The Doctors of Deception

Titles are used today by some of the most insidious false teachers to make them look legit, to impress the people. We should not be fooled by titles, we should judge the content of their teaching by the word of God.

There are diploma mills that give honorary degrees to those who would be a benefit to be part of a University. It also give credence to the recipient.

Jesus spoke of those religious men who loved to be noticed.

Matt 23:5-8 “But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, 'Rabbi, Rabbi.' "But you, do not be called 'Rabbi'; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren.”

Today they call themselves doctors, besides also called an apostle and prophet, this is beyond Rabbi (teacher) and makes them far more important.

Mark 12:38-40 "Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."

Yes they still wear long robes and look to be in the best seats in the house. The Pharisees dressed in long robes and let the people know when they were fasting, they had the best seats at any function or event so they could be seen

What is someone thinking dressing like a religious man? Mark 12:38-40; Luke 20:46-47

These men will tell you how much they pray, how much they give, how much for just about anything so you will be impressed at the religiosity. But if they are question then they claim you have a religious spirit instead of you being spiritual and testing them.

The abundance of false teachers today on the TV and radio are exactly what Jesus and the apostles told us would happen at the end. It is an overabundance.

No Christian would claim to be a god or a messiah, nor would they boast in their gift, power or prayer.

And if they exhibited power it can become dangerous because it just may be a supernatural force besides God that is operating through them.

The church is being filled with prideful ways of man.

Are you following these men, do you know where are taking you? They are taking you captive

Paul writes in Col. 2:8-9 “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” V.18-19 “Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind

They teach you their own imagination as if its revelation from God. They are very convincing, be sure you have tested them by the word being interpreted accurately.

Are you learning to attract and change things by words spoken?  Is word faith teaching your opioid?

Are you trapped by a teacher, ensnared in their ministry net? You expect a return on what you have contributed to them.

Are you controlling your life or have you submitted your life to God, letting him be umpire. 1 Cor. 6:19-20 “and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price.”

You have been set free, not just to have freedom but to serve Christ, a different master than you once served in the world.

Think on these points, because they may be preventing you from spiritual growth, they may even shipwreck you.
