Why the word faith teachers make NO biblical sense

Let’s consider for a moment that Adam was created a god, and fell (sinned). Than anyone coming from Adam has his nature. They also are fallen, sinful just as the Scripture states (Rom 5:12). The faith movement teaches when we are born again we are restored to the original Adam, we become gods like the original Adam before his fall. They teach the Holy Spirit is God who is in you makes you God, if you are born again, that You are incarnate just like Jesus.

But NOWHERE does the New or Old Testament teach this. In fact, if you look up the word gods, everywhere it is spoken it is a put down. Why? Because there is only ‘one God.’ The bible teaches that God is the creator of all things existing (visible and invisible), he is omniscient in all his attributes and characteristics and always existed before one thing was created by him. Therefore, logically, biblically there is no other that can be called God or a god. So they made up a new category and like the pagans who worshiped their leaders they are called gods.

In one of the few passages in the New Testament addressing gods in the plural, Paul writes, 1 Cor. 8:5-6 “For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.”

Here he mentions gods in plural. This one scripture is clearly not sufficient for those who want to be gods who can only point to this one place, as the Old testament makes it clear for over aa thousand year period that there is ONLY ONE true God, all others are false, fake, counterfeits who the pagans esteemed.

The Devil offering Eve and subsequently Adam to become what the faith teachers say of themselves. Was accomplished by their being disobedience to God, which had them fall into sin.

God does not make gods, he can’t! There are some things God cannot do, he cannot duplicate himself. The God who made Adam and Eve says he is God and knows of no other.

1 John 5:20-21 God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”  John who wrote extensively more on the deity of Christ then says, “Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”

The idea of more than one God has always been associated with paganism, and Romans 1 speaks to this. Rom. 1:18-24 “ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.”

Mankind had made themselves gods all through mankind’s history, certain aspects of nature, the creation, and it went as far as animals made into idols, the works of mans hands became idols, but it also included leaders. Pharaoh was considered a god; in the time of Jesus Caesar was as god. To honor them as men did is listed under idolatry.

There is little difference in what we see today and what is spoken of Paul and Barnabas in Acts 14:11-12 “Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, "The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!" And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes”

While it may not be an exact equivalent, what we have is men calling other men gods from their pagan culture.

How deep can one be deceived to believe that a creature is a god or becoming God? Satan lied to Eve when he said, “You shall be like God.” How? By gaining knowledge, which is the basis of Gnosticism, Occultism; a hidden knowledge. This is what the faith movement offers their recipients today.

So how do they justify it? They go to Jn.10: 30-35 to make their distorted point.

John 10:33-36 The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God." Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods "'?  If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),   do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

The Pharisee’s argument is that man, (Jesus) is NOT God. Jesus’ response is that He was sent from heaven to earth as ‘the Son of God.’ Jesus rebuttal was not saying he is a god like they (men) are gods, nor that they are gods like their maker. He was presenting himself as one having the authority of God on earth, that he came from heaven from where He was sent from. Jesus is quoting Psalm 2 as a put-down of the leaders of Israel being corrupt judges who were abusing their authority at this time. That they came against him and Gods authority. That if they as men are judges over other men (as God would be) they should recognize his authority as they recognize their AUTHORITY AS judges (Ps 82) were given by God.  But they did not recognize the true God was among them as the Son of God.

In fact, if one takes His words as interpreted by the word faith teachers, than what Jesus is saying is that there is MORE than one God. This would mean he is a false teacher because there is only one true God. All others who call themselves gods are false gods because there is ONLY one God, the creator of all things who existed before all things, according to Gods Word.

 So the word faith teachers position is to claim to become as god just like the Devil offered Eve  (and who also wanted this position for himself).  But there is no power ever exhibited by them that is like the true and only God.

If they say they are now “gods” like Adam was a god, why do they not have his perfect attributes or nature?  Why can’t they do what Jesus did that they apply to Adam? We ask this of the Word faith teachers of today? Can they answer this since they are little gods?

Paul taught that Christ (2 Cor. 4:4) ALONE ‘is the express image of God (his person) (Heb.1). that is why he is called the ‘only begotten;’ son of God. God does not have any Sons like Jesus.

The Scripture says there is ONLY ONE GOD; therefore any other that calls themselves, or called by another as god (little or large G) is false, a fake, a fraud, a counterfeit by nature. Genesis 1 says “In  beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Jer.10:11: “The God’s that have not made heaven and earth will perish.” This means all besides Jesus who claim to be God [a god], now or later are in the same false category according to the one true God.

If you did not create the heaven or earth, than you are not God. Paul rebukes the Gentile Church in Gal. 4:8-9 about formerly not knowing God, “you served those which by nature are not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements”

By nature man is not god[s], our human nature would excludes us because Gods nature is not as a creature.

God deserves our submission our worship and loyalty. One must think about what God is to understand the differences.

Deut. 8:19 “Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods”

These are those inside the church that claim they are (little) gods, to listen to their words you to have abandoned God’s Word to follow their interpretations.

2 Cor. 6:16 “what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people." 

The future is known to us by the Word that there is one who will come that wants to be worshiped, (in the temple). He is the same one who used this lie on Eve, he will teach all the same that he taught Adam and Eve. It has already begun to permeate the world  2 Thess. 2:3-4 “the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”

This is a double application, one is spiritual, as the spirit of antichrist that is now at work in the world. Another application that is the fulfillment is literal, it will take place as the last authoritarian comes. As the great deceiver he will reveal his intent, claiming this for himself as he sits in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem replacing God who alone is to be worshiped in, calling himself God.

The spirit of antichrist is the preparing the world to accept the false Christ as God, by first having one think they too are a god. For people to accept this (Christian or not) they replace the only God who became man who is equal to God (Philippians 2:5-8) with ourselves as equals. This is exactly what the word faith teachers are leading the church to believe. Once they accept this concept they will recognize his declaration of being God as he exalts himself in the temple of God.

1 Cor. 12:2-3 “You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.”

To call Jesus Lord means he alone is Christ, having to do with his one-time incarnation as Jesus. That the Messiah alone is Lord, God who became man, who is the ONLY God/man and will submit to him. They deny this in many ways such as stating we too are little messiahs which challenges Jesus as the Lord incarnate. "Lord" is the Septuagint’s translation for the name Yahweh, master of all.

To accurse Jesus is what they say when they teach he became sinful at the crucifixion and finished the redemption in hell, (they almost all unanimously agree on this point). So he was not the sinless lamb sacrificed, but severely blemished. The Greek word is anathema, meaning doomed to destruction. This is blasphemy to his name and work.

One more thing to consider, if you give to support these men’s ministry this is like an offering to idols.  When you support false teachers, of which these are the worst of all you receive what they will receive in the end, and it will not be a blessing (Mt.7:21-22), but punishment will be distributed to all misleading the church and those following them in the church.
