Unto them an Angel is Born The Jehovah Witnesses show their fear and superstition in many ways. The problem is that they are not consistent in their teaching throughout their own history, even when compared to their current position. But when we look at the Bible they are at the opposite end of the spectrum on who came to earth and was incarnated. In the Jehovah Witnesses 2013 door invite “one man died for all” the emphasis is on a man and his sacrificial death. On the flip side of the invite, Jesus is depicted as a short hair, short beard anglo saxon with his hands over his head being crucified. They write the anniversary of Jesus’ death falls on Tuesday Mar.26, 2013, after sundown. (the Bible says he died 3 in the afternoon). They teach an angel became a man. Does the Bible teach an angel was conceived by Mary? And lived as a man to be sacrificed for mankind's sins? Why did the angel Gabriel say He would be called Emmanuel (God is with us), he should have been called an angel of God is with us. Jehovah Witnesses write “But you may wonder, 'How was it possible for a spirit creature to be born as a human.” (p.41- 42 “What Does the Bible Really Teach” 2005 Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) The Bible does not say Michael is with us, but His name will be called Immanuel (with us is God) a fulfillment of Isa.7:14; 63:8.God became man to be our savior by a sinless sacrifice, that’s what the New Testament says, it agrees with the Old Testament. Who is the savoir? NOT Michael -- but the Son whose name is Jesus. 1 Tim. 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh” Still a mystery to a Jehovah Witness and that is why they can't believe in the gospel to be saved.. Jesus is called our Savior. “The Lord Jesus Christ our Savior” (Titus 1:4, 2:10, 3:6; 2 Tim.1:10). In Titus 2:13 Jesus is called our great God and Savior. Peter writes in 1 Pt.1:1 to those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and savior Jesus Christ.” Only God can be the savior, the bible does not teach an angel (Michael) who is a god (like Lucifer) was incarnated as a man through a virgin conception. So what does the Bible really teach? Certainly not what they teach. “Michael, the chief angel hence Michael is not the son of God and the reason is, because he has “by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they” (Watchtower .p.4, reprints p.48 11/1879) Then we have an angel whose name is above all names forever. Of course they under the instruction of this angel whom they call Jesus, they as God's only organization on earth can change their minds, even on what their founder said. But each time they change, confusion grows, the light is not getting brighter “Michael the great prince is none other than Jesus Christ himself Dan.12:1” (WatchTower 12/15/1984 p.29) Michael the Archangel, the first creation of Jehovah, before He came to earth and returned to the identity of Michael after his resurrection (Aid To Bible Understanding, 1970’s). They do not believe He (Michael) who is Jesus rose physically from the dead, but is a spirit just as he was before he became a man. While this interpretation suits them today, the Bible says he is a human, with a physical body, not an angel. Not before and not after. “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim. 2:5) So which Watchtower teaching does the Jehovah Witness believe in? The founder or the prophets of today that live in NY headquarters. The Bible mentions the angel Michael only five times. Three in the book of Daniel, and twice in the New Testament. None implies what the Watchtower organization teach to their members as the truth. Dan 10:13: “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me….” Michael is not THE chief, but one of them, which does not make sense if he is the head of all the angels, or as the Watchtower teaches - their creator. In fact the word one of is echad in Hebrew, meaning he is united with a group of angels that are termed princes; not distinguished from them, making him NOT unique as God’s only son. Dan. 10:21 “But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth. (No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince." Dan. 12:1 “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was." MICHAEL is the “prince” of Israel, a protector a guardian “over the nation Israel.” This is why we see him in Jude 1:9 protecting Moses' body. "Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Rev 12:7-8 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.” Just as the Devil is numbered among his kind, so is Michael. What is perplexing the Watchtowers changing position on this angel, they once stated to their members “You must worship and bow down to Jehovah's chief one, namely Jesus Christ” (Watch Tower 10/15/1945, p. 313) They instructed their people to worship an angel. Even there own Bible, which they considered to be the most accurate translation stated “When he brings his firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says, and let all Gods angels worship him” (Heb.1:6 NWT 1961 edition p.1293). So then we have angels worshiping another angel! Is that not idolatry? Who is Michael and who is Jesus? Son or angel? “Before 2 B.C. God's only-begotten son in heaven was called Michael, this name meaning “who is like God”?' (Your Will be Done on Earth, 1958 edition, p. 315) If Jesus is Michael then what Jesus spoke in Jn. 5:39 of Scripture testifying of Him, it is really about an angel, not God. Again, the Bible mentions Michael very few times. The Bible is very clear who became flesh and it was not an angel. Like the Jehovah Witness, I would not want to celebrate the birth of Christ either if it was about some angel come to earth; but it is not. Michael means who is like God is a question not a statement about an angel and the answer evades the Jehovah Witnesses: for it is not an angel but the Son of God, who is born. Exod. 15:11 “Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?" Ps .71:19; O God, who is like You?" Ps. 113:5 Who is like the LORD our God, who dwells on high" 2 Sam 7:22 “Therefore You are great, O Lord GOD. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears." Also 1 Chron. 17:20 Isa. 46:9 “for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me" There is none like God, no angel, and there is no other god (which they Jehovah Witnesses think Jesus is). That is the point of Scripture. This why they cannot be saved, they refuse to believe what Jesus spoke of himself. Even their founder Charles Taze Russell said that God created angels to remain angels. In his book, “Studies in the Scriptures” vol. I p. 182, he said, “When God made angels he doubtless intended them to remain angels forever, and so with men, each being perfect on his own plane.” You can't get much plainer than that. Angels, according to Russell were to remain angels forever. So how did the Watchtower come to the conclusion to contradict their founder? Today they hold the same position on Jesus. “The Bible teaches that Jesus lived in heaven before he came to earth.” Micah prophesied that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem and also said that His origin was “from early times.” (Micah 5:2) p.41 “What Does the Bible Really Teach”) This is a distortion of the intent of Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” The word everlasting is owlam it means in Hebrew the vanishing point; unable to be measured, everlasting would be another word for eternity in our language. The same word used for the Son is used to describe God, Jehovah, as the Watchtower wants to call him. Gen 21:33 The name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.” Ps 90:2 “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” It means continual existence, an eternal being, without beginning or end. So the Watchtower has intentionally changed the meaning to uphold their denial of what the Bible teaches about Jesus. The Father sent the Son, not an angel from heaven. If the Son is an angel then so is the Father, because we are told "who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person (Heb.1:3) Prov. 30:4 "Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name, if you know? Is the Sons name Jesus or Michael? This is what they need to answer. Where is Michael called Jesus or where is Jesus called Michael? John 3:13: “No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.” Did Michael come down from heaven or the Son as the Bible unanimously teaches. I Jn 4:14-15 “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” He was the Son of God before he was sent and he will be forever. You cannot be a true witness of God if you do not know which God you are witnessing of. Again we are To which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son, today I have begotten You"? (Heb 1:5) Is a Jehovah Witness willing to confess before men Jesus is Michael the arch-angel, that an angel died for their sins? Consider: “The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.” (John 3:35) According to the Jehovah Witnesses this would mean all authority is by an angel not God (the same way they believe all creation was by Michael the angel) “For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us “ (2 Corinthians 1:19). Were they preaching to the people about an angel named Michael? Where is the evidence of this hidden doctrine? Paul wrote “I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20). Would a Jehovah Witness be willing to say they live by faith in Michael the angel? Is it faith in God or faith in an angel. Jesus asked his disciples 'Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?'“ (Matthew 16:13). None of them said Michael, Jesus did not say he is Michael or an angel, not once - why? Because Peter confessed him as the living one, the Son of God who came from heaven. ...but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” (John 20:31). The Bible is making the point that we believe the Son of God became man or we do not have life. Are we instructed to believe Michael is the Son of God? They have invented another Jesus according to their own theology because they do not have faith in the word of God as it is written. Instead they have loyalty to their Watchtower Bible and Tract society interpretation, what it says is more truthful than the Bible. The angel Michael came to form an organization, the church is under God, but the Jehovah Witness organization (admittedly not a church but an organization) is under an angel; whom they call a god (how does that really work?) Jehovah's Witnesses today make their declaration of the good news of the Kingdom under angelic direction and support . . (The Watchtower. April I. 1972). "Christ Jesus is the head of the organization and it is always the head that directs the operations of the body." (WT 2/1933, p. 364) Then Jehovah is not controlling the organization but a angel called Jesus is. I seem to recall this admonition from Paul in 2 Cor. 11:4 "For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted-- you may well put up with it!" They put up with it well. Think for yourself study to show yourself approved by God, think yourself free.
