In the services the Holy Spirit would number the demons; I would know the devil-possessed.  As I walked onto the platform, the Spirit of the Lord, even before I started into the message, would show me where the demon-possessed were sitting…”(Special Miracles June 1982 Issue By Ernest Angley)

Angley's specialty is exorcising demons “I've seen Satan; the Lord brought him before me when He taught me demonology”  (April 2009 Issue By Ernest Angley). He has unusual spiritual abilities:

“The Lord also lets me look inside of souls and see the darkness of sin; there's no light whatsoever.  But the Cross of Jesus lights up in the souls of those who are really living for God with no sin”

Angley describes his holy ghost healing “I also see the miracle glory as it comes upon people in my healing lines.  His glorious light goes just before my fingers, and that light touches people a split second before my hand does.  The glory of the Lord then shoots through them, and the miracles take place.  I know it works because that's the way I was healed” (February 2009 Issue By Ernest Angley climb that mountain)

  "All the power of the blood is in this light.  When I'm praying for people, I see that light an instant before my hand touches them. (The light shineth October 2006 Issue By Maxine Young)

Can anyone find any instance where God’s glory shoots through peoples fingers? Its not about whether it works but whether it is from the Bible. Light is the visible presence of God’s glory which glory was contained in Jesus Christ, seen only once at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came.

“I see that light again and again, brighter than all the television lights. I always rejoice to see the light of Calvary that comes on people just before I touch them, the light of divine blood. I see that light going into the person; I see it with my eyes closed or opened. It's the divine light in the blood. (The Results Of The Jesus Blood Test By Ernest Angley)

“As I preach, the Lord will give me His very thoughts.  In the healing lines, He will use my eyes and I see inside people; I see their diseases, their afflictions, their right-eousness or unrighteousness.  The Lord will let me look inside a soul to show me whether the person is saved or unsaved; there is no in-between” (The divine blood of Jesus controls April 2006 Issue By Ernest Angley) [underline mine]

Angley describes abilities (spiritual xray vision?) that no other person in the Bible has. This ability to know if one is unsaved or not only Jesus had, no apostle ever claimed this, Paul was unable to do this, he instead encouraged people to test themselves to see if they are in the faith. Heb 4:12 tells us it is the word of God that “is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”

Angley also attributes this ability to an angel (see pt1, he calls the angel of the Lord) “An angel stands by my side and directs me in every miracle service, and he even tells me things that are going to happen ahead of time.

“When the Lord touches my eyes with His glory, I'm able to see inside people's bodies and watch the glory of the Lord take over.  I witness miracles of creation and re-creation, and I watch as all kinds of diseases are destroyed through the divine blood of Jesus.  The Lord also lets me look inside of souls and see the darkness of sin; there's no light whatsoever.  But the Cross of Jesus lights up in the souls of those who are really living for God with no sin, and I've seen that Cross again and again” (Climb that mountain Feb. 2009 Issue By Ernest Angley)

Angley states in many of his crusades “People were prayed for in the healing line, and then mass miracles took place in the audience for mind battles, blindness, blood conditions, AIDS and diabetes.  Thousands were healed.

“Five hundred seventy-six people had been healed of AIDS since Reverend Angley started calling the Holy Ghost down, saith the Lord, and this was just the beginning. One hundred forty-one had been healed of cancer. Seven hundred forty-three were healed of a nerve condition. Nine hundred forty-seven were healed of muscles that draw and give much trouble and pain. Eleven hundred ninety-nine were healed of a heart condition. Fourteen hundred seventy-six people had difficulty breathing.  No more, no more. Fifteen hundred ninety-six were healed of asthma.  It's gone; healed by the power of God. "Twenty-one hundred people came in with a back condition," said Reverend Angley.  "You now have a good back.  Some of you were victims of accidents.  In the invalid section, twenty of you, your back has been healed." "Fourteen in the invalid section: no more AIDS.  Some are babies, and they're healed.  God's a good God! "Twenty-nine hundred people came in here with a skin condition.  Many had doctored and doctored for it; there is no cure.  Some had skin that was discoloring.  You're now healed, saith the Lord.  This time next week, saith the Lord, your skin will be clear. I would like to see documentation of any of these. This would be a massive undertaking. Benny Hinn claims but a few people are healed of aids, Angley claims thousands.

Charisma magazine also promote his healing legend: “After Balabyekubo died in a car accident while rushing to a rally he was to host for American evangelist Ernest Angley in the city of Jinja, Grivas Musisi, who served as bishop under Balabyekubo, took the reigns of the ministry. He led another crusade, where 300 hundred people were healed of AIDS and their cases verified by doctors.” http://www.charismamag.com/index.php/component/content/article/260-cover-story/13294-ugandas-miracle

Angley's activities in Southern Africa claimed that AIDS and other infectious diseases were cured by the healing power of God. No doubt God can do this, however authorities in South Africa cancelled an advertising campaign for Angley's ministry (In March 2007), based on lack of medical documentation for actual healing of AIDS through prayer. They recognized how dangerous it is to pronounce people healed of aids when they are not. If there are thousands of AIDS victims healed then it should not be a problem to prove a hundred cases. If they are not healed this could present a greater danger to those who think they are and continue in their lifestyle.

“After you put sickness under the blood and then have symptoms, more pain, consider them to be false symptoms.  What you truly put under the blood can't live; it has to die.  Don't pluck that disease back from under the blood to look at it and see if it's "still kicking"; leave it under the blood” (December 2002 Issue Embracing and Clinging to the Cross by Ernest Angley)

Where does the Bible teach to put sickness under the blood for it to die? There is no teaching for this.

“Anything you receive through faith you can lose through doubt. Many times people will have false symptoms; in other words, they will hurt just like they did before they were prayed for, but they can't let false symptoms take the place of God's Word. I felt pain after I received healing, but I held on to the Word of God and confessed in my own heart that I was healed. Finally, all pain left and it was just as I had confessed through faith. The healing had been reality all along. Do not allow false symptoms to work in your mind. Claim what God has promised, and thank Him daily for what He has done for you. ..” (HOW CAN YOU RECEIVE HEALING?)

This is straight out of word faith teaching handbook, the Bible does not teach Christian Science. Maybe Angley can put his toupee away and get his hair regrown. And what of aging? He says Adam and Jesus would not age if they had no sin, Angley claims to have no sin and he has aged. The inconsistencies are there for those who want the truth.

“Many of you were taught that when you came to Jesus, you confessed your sins—admitted you had sinned—and then all your sins were put under the blood.  The blood destroyed your sins to the extent that even God Himself can't find those sins.  Sickness is destroyed in the same way, but some of you haven't learned to put your sicknesses under the blood.  I plead with people to put their sicknesses under the blood—I've tried it, and it works, it works, it works.” (Ernest Angley, "The Power of the Holy Ghost: The Way Into God," October 1988) [underline mine]

Then he asks you to pray “Untold multitudes have been healed as they put their hand against mine on the screen, and you can have your deliverance. This is just a point of contact; I am not a healer. Jesus is the Healer, but He said a believer would lay hands on the sick and they would get well. I am God's believer, endowed with His precious gifts to bring healing to the people.”(HOW CAN YOU RECEIVE HEALING?)

Angley is another word faith healer that has a different view of faith than the Bible teaches. Angley practices the “point of contact” by having his audience to meet with him via their television sets. He asks those at home to touch their television screens just like Benny Hinn. And will at times refer to Acts 19:11,12 where there were special (unique) miracles by the apostle Paul by handerkerchiefs and aprons. Even though the other apostles could not do the same.

Like others he also has people Slain in the Spirit:

“But I don't want to be slain in the Spirit.  “Some big men have come in the healing line and declared to themselves, I'll not fall.  But they fell anyway.  We have so many falling in the Spirit it keeps my ushers busy trying to help them all up.  If you don't want to fall, just stand up if you can.  I've been all the way through the Bible, and the Lord never said anywhere that you had to fall to be healed.” (April 2005 Issue By Ernest Angley In doubt about God, do this.)

I’m glad to hear they can stand instead of fall, but the Bible never said they are to fall.

John 3:3. “Nicodemus didn't know about divine blood, about divinity coming to earth. He didn't know that the Divine One stood before him, that through His divine blood all things were possible, even to the saving of a soul” (The Blood Of Jesus By Ernest Angley)

Angley believes that Jesus divinity was contained in his blood and this is what one has to believe in. This is completely removed from the actual meaning.

“Stephen had divine blood flowing in his soul just as Jesus had when He was on earth. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people (Acts 6:8). How was he able to do great wonders and miracles? Through the divine blood of Jesus. Physical blood cannot perform miracles and wonders.…. Stephen was using the same blood, acting the same way as his Master…. Divine blood gave his face the appearance of an angel”(The Results Of The Jesus Blood Test By Ernest Angley)

Angley teaches the blood in Jesus performed the miracles and this same blood resided in Stephen.

“Adam and Eve still should have been in Eden today after six thousand years, but they sold out to the devil; and we have no record that they ever got back to God” (April 2009 Issue abide with me, by Ernest Angley)

We don’t? There is no teaching contained in the Bible that states this. Why did God instruct them to sacrifice (by his first example), which was passed down to their sons and even to Noah?

“I have heaven's biggest gun: the Blood of Jesus that can stop death in its tracks.  I've talked to people when the death angel was in their room, used the blood of Jesus, and the death angel had to move.  People have been brought into the services more dead than alive and the Lord has healed them” (February 2006 Issue “when the fire fell” By Ernest Angley)

Why was this not taught by the apostles? The blood was used 2,000 years ago and is still used for the same and it has nothing to do with repelling some death angel.

“We are without a doubt in the last days that Joel the prophet foretold through the mighty prophecy of God.  We are the Rapture generation.  All the endtime signs in God's Holy Bible are being fulfilled before our very eyes as we take this Gospel to the world” (December 2005 Issue “Go beyond” By Ernest Angley)

‘God will use the Bride to show great light just before Rapture time.  Circling the globe, His beam of light will shoot forth through the prayers, fastings and holy living of the Bride of Christ.  Heaven will operate in perfection through vessels on Earth as it did when the very Son of God was here in a bodily form. (The Bride, God's Beam of Light June 1991 Issue By Ernest Angley)

This is like the latter rain teaching of the bride transformed and rising up with miracle powers.

“The Early Church members of the Glorious Church were like Him so much that when they spoke, it was the same as Jesus speaking. When they commanded it was the same as though the Master were still commanding on the shores of Galilee. The sick were healed just as they were when He was on Earth” (Behold The Glorious Church! That’s an interesting view that is unsubstantiated by Scripture. The apostles were the ones that did the majority of miracles, not everyone in the church and even the apostles could do everything at will as Jesus did.

Angleys miracle ministry is off limits to be questioned and he uses guilt for those who do so “Those today who don't believe in the miracles of God do not have divine blood in their souls; they have no power over the blood to control the blood in any way.  The enemy controls their spirit as they fight the power of God, the miracle ministry” (April 2006 Issue “the divine blood of Jesus controls” By Ernest Angley)

“In chapter twelve we find the 144,000 now in the form of the mysterious man child….This man child is not Jesus; He had already come to Earth two thousand years earlier. This birth takes place in the Tribulation Period. Who then is the man child? He's the 144,000, the man child of Israel. This man child is caught up into heaven and the woman, Israel, flees into the wilderness.

Some feel the man child is Christ because the Bible says He will rule with a rod of iron. But in Revelation 2:26,27 we find that he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron. Those who overcome unto the end, the Bride of Christ, will take part in ruling the nations with a rod of iron, and so will the 144,000 Jews” (The 144,000 And The Seventh Seal's Trumpet Judgments By Ernest Angley)

Angley fails to see the past and the future in these verses.

Rev 12:1-6 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. (According to the Old Testament this is Israel in Joseph's dream Gen. 37:9)

2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.

3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.” (this happened with Jesus’ birth, the demonic activity was increased when he was born and Herod was influenced to kill all the children?)

5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. (Did Jesus not ascend to God’s throne? The church is called the Bride not a male child)

6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. (this portion is in Mt.24 and is still the future of when the abomination that makes desolate takes place in the temple as Jesus describes in Mt.24:15; Ezekiel 20:35-36)

“a male Child who was to rule all nations.” This male child teaching is from the Latter Rain movement and coincides with a miracle working church that rises up before Christ comes back.

Lets look carefully at Rev 2:26-29 "And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations-- 27 'He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels'-- as I also have received from My Father; 28 "and I will give him the morning star. 29 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'

This is a direct quote from Ps 2:8-9 “Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'"

Who is this? First we notice it is singular “He” “a male child” not a collective entity like the church- it is the Messiah only who is qualified for this.

Rev 12:5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.”

Isaiah 9:6 And the government will be upon His shoulder. It is His kingdom, “To order it and establish it with judgment and justice.” This should settle the point of who has the rod of Iron: “And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron” (Revelation 19:15).

“144,000 to be sealed with the seal of God. Some scholars teach that these 144,000 are going to evangelize the Earth, but at no place does the Bible indicate this to be true. Why would the Lord bring forth a people who have denied Christ to be the Son of God, a people who know nothing about Him, and suddenly make them all preachers? It will not happen.”

Isn’t this what Angely claims God did with him? I’m surprised at his view. Did God not do this with Paul? Does not God do this with all who are called from unbelief to belief? Angley’s logic is lacking on this matter. Instead Angley believes God sends an angel (a necessity for Angley) and two witnesses to evangelize the whole world. Commenting on Revelation 14:6. “This doesn't sound as though the Lord is using the 144,000 to evangelize, but an angel with the everlasting Gospel. Besides having the 144,000 sealed as servants (which means they serve the Lord) in Rev 7:3 we find a great multitude which no one could number have salvation (Rev 7:9-10) from the result of their being sealed. The angel that preaches does not happen until Revelation 14 (7 chapters later), which is after the mark of the beast is issued and the whole world is deceived.

Jesus in John 17:12 refers to Judas as the son of perdition, and II Thessalonians 2:3 refers to the Antichrist as the man of sin, the son of perdition. These two scripture verses, one referring to Judas and the other to the Antichrist, seem to be talking about the same person” (War In Heaven By Ernest Angley)

Well that’s an example of sound prophecy interpretation. Judas will have a separate resurrection and rule the world. Wow!

“Human tears cried out on the cross: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me (Mark 15:34)? Calvary's tears, those tears of love, of compassion flowed when it seemed to the human part of Jesus that the Father had forsaken Him. But the tears falling from heaven blackened out the sun, and darkness settled upon the Earth.” (VOLUME 1 TEARS OF CALVARY By Ernest Angley)

One would first assume Angley is waxing poetic, except that his doctrine on the blood and other core teachings are so different. He has a whole teaching on the tears as well. It wasn’t God’s tears that blackened the sun but a visible sign of judgment upon his son as the sin bearer. He further expands on the tears: “Those tears, the divine ones, bring in the lost. At different times the Holy Spirit said God's people must have the tears of Calvary in this the final hour of the church”

“My mind has traveled back to that terrible vision again and again. Sometimes I'll be in the pulpit pleading for souls to come to Jesus, and suddenly I'm in the vision of the lost. Suddenly I'm on the brink of hell, looking down to the smoke of their torment, and I think of that time I had no Bible. It's wonderful to have the tears of Calvary, to sow the Precious Seed, the life of Jesus, the plan of salvation; but woe to those who reject that Seed!” (VOLUME 1 TEARS OF CALVARY By Ernest Angley)

While compassion is necessary to reach out to the lost, the bible does not speak of our having divine tears, the tears Jesus had on the cross, in fact it does not mention tears, yet Angley says the holy Spirit taught him this.

How long did it take for the devil to bring this about?  The Bible does not tell; we only know that the devil never gives up—he will not give up on you” (The Power of a Thought February 1985 Issue By Ernest Angley)

That’s a nice embellishment on what really happened. It was not an apple nor did he continually do this to her each day. What makes Angley's statement befuddling is ‘Those who think they are too strong to fall are badly mistaken’ considering that he believes we are sinless.

“The devil can get into perhaps the first or second heaven, but he cannot enter the main heaven.” (War In Heaven By Ernest Angley)

“There is more than one heaven. Paul, for instance, said he was caught up into the third heaven. It's the lower heaven, not the main heaven, the devil has been able to enter; but he will be cast out when war in that lower heaven is waged in the Tribulation Period.” (The Qualified Can Plead The Blood Of Jesus And Win By Ernest Angley)

So according to Angley there are more than 3 heavens and the heaven Paul calls paradise of which he was not allowed to speak of and called it a revelation was not the heaven john gave a revelation about later. Presumably Angley believes as most Charismatics, that Satan lives in hell and comes out from below.

Job 1:6 “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.” Zech 3:1 We read of “Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.”

The idea that Satan is unable to be in the presence of God is not what the Bible teaches.

In Rev. 12:9-10 we read of the Devil and Satan, was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And in v. 10 “for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.”

He comments on Matthew 27:50-53. “Saints of God, coming out of their graves after the resurrection of Jesus, were seen in the streets of Jerusalem and ascended with Jesus into heaven. They were the early Gentile harvest, the firstfruits” (War In Heaven By Ernest Angley)

Mainly Jews were saved during this time period, very few gentiles. And they did not physically ascend into heaven with Jesus. We have the eyewitness record in Acts 1, Jesus ascended alone.

These are only a few examples of the different teachings and interpretations of Angley. Longevity is not the proof of accuracy and neither are touted miracles. Angley has been in ministry longer than many others but this has given him more time to say what is wrong.

A true preacher draws from the words meaning he does not invent a new meaning. Why do some teach what is not found in Scripture as if it is. To make themselves unique and gather a following. What Angley presents on TV is often sanitized and does not fully present what he believes.

Angleys interpretations are some of the most unique, incredulous and paralogic explanations I have come across. On his teaching of blood being preexistent in heaven and is the actual power in Jesus. The blood becomes the means of his divinity and everything done in his ministry. The Bible teaches that Jesus’ death and blood are not separate but together, they are inseparable stages of the atonement. For God requires the death not just the blood. It tells us to believe on the Lord to be saved Call upon HIM, not the blood.

On salvation he teaches we need a blood transfusion in the soul. That one sin removes us from the new covenant that is based on the death of Christ. Imagine every time your child is disobedient you say you are out of the family. Would that be spiritual and psychological abuse?

Angley might be more sincere than others but error of this magnitude is never neutral. Angley’s teachings are exclusive and unique, no other Pentecostal has claimed these abilities, though he has been mimicked by many.

Those in aberrant groups apply a different meaning for the terms and basic doctrines Christians believe in. Angley has not avoided this but promotes it. People need to read their Bibles more astutely and check on his teachings, he is not exempt of being examined by the word, Paul was tested (Acts 17) and Angley should be also.
