False teachers of our day copying the words from other false teachers p1.

Most think Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland are the originators of the word faith teachings that we have today. But they actually copied William Branham, and Branham was influenced by new thought teacher E.W. Kenyon, Finis Dake and others by those whom he associated with from the Azusa Revival.

There is no question that Kenneth Hagin took portions of E. W. Kenyon’s teachings, yet being a contemporary with Branham we find striking similarities with him as well. Before there was Hagin there was Branham. Many of these same topics he taught by Branham for over 20 years in his teachings.

It was E. W. Kenyon who taught on the power of words and the gospel that added Jesus suffering in hell to finish our redemption. Kenyon was also a friend of Gordon Lindsay who published “the Voice of Healing” magazine. Lindsay used Kenyon’s material in several books, including Healing the Sick. Besides influencing Branham, there were also his contemporaries, Kenyon is still being quoted by the majority of those who teach on faith and healing today.

Just like Kenneth Hagin took teachings from Kenyon and Branham, so did Kenneth Copeland. These are not revelations as they claim.
Let’s begin with the many similarities and shared doctrine of word faith teachers today from William Branham. Keep in mind these are just few examples of the topics

Let’s begin with the many similarities and shared doctrine of word faith teachers today from William Branham. Keep in mind these are just few examples of the topics

Nature of God

Kenneth COPELAND: "People have even argued about whether God is male or female. But the Bible itself tells us that He’s both! That’s right. In the Hebrew language, all words have gender. They’re either male or female. But the Hebrew word ‘Jehovah’ is both masculine and feminine. He’s as much female as He is male and as much male as He is female." ("Viva la Difference," From Faith To Faith, by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Published by Kenneth Copeland Publications, 1982, June 28.)

“Adam was made in the image of God. He was as much female as he was male. He was exactly like God. Then God separated him and removed the female part. Woman means 'man with the womb.' Eve had as much authority as Adam did as long as they stayed together" ["Sensitivity of Heart, Fort Worth, Texas. Kenneth Copeland Publications, 1984].

William M. BRANHAM

And man in his spirit was both man and woman.” (58-0928E, The Serpent's Seed, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

“Now, in the beginning they were one. God, when He made man, He made him a dual person, both male and female. He separated him in flesh and put him here on earth in flesh, and the female part was still in spirit.” (57-0414, Corinthians, Book Of Correction, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, In)

And man in his spirit was both man and woman’ (58-0928E, The Serpent's Seed, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

“He was made both male and female; the man was. The Bible said he was” (57-1006, Questions And Answers On Hebrews #3, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

The Gnostics (enemies of the Christianity of the apostles) taught man in the beginning was both male and female. This is also found in the Kabballah. Mystic Jacob Boehme wrote, “God created man in His own image. Male and female (in one) created He them.” (Chapter VII. Man The Life and Doctrines of Jacob Boehme, by Franz Hartmann, 1891)

Occultist Madam Blavatsky referred to the Kabbalah’s Adam Kadmon as, “the androgynous Adam Kadmon in her studies in Occultism (p.67 By H. P. Blavatsky)

there was a time when Man-in-the-making was a hermaphrodite, male-female” (Freemasonry and Catholicism by Max Heindel Part VII The Philosophers stone –what it is and how it is made.)

So we see this is not a Biblical teaching of man being both male and female in the beginning.

How Jesus looked

Kenneth COPELAND

“Jesus and Adam looked, acted and sounded exactly alike. All of God's attributes and abilities were invested in Adam." ("The Authority of the Believer IV," tape 01‑0304)

"Jesus existed only as an image in the heart of God, until such time as the prophets of the Old Testament could positively confess Jesus into existence through their constant prophecies." (The Power of the Tongue, 8‑10)

“The image being that he was a copy, looked just like, if you stood Adam upside God they look just exactly alike ... If you stood Jesus and Adam side-by-side, they would look and act and sound exactly alike....The image is that they looked just alike. But the likeness, is that they act alike, and they are alike ... Now here's Adam in the image of God, and in the likeness of God. All of God's attributes, all of God's authority, all of God's faith, all of God's ability, was invested in that man.” (Kenneth Copeland, Authority of the Believer IV (Fort Worth: Kenneth Copeland Ministries, 1987, audiotape #01-0304), side 1)

William M. BRANHAM

“when God made man in His image, the first man Adam, was a man like God. He was a spirit man. (54-0620A, I Will Restore, K.R.N.T. Theater, Des Moines, IA).

“He's fashioned like a god. He looks like God. Sure was. That's the reason God was man, man was God. And this is His offsprings: man.”“Man was made to be a god, a lesser god. He was made in the image and likeness of God. He had hands like God; he had feet like God, eyes, ears, and intelligence like God, his whole fiber, because he was a son of God. And the--Jesus referred to him as god.” (61-0117, The Messiah, Life Tabernacle, Shreveport, LA)

All of this is found in the cult of Mormonism that teaches, the Father had a form; that He had a head; that He had arms; that He had limbs; that he had feet; that He had a face and a tongue...” (Mormonism, Journal of Discourses, vol. 24, pp.371-72).

On God

Kenneth COPELAND

“God is a spirit-being with a body, complete with eyes, and eyelids, ears, nostrils, a mouth, hands and fingers, and feet.” (Kenneth Copeland ministry letter, 21 July 1977.)

“Now the span is the difference between the end of the thumb and the end of the little finger. And that Bible said, in fact-the Amplified translation translates the Hebrew text that way-that He measured out the heavens with a 9-inch span. Well, I got a ruler and measured mine, and my span is 8'/4 inches long. So now, God's span is a quarter of an inch longer than mine.

He measured out heaven with a span. A span is an old English unit of measure that's the distance between the tip of the finger and the tip of the thumb-a span. In fact, the literal Hebrew says that God measured out the heavens with a 9-inch span. See, God is not 437 feet tall, weighing 4000 pounds, and got a fist big around as this room.

So you see, that faith didn't come billowing out of some giant monster somewhere. It came out of the heart of a being that is very uncanny the way he's very much like you and me. A being that stands somewhere around 6'-2", 6-3", that weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple of hundred pounds or a little better, has a span of 9 inches across. Glory to God! Hallelujah! (“Spirit soul and a body” KCM 1985 audio #01-0601 side 1)

William M. BRANHAM

“He was made in the image of God. God had hands; God had feet; and so therefore a man was made like Him.” (61-0205E, Jesus Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever, Central Assembly Of God, Tucson, AZ)

Finis Dake taught that God has a body, He stated “The Bible declares that God has a body, shape, image, likeness, bodily parts, a personal soul and spirit, and all other things that constitute a being or a person with a body, soul, and spirit....” (Dake's Annotated Reference Bible: New Testament, 280; cf. Old Testament, 622).

God has a spirit body with bodily parts like man.” (p.56) “He has a personal spirit body; shape; form; image and likeness of a man. He has bodily parts such as, back parts, heart, hands and fingers, mouth, lips and tongue, feet, eyes, ears, hair, head, face, arms, loins, and other bodily parts (p.96.)

On Jesus - denying the incarnation

Copeland

"Why didn't Jesus openly proclaim Himself as God during His 33 years on earth? For one single reason. He hadn't come to earth as God, He'd come as man."  (K. Copeland, Believer's Voice of Victory magazine, Aug. 8, 1988. p.8.)

"Jesus hadn't come to earth as God; He'd come as man. He'd set aside His divine power and had taken on the form of a human being--with all its limitations." And, that Jesus lived on earth, "...not as God but as a man."

Copeland also teaches that Jesus prayed, "...not as the divine One who had authority as God but as a man..." And that Jesus never believed Himself to be "...the Most High God." (August, 1988 issue of Copeland's Believer's Voice of Victory magazine)

So many others repeat this Gnostic heresy as if it is biblical.

Kenneth Hagin

"jesus did not minister with his divine attributes while he was on earth. he ministered as a man anointed by the holy spirit. . .the bible says that jesus voluntarily laid aside his power and glory as the son of god (phil. 2:6-8), and ministered as a man filled and anointed with the holy spirit - the same way we are to minister." ( K. Hagin, God's irresistible word, p. 36)

Todd White

Todd White adheres to a Gnostic teaching of Jesus, exactly like all the other word faith teachers and Branham followers have.

He didn’t live as God on the earth…. “The Holy Spirit was the agency of God that rested upon Jesus’ life and when he was 30 years old and that Holy Spirit came upon him he went out into the wilderness for 40 days and came back out and went about doing mighty works.”

“Jesus is born of the virgin Mary, he is born as a man he is not born as God, he’s God’s son but he had, he was fully God and fully man, I’m not taking, I’m not taking divinity away from Jesus.” He’s fully God and fully man but he had to lay divinity aside to do what God sent him here to do.”

If he laid his divinity aside then who was sent from heaven? A man who became man?

Bill Johnson

“While Jesus is eternally God, He emptied Himself of His divinity and became a man...” (Charisma Magazine Feb. 23, 2012)

Jesus set aside His divinity , choosing instead to live as a man completely dependent on God .” (Face to Face with God on p. 108; Heaven Invades Earth p.79)

“Jesus lived His earthly life with human limitations. He laid his divinity aside as He sought to fulfill the assignment given to Him by the Father: to live life as a man without sin." ("The Anointing and the Antichrist Spirit." When Heaven Invades Earth. p.79)

William Branham

Branham taught Jesus became God on earth, he was not born as the God/man.

“... He lived as a man until He was baptized by John, at Jordan…” (54-0720A, The Maniac Of Gadara, Lane Tech High School, Chicago, IL)

“The Father didn’t dwell in Him at that time, because He come on the day when He baptized Him; he saw the Spirit of God coming down (See?), and went in Him.” (64-0206B Paradox, Salad Bowl Restaurant, Bakersfield, CA).

“He was–He was Jesus when He was born. But when the Holy Ghost came upon Him after His baptism, He was anointed with God. God was in Him.(61-0117 The Messiah).

“then John bare record, seeing the Spirit of God like a dove coming from above, and It settled on Him, and went into Him, God coming to His Temple.” (55-0116A, The Believer's Position In Christ, Lane Tech High School, Chicago, IL)

Jesus immediately anointed with God, He was just a man till that time, but now He becomes the God-man.” (55-0806, Jesus Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever, Methodist Campgrounds, Campbellsville, KY)

ADAM being God

 Kenneth Hagin

“God made the earth … giving Adam dominion over all the works of His hands. In other words, Adam was the god of this world.” (The Believer’s Authority, 2d ed. [Tulsa, OK: Kenneth Hagin Ministries, 1991], 19).

Benny Hinn

“What was the appearance of God the Father? Like that of a man...God has the likeness of fingers and hands and a face." (Good Morning Holy Spirit, (Benny Hinn, Word, 1991, p. 82)

Kenneth Copeland

“Adam was God manifested in the flesh.” (The Authority of the Believer IV; Tape #01-0304)

God created Adam and Adam was the fullness of God. (Kenneth Copeland, guest on Benny Hinn’s January 28, 2004 broadcast This is Your Day telecast.)

"The image being that he was a copy, looked just like, if you stood Adam upside God they look just exactly alike. If you stood Jesus and Adam side by side, they would look and sound exactly alike.". ..The image is that they looked just alike. But the likeness, is that they act alike, and they are alike...Now here's Adam in the image of God, and in the likeness of God. All of God's attributes, all of God's authority, all of God's faith, all of God's ability, was invested in that man." (The Authority of the Believer IV, 1987Tape #01-0304 side1)

“God's reason for creating Adam was His desire to reproduce Himself. I mean a reproduction of Himself and in the Garden of Eden He did just that. (Adam) was not a little like God. He was not almost like God. He was not subordinate to God even.... Adam is as much like God as you could get, just the same as Jesus when He came into the earth, He said If you've seen Me, you've seen the Father. He wasn’t a lot like God - He's God manifested in the flesh. And I want you to know something - Adam in the garden of Eden was God manifested in the flesh.” (Following the Faith of Abraham I, 1989 audiotape, #01-3001, side 1)

Copeland and others do not find this in the Bible  just as Mormons do not find it in the Bible.

"...Jesus, our elder brother, was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven." (from the second president and prophet  of the Mormon church inscribed in Journal of Discourse, vol. 1, pp 50-51)

William Branham

“Man in the beginning, when he was made, a man is a god. He's absolutely a god, for he was made in the image of God, being a son of God, and then he's an heir of all that God is.” (60-1218, The Uncertain Sound, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

God isn't without a body. God's got a body, and it looks like a man.” (57-0420, The Entombment, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN

“He was made in the image of God. God had hands; God had feet; and so therefore a man was made like Him.” (61-0205E, Jesus Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever, Central Assembly Of God, Tucson, AZ).

Branham describes; “God isn't without a body. God's got a body, and it looks like a man. (57-0420, The Entombment, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

He looks like God. …He had hands like God; he had feet like God, eyes, ears, and intelligence like God, his whole fiber, …” (61-0117, The Messiah, Life Tabernacle, Shreveport, LA)

“(Adam) and as he walked through the garden of Eden, first as a theophany (like the Holy Spirit is in here now walking in here), it led the animal life. It controlled everything, but it couldn't till the soil. See? So God put him in flesh so that he could till the soil.” (57-1006, Questions and Answers On Hebrews #3, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

Branham taught God is a man, others who are familiar with Branham teach the same. That man was made a god spirit first, and then put into a body on earth.

“Was God a man? Certainly. "Let us make man in our own image." What was God? A theophany, a body. And there man was made like that and put over the garden.” (57-0901E, Hebrews, Chapter Four, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

We are gods

Copeland teaches:

Every Christian is a god.” (Substitution and Identification)

“You don't have a God in you; you are one, (The Force of Love (Fort Worth: 1987, audiotape #02-0028, side 1)

“You are not a spiritual schizophrenic -- half-God and half-Satan -- you are all-God (Now We Are in Christ Jesus, 1980, p16-17)

When someone teaches this, it means they do not understand who God is. No creature such as man can compare to him. Isa 46:9 “For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me.”

Creflo Dollar

Word faith teaching echoes through the corridor.

“You are gods because you came from God and you are gods, you’re not just human. The only human part about you is this physical body that you live in” (Creflo Dollar, World Changers, September 15, 2002).

Kenneth Hagin

“God made the earth … giving Adam dominion over all the works of His hands. In other words, Adam was the god of this world.” (The Believer’s Authority, 2d ed. [Tulsa, OK: Kenneth Hagin Ministries, 1991], 19).

William Branham

“the soul in man is deity. But God put a soul in a man. This white cloud, Deity, came down, not in the animal, in the man.” (51-0729A, The Resurrection Of Lazarus, National Guard Armory, Erie, PA).

Man in the beginning, when he was made, a man is a god. He's absolutely a god, for he was made in the image of God.” (60-1218, The Uncertain Sound, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

So God became man, that man might became God--become God. … He become what I was, so that I might through His grace become what He is. (60-1002, The Kinsman Redeemer, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

That is a copy of what the Roman Catholic church says from Aquinas “The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods” (St. Thomas Aquinas, Opusc., 57:1-4).

Anyone who has an infinitesimal knowledge of Scripture knows man cannot ever be a made God, or be gods.

Branham: speaking of Adam “He had power like God: he was a amateur god. He was god of the earth, not God of heaven now, god of the earth. And someday the sons of God will again become gods. Jesus said so: "Is not it written in your law, 'Ye are gods'?” (62-1104M, Blasphemous Names, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

We are gods, is word faith teaching, it is not the Bibles teaching.
