Is this Americas flashpoint? (an addendum on the Sept. –Nov. newsletter) The Mosque built near ground zero, the Quran being burned by a pastor in Florida are headline mews and stirring emotions here and a round the world. Muslims want to build a 13-story Islamic center and mosque and call it the Cardoba house and dedicate on 9/11 2011. Donald Trump in a gesture to resolve this heated conflict on the Mosque the Muslim group wants to build offered to buy out a major investor in the real estate partnership that controls the site near ground zero. Offering 25 percent more than what he paid, the lawyer for the investor, Hisham Elzanaty responded "This is just a cheap attempt to get publicity and get in the limelight." The reason all this is happening is because Islam, the mosque are not being addressed satisfactorily, our administration has a weak posture toward Jihad that Islamists are engaged in. We should not underestimate the peoples frustration with the administrations softness in dealing with Islamic insensitivities of the proposed mosque in NY. People have a range of emotions from being puzzled, to frustrated, to aghast and angered. President Obama has spoken of his support for the construction of a Muslim community center and mosque near the World Trade Center site. Many protest this from taking place (70% of America), saying it is wrong to build a mosque this close to the site of the Sept. 11 attacks. As someone put it “It’s not about freedom of religion. This is about geography." However, the Muslims involved in the project are not so sensitive to America’s feelings on this (see newsletter). Then there is Terry Jones, pastor of a small congregation in Florida that announced he would burn the Quran. I don’t support or condone the burning of their book, this is not wisdom; we should not provoke anyone. We are to try to be at peace with all men if possible (Heb.12:14), even those that may hate us. However, what this pastor has done is bring attention to Islam, in fact this is revealing peoples hearts, their true feelings on both sides. First let me address the action of burning of books. What of Act 19:17-19 “ Acts 19:17-19 This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all” This has nothing to do with what this pastor is doing because he was not a recent convert from Islam to Christianity. This is strictly a personal choice if one wants to burn what they were once involved with. The Bible does not tell us that we are to go out and gather books, statues, relics, from other religions and burn them. However, this is what Muslims have done throughout history, even recent history. Because of this action many are warning that this is going to escalate attacks. It will make Muslims hate us. Jones is not representing any others but himself and his own church, he is not representing the Christian community nor the US. But Muslims do not see it this way. So the campaign to change Jones’ mind was underway not just by the media but our administration. U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates called Jones to urge him to abandon the protest. General Petraus warned that this would escalate attacks on our troops and pleaded for him not to do this. The president of Indonesia, home of the world's largest Muslim population, called on the United States to ensure that no burnings took place, putting pressure on the US to stop this one act of one man. What of the threats by Iran’s government gives on Israel and the US, will any speak against the annihilation of a country? Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani said that U.S. President Barack Obama will be held responsible if the "Burn A Koran Day" takes place. Wow, he is responsible for everything individuals do, but Muslim governments in other lands are not. President Obama said Quran-burning plan by a Florida pastor was "destructive “ "This is a recruitment bonanza for al-Qaeda,” an incentive for terrorist-minded individuals "to blow themselves up" to kill others. As if the terrorists don’t already hate us and are planning attacks. Are we not already on the battlefield fighting those who are terrorists. If Muslims that are not terrorists are this unstable, willing to react violently and intend to harm or even kill people at one persons ignorant act (burn their Quran), than we are dealing with something far more serious than we have been led to believe. What kind of world are we going to be living in? We are told a few Muslims (more like 10% plus) don’t represent Islam when it comes to terrorism but when one man wants to burn the Quran he ends up representing Christianity, the church, America and Israel. And he is called a terrorist by both the media and Muslims! How does that work? What is being said to us is that anything said (or done) against Islam brings a reaction of violence, makes more terrorists. So by the liberals logic is that we should say and do nothing and let them have their way. Does Islam always threaten if they do not get their way? Does the media always sweep real issues under the rug? You can say this whole issue is heating up, but that would be an understatement. Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki condemned a U.S. church’s plan to burn the Quran and said this has been planned by Israel.. IRNA news agency quoted Motaki as saying. "Such actions will in the end bring a response not just from Muslims around the world but also from true followers of other divine religions." Do they really believe there are other divine religions? I have not heard this. Alarabiya news site reported The plan was "orchestrated by the Zionist
regime after being defeated in its efforts against Muslims and the Islamic
world," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said. So they already have been killing people without anyone burning the Quran! Anjem Choudary, former leader of the banned hardline Islamic group Islam4UK, told CBS News in London he was calling for, "an international burn the Stars and Stripes day" on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The religion of peace shows their tolerance by burning our flags and reacting to what an individual person says (not does), even if it is not our countries policy. Seems they need to learn about tolerance. Muslims everywhere are pleading for this one man not to burn the Quran. We can thank the media for giving this story wings when it should have never taken off. Headline news says thousands of Afghans protest burning the US flag (more like hundreds). They are protesting this pastor in Afghanistan where they don’t even know where to find Florida on the map. Muslims own history? The following is found in Sahih Bukhari: Bukhari: vol. 6, hadith 510, pp. 478-479; book 61 “Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman came to Uthman at the time when the people of Sham and the people of Iraq were Waging war to conquer Arminya and Adharbijan. Hudhaifa was afraid of their (the people of Sham and Iraq) differences in the recitation of the Qur'an, so he said to 'Uthman, "O chief of the Believers! Save this nation before they differ about the Book (Quran) as Jews and the Christians did before." So 'Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, "Send us the manuscripts of the Qur'an so that we may compile the Qur'anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you." Hafsa sent it to 'Uthman. 'Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, 'Abdullah bin AzZubair, Said bin Al-As and 'AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. 'Uthman said to the three Quraishi men, "In case you disagree with Zaid bin Thabit on any point in the Qur'an, then write it in the dialect of Quraish, the Qur'an was revealed in their tongue." They did so, and when they had written many copies, 'Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. 'Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt.” Uthman found seven different qurans, and there was fighting because of that multitude of qurans. Some say Uthman got hold of the Quran’s that were written by different dialects and ordered for them to be burned because they did not use the proper Arabic that was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. Others say He compiled all the Surahs to standardize the text and burned six of the seven qurans and preserved only one.The point here is that Their caliph Uthman burned the Quran. Of course for a different reason, to standardize the Quran, according to their own records.Let’s get back to Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who wants to build the Mosque at ground Zero. Because there is a pattern emerging that may not be so obvious to everyone. Speaking to guest host Soledad O'Brien of Larry King Live. told CNN "If I knew this would happen, if it would cause this kind of pain, I wouldn't have done it," “ that moving the facility could cause a violent backlash from Muslim extremists and endanger national security.” “moving it could strengthen the ability of extremists abroad to recruit and wage attacks against Americans, including troops fighting in the Middle East."The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack," "But if you don't do this right, anger will explode in the Muslim world," he later said, predicting that the reaction could be more furious than the eruption of violence following the 2005 publication of Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad” (Imam: Moving Mosque Could Ignite Violence Sept. 09, 2010 Associated Press CNN, via AP). The way I see it, it is nothing short than political blackmail. The religion of Islam does not give but takes; it goes one way, their way. Anything we say or disagree about Islam is unacceptable to them and they become vocal and hostile. The religion of peace shows their peaceful ways by threats? Why do people not see the hypocrisy? We would hope they would have the same respect for other peoples books or places of importance, but do they? They desecrate the tombs of saints in Israel, they burn other religions statues and we are not allowed to say a word in protest.Jihadists website are filled with threats of how this shows they cannot remain quiet and call for a renewed holy war. It is revealing peoples hearts. One person threatened to burn their book, and they threaten to harm people who have nothing to do with this. But the news is not reporting their threats, it is focused on the pastor. If the news had not blown this out of proportion none of this would be taking place. Let me ask, would there be such a reaction if he said he wanted to burn a Bible? How about the Bhagavad Gita or some other book? Would there be this commotion. If you are caught bringing a Bible into a Sharia country, like Saudi Arabia, it is reported they shred it, right in front of you. If you bring numerous Bibles into the country they will give you lashes, and with more bibles the punishment gets worse. In a turn of events the pastor changed his mind stating that he spoke with the president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida who told him the location of the mosque planned near ground zero in New York would be changed. But Imam Muhammad Musri said he told Jones that he could only set up a meeting with planners of the New York City... He accused Musri of lying and said the burning was only suspended, not canceled. Musri said He relented under the pressure from political and religious leaders of all faiths worldwide. Whatever the true story is it should make sense. Now ask yourself why would this man agree to stop the burning unless he was told something that would make him stop. He certainly was persuaded to not do this by something more than a trip! Now that Jones has cancelled to burn the Quran did Muslims around the world cease in their reaction to burn America’s flag or threaten violence. No, they actually burned flags when he cancelled his burning. Funny, they all beat the pastor to it, and he refrained. Muslims reacting violently to his intention to burn the Quran prove what, that they are peaceful! Why does the media get so fixated about this one occurrence when flag burning, bible burning and church burning takes place all the time in Muslim countries. When they burn bibles, do Christians react with threats or violence. How about when Jihadist Muslims burn down the places of worship and people. The beheading of Christians and servicemen continue; Christians are systematically killed in genocide by the National Islamic Front who murders, rape, and tortures Christians from Sudan. Christian villages are burned to the ground and raided. Christian men are tortured and killed. Christian women are enslaved and raped. Christian children are sold into slavery….but this one man has become worldwide news! In Indonesia, some 200,000 deaths resulted in jihad violence in East Timor. Christians have been pursued, and massacred, and their churches burned down by jihadists. . . . Christians are slaughtered -- Where’s the outcry from the media? The media would rather concentrate on this pastor and inflate this while the real news of the Imam of the Ground Zero Mosque goes silent. The mainstream media is more mentally imbalanced than they have made this pastor out to be. Why is the media more upset with this pastor saying he may burn the Quran than the destruction that Jihadists Muslims have been doing for years? This is showing the underlying problem; the hearts of people. It would be far better to hold their book up and challenge them to a public debate, would it be so wrong to have open discussions or debates with those who are qualified in these matters. Brigette Gabriel had a good solution. We should have a opening of the Quran day and actually read what it says. Wouldn’t that be enlightening to the media and to people. Lets have an open discussion. Will the justice Department denounce in the same manner what the Muslims are doing?
