The evil day

People are wondering, are we seeing the end of civilization and the rule of law?

Nearly every decision made coming from those higher up in government[s] is not right or good for their people, some see it as the very opposite of common sense. So it’s not unusual to wonder and question what is actually going on. In fact that would be the prudent thing to.

Accusations are flying in every direction without facts, unrighteous anger is rising prompting those to succumb to its influence as emotional traps are set everywhere.

People are doing whatever they want for themselves, to the extent of babies thrown in the trash, people being murdered for no reason,  for their race, just plain hatred and lawlessness influence their actions making the warnings of the last days ever so real in our present time.

What are you being taught during this time of choosing sides, are you learning truth or are you compromising your morals, integrity and even your biblical knowledge?

Does the Bible touch on these matters we are all living through?

2 Tim 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come, perilous especially for the believer, and Paul then lists the characteristics and actions of what takes place. We can identify them all in action today.

For the believers who live through this time we are instructed on how to survive without being damage emotionally, spiritually. Eph. 6:13-14 “ Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand

Make no mistake God sees those who do evil before his eyes, he speaks of this numerous times. It will not matter who they are or the money they have in the end, they will be judged accordingly.

What we are watching occur to whom God says, “ Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter !” (Isa. 5:20-21) It is when good is called evil that lawlessness thrives. For it says evil is then called good, so they do evil thinking it is good. He goes on to say to those who consider themselves the intelligentsia of our age, v.21 “ Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!”

Rom. 1:21-22 in speaking of God “` nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.”

1 Cor. 1:19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

The majority of Mankind has rejected God and his ways, and He speaks directly to them,

“They transgress and lie against LORD, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.” (Isa 59:13-15)

We watch their actions, Ps 94:20-21 “ shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You? They gather together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood.”

Understand why they come after you, It’s their uncontrolled sinful nature to hate all who do good and those who love and serve God. To them good is evil. Prov. 6:14 “ Perversity is in his heart, He devises evil continually, He sows discord.”

Jesus explains our nature “ For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.” ( Matt 15:19-20)

Mark 7:21-23 in addition adds, “ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man."

This is mans unregenerate nature without Christ.

Jesus also states, “ For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." (John 3:20-21)

We can sum this up by saying they don’t want to hear about what is evil or good, especially when Jesus is involved. John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil

As his representatives because they hate they reject what we say.

“You love evil more than good” (Ps. 52:3-4) “Lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah. You love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue.”

Ps. 64:5-8 “ They encourage themselves in an evil matter; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, "Who will see them?" They devise iniquities: "We have perfected a shrewd scheme." Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep. But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they shall be wounded. So He will make them stumble over their own tongue”

They comfort themselves in their shrewdness Prov.4:16 “ For they do not sleep unless they have done evil.”

The psalmist prays the prayer of justice, Ps. 28:3-5 “ Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors, But evil is in their hearts. Give to them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve. Because they do not regard the works of the LORD.”

Like David who wrote Ps. 38:19-20 “ But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong; And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied. Those also who render evil for good, They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.”

Ps. 37:17-20 “ For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the LORD upholds the righteous. The LORD knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. But the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the LORD, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish

It may seem for a time that evil will triumph.

God is coming for those who do this evil. He is not returning as Jesus the lamb as he did the first time, but a lion who slays his prey. God will determine what is evil and punish the evil ones.

We are instructed in wisdom to “ Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. ( Prov. 3:7-8)

Ps. 97:10 You who love the LORD, hate evil ! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.”

Phil. 3:2 “ Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!”

Matt. 24:48-49 But if that evil servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming, ' In the end there will be those who claim to be of Christ, in his service that say he is not coming yet v:49 “ begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards,” we find him berating those in the church and go back to living in the world.

Our being alert (awake) is more important than ever as we see the day approaching.

Rom. 14:16-17 “ Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil” People can misconstrue our motives and actions so the need to be careful, exercise discretion is necessary. 1 Cor. 15:33 “ Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."

Most importantly Paul admonishes us in Rom. 12:9-18 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil . Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”

Amen!
