That's Just the Way it is - for now

Benny Hinn is synonymous with miracles, he is also one of the best known advocates of the prosperity gospel, which teaches that Christians who are right with God will be rewarded with wealth in this lifetime. He is also to associate with the most famous prophets on Christian TV and has insinuated he is a prophet as well.

Over the years he has told on numerous occasions what God is going to do with America, and other countries.

He travels the globe in his ministry's plane, named Dove One, holding events he calls "Miracle Crusades" that include spiritual healings. Over the many years Benny Hinn has made himself out to be very close to the Lord, more than just a man with the healing gift but a prophet the Lord has told him the future on all kinds of things even his time of death. in 1997 Hinn said,  “I ask the Lord, I said, "Lord, how long will I live?" He told me, He said, "Sixty-nine. if you take care of yourself, seventy-three." So I want to buy a treadmill. [Crowd laughs.] I've asked Him these kind of things.  I've asked Him things about people… (February 28, 1997 Blaisdell center). If God is telling him these kind of things daily, why would God not tell him what is really necessary in life?

In fact, Hinn has said that he sees Jesus every time he prays. This presents Hinn in a unique relationship, greater than any apostle or prophet. But is He?

Or how about when the Lord said to Hinn to build a healing center, a healing and prayer center that people can come to 24 hours a day. While they said they were supposedly breaking ground it never took place even though Rod Parsley prophesied to Hinn his new  healing center would be the easiest thing he would do. Hinn asked the people that contributed if he could keep the money which totaled 30 million and use it elsewhere dollars.Oops.

Benny Hinn is famous for stating “The Lord said this to me” “the Spirit tells me” and “Something is about to happen.”  And he has prophesied numerous times (usually Dec.31) about the coming year. in fact Hinn has said every time he prays he sees the Lord.

But somehow the Lord never told him about his wife who recently asked for a divorce, which he says came as a complete surprise!

Don Price, longtime senior adviser to Benny Hinn Ministries, said the divorce filing took Benny Hinn by surprise.

The couple has been married for more than 30 years. Suzanne Hinn filed papers in Orange County Superior Court on Feb. 1, citing irreconcilable differences. Hinn says she did not give a hint to anyone what she was doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_-xLvjPJCo

With Hinn nothing is ever what it seems. He has forged an image that is solidified in peoples minds of being very close to God. If Hinn is this clueless about his own family life, along with others he surrounds himself with then how can he teach the word to the larger family, the church. If Hinn can't see what is right in front of him how can he see ahead of him?

The fact is, that he looked stressed for some time now. Of course if this takes place it is often devastating to the persons involved millions of people who follow Benny Hinn through Trinity Broadcast Network, and other TV networks. Some of Hinn's followers may want an explanation for the divorce but surely the real details will not be forthcoming.
Like Paula White who was divorced, this will probably not have any effect on Hinn’s ministry, since people are so Bible illiterate on these matters. They will overlook the consequences that brought  this to happen because of who they think he is and they “feel for him.” I can only wonder what kind of settlement will take place as a hush comes over all involved.

Hinn has had numerous prophecies over the years. Something of this magnitude can either sober him up or go into a tailspin.

April 11–12, 2008, Hinn taught on the gift of prophecy:

The anointing of the Holy Spirit enables men and women to prophesy, even if they do not have the office of a prophet (Revelation 1:10; 1 Samuel 19:18-24).

Hinn said  “When it comes to prophecy,” “you must realize that it is vital, you must release your faith, and you must learn to operate in the anointing through releasing your faith through praise and worship. The Holy Spirit begins to bubble up within when you worship intensely. Also, you must learn to discern the thoughts of the Holy Spirit, to discern the wind of the Spirit. Finally, you have to stir up the gift! http://www.bennyhinn.org/articles/articledesc.cfm?id=2132

If Hinn is so anointed, as he has portrayed himself to the church over these many years, how can he miss something of this magnitude in his own life? Makes you wonder what else is coming that Hinn does not know. Maybe we will eventually learn some details of what has really been taking place all along. Won’t we all be surprised!

The new Suzanne Hinn http://www.purifyingfire.org/partners.htm

Her ministry is to reach out and minister God's love to the widows, the orphans and the poor. This is her intent which is a good one and the very opposite of what Benny has been doing. But could this not have been accomplished before with her husbands ministry that took in a hundred million dollars a year?

To her partners she will send a monthly partner letter and special updates of new things that God is saying and doing.  Maybe she has made a turn,  time will tell if this is a reaction or an honest pursuit to do the Lord's work. I certainly hope it is.
