Is it correct to say “if the Devil makes a counterfeit there must be a genuine.” This is not completely accurate: While Satan tries to mimic Gods ways to deceive people, there is NO genuine for a number of spiritual practices that he has introduced. There is no genuine for the Ouji board, for reading ones palms or tea leaves for the future, or for channeling spirits (we do not channel the Holy Spirit). Neither is there astral travel or initiating communication with spirits, angels or those who have died. Yes, Satan does copy certain things, but not everything. He does not have an exact counterpart for God’s gifts or miracles. The Devil is ingenious enough to invent new spiritual practices besides copying; and he has invented many religions and spiritual systems. There are numerous counterfeits- for real dreams and visions, there are counterfeits for tongues there are even counterfeits for Christian churches, (the cults) that claim to believe in Jesus or represent him. Once someone accepts this idea of everything of God can be counterfeited they can be open to accept a false practice or experience as the genuine from what other religions practice. Accepting this false spiritual premise misleads one to the wrong conclusion. |
