Is there a specific age of accountability? In Judaism at ones Bar Mitzvah (age 13) they become what is called a “son of the law.” In other words they become responsible for themselves at this age. As far as the New Testament there is no official age of being independently responsible, it can be different ages or different people as they mature. If one is using this to pinpoint a time when one rejects the gospel it is not applicable. The Bible teaches that we are already condemned and it takes an active decision of faith in the gospel to bring one out of the condemnation they are under no matter what age they are. |
