/node/5297 While Downey has no direct connection to this website she does have the same spirituality. When I saw the person playing Jesus in the movie I immediately identified an uncanny similarity to the Jesus of the new age - Sananda. This is someone I’m familiar with when I was a new ager before I became a Christian, a strange coincidence.
The picture on the left is the “Son of God” in the movie by Lightworkers Media. The other two beside him are pictures of Sananda. Sananda is not Jesus. Sananda is a spirit being channeled by New Agers. Some may take the attitude of being happy that Hollywood actually produce a film about Jesus. These are usually the same people who cannot discern truth from error that is increasing all around us. We should not settle for the lowest common denominator. On the five-part, 10-hour dramatization of “The Bible” on the History Channel. Roma said: “In my prayer and meditation, I imagine somehow running into a stadium carrying this,” Downey said. “The light is not the Olympic torch, the light is the series. And as I come into the stadium, instead of people standing and cheering, I feel like everybody’s running down and grabbing a bit of that light and running with me.” (By Scott D. It may be time for them to do what was missing in the film.
