Does man have ALL authority in the same way it says about Jesus? p.2

Matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Notice both heaven and earth.

Matthew 28:18: Power exousia (NT:1822). "authority,"

Is given edothee (NT:1313). Literally, "was given," by the divine decree. (from Vincent's Word Studies of the New Testament)

Hath been given edothee (NT:1313) is a timeless aorist (Robertson, Grammar, pp. 836 f.).

Jesus authority was given by the Father, it does not say he gave us ALL authority? There is no scripture or the example of this being used by an apostle.

Matthew 28:18 he speaks here POWER or AUTHORITY committed to him over all things, that he might redeem, defend, and save the church purchased with his own blood. His mediatorial government extends, therefore, over the material world, over angels, over devils, over wicked men, and over his own people. (from Barnes' Notes)

So let me ask you a question, do you have this authority? Can you speak things into existence or stop things on

both heaven and earth. Can you order the angels, can you stop the wind or walk on water? Please send pictures for me to display on the website.

There are many claiming to have this authority, they refer to Adam ruling over the world in Genesis before the fall and claim that this has been restored to individuals and to the church. This is why they can claim they will Christianize the world. This is what is called dominionism and it is completely false.

Adam and Eve were the only ones told to have dominion and care for the earth. After they sinned they were put out of the garden. They did not teach this command again to their children. It was never repeated to Noah, abraham, Israel, or to the church. Why? Sin. How can man rule justly over all creation in his sinful condition. This is why we wait for the Lord to come again, to set things in order.

In the temptation “the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish” (Luke 4:5) Jesus did not consider this for he had a certain amount of authority as a man on earth and knew after he was resurrected he would have all this. He refused to take the shortcut.

Jesus near the end of his ministry spoke in prayer: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him” (John 17:1-2).

Jesus had exhibited the authority he was allowed by the Father to heal, cast out demons and forgive sins. "What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out" (Luke 4:36; Mark 1:27). Luke 5:24 “the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” power- exousia

At a certain point in his ministry he gave a portion of authority to his trainees, the disciples.

Luke 9:1-2 “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” Luke 10:19: "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Matthew 10:1; Mark 3:14-15)

Mark 6:7 “And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.” Notice they were in teams, two by two.

It was after his disciples were given this authority, in Mark 9:15-26 we read of a man brings his son, who has a mute spirit. V18" I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast him out, but they could not."

He answered him and said, "O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me." So we find that authority by itself is not enough, nor is it sufficient to do what Jesus gave them the authority to do. We in the body of Christ have a certain amount of authority but certainly not as Jesus has.

The Bible does not teach we have all authority today as Jesus does. Watch out for those who promise this kind of power because there is one coming that exercises all the authority he possibly can as a creature. We read in 2 Thessalonians 2:9 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power , signs, and lying wonders.
