How can we know what is the real Second Coming?
In Matthew 24:21 Christ declares that there is “great tribulation” the world will enter which will be the worst time that “ever shall be.” The persecution of both Jews and Christians under Hitler, or those under Stalin, Mao and others communists/atheists will not compare to this time that will be far worse. Christ warns (v. 22) that “except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved.” In other words the whole human race would be facing extinction unless He personally intervenes. At this time “a mortal more rare than fine gold” (Isa. 13:12). This time will be characterized by darkness and an outpouring of God's wrath (Joel 2:1-2; Amos 5:18-20; Zeph. 1:14-15). distress or tribulation is associated with “the day of the LORD” (Zeph. 1:14-17), the term “the Day of the LORD” is used 25 times in the Bible. It is the day of God’s vengeance and wrath upon a world that has rejected Him and His anointed one. It is known as “The time of Jacob's trouble” (Jer. 30:7), and the Great Tribulation (Dan. 12:1)The Greek word for distress in the Zephaniah and Daniel passages, indicate they understood that both the Day of the Lord and the Great Tribulation will be characterized by tribulation. Mt.24:15-22 in the middle of the tribulation a portion of Israel flees. Jesus warned in the end of days many would come and claim to be his special representative, they would even claim to be him. Matt 24:5 “For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.” They would also say He has arrived and they know where he is. Mark 13:21-22: “Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, He is there!' do not believe it. “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Matt 24:26: “Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it.” He comes back the same way he left Acts 1:9-12 “Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey.” Zech 14:4 “And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south.” The world will see him return, some will rejoice others will be afraid Jesus told the Sanhedrin: Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Mark 13:26 “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” Matt 24:30 “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Rev 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” The Bible tells us the conditions when he returns Two-thirds of the population of Israel will die in war, and God will execute His judgment on all those who have followed Antichrist. Ezekiel 22:17-22 First the Lord is to purify Israel so they are willing to turn back to the Lord. Zech. 13:8-9 And it shall come to pass in all the land,” says the LORD, “That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, but onethird shall be left in it: I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'This is My people'; and each one will say, 'The LORD is my God.'“ Zech 14:2-4 “For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle” Zechariah 14:1-3, and Revelation 16:14-16 occur in the final days of the tribulation, and John tells us that the kings of the world will be gathered together “for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty” in a place known as “Har-Magedon” The armies converge on the plain at the hill of Megiddo which is located in northern Israel about 20 miles south-southeast of Haifa. The Battle ends in the valley of Jehosophat, Zech.14:4-5. “the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem . . . in that day that I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem” (Zech. 12:8-9) What he will do - The world is judged Matt 25:31-33 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. “All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. “And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.” Isa. 2:2-4 “Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; he will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” There is restoration of nations Isa 19:18-25 “In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by the LORD of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction. In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Then the LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the LORD and perform it. And the LORD will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the LORD, and He will be entreated by them and heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria-- a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.” The devil is removed from influencing people Rev. 19:19-20:3 “And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. Rev. 20: “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. There is a restored harmony like there was in the garden, The lamb lies down with the wolf Isa 11:6-9: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” Isa. 65:25: “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,” says the LORD. Isa. 55:13 “Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” Zech. 14:11 “The people shall dwell in it; and no longer shall there be utter destruction, but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.” There is no more false teaching or false worship Zech. 13:2-5: “It shall be in that day,” says the LORD of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land. “It shall come to pass that if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who begot him will say to him, 'You shall not live, because you have spoken lies in the name of the LORD.' And his father and mother who begot him shall thrust him through when he prophesies. “And it shall be in that day that every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they will not wear a robe of coarse hair to deceive. “But he will say, 'I am no prophet, I am a farmer; for a man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.' Hab. 2:14 “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” Zechariah 8:22 “And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him.” Isa 33:2-6 “ O LORD, be gracious to us; we have waited for You. Be their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble. At the noise of the tumult the people shall flee; when You lift Yourself up, the nations shall be scattered; And Your plunder shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpillar; as the running to and fro of locusts, he shall run upon them. The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; he has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation; the fear of the LORD is His treasure.” Zech 8:3 “Thus says the LORD: 'I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the LORD of hosts, the Holy Mountain.' The only Messiah is present among the people ruling from Israel, both Gentile and Jewish believers will rule with Christ in the Millennial Kingdom throughout thee world. If Jesus is not ruling the nations at the Temple in Jerusalem then any man who claims to be him, is not.
