Why the faith teachers make NO biblical sense Let’s consider for a moment that Adam was created a god, and fell (sinned). Than anyone coming from Adam has his nature and must also fallen, sinful just as the Scripture states (Rom 5:12). The faith movement instead claims when we are born again we become gods like the original Adam before his fall. They teach the Holy Spirit is God who is in you makes you God. If you are born again, You are incarnate just like Jesus. But nowhere does the New or Old Testament teach this. In fact, if you look up the word gods, everywhere it is spoken it is a put down. Why? Because there is only ‘one God.’ They lie when they say we are little gods. In one of the few passages in the New Testament addressing gods in the plural, Paul writes, 1 Cor. 8:5-6 “For even if there are so-called gods , whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” This one scripture is clearly not sufficient for those who want to be gods who can only point to this one place, the Devil offering Eve and subsequently Adam to become this was by their being disobedience to God, which had them fall into sin. God does not make gods, he can’t. The God who made Adam and Eve says he is God and knows of no other! .Isa. 46:5"To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal And compare Me, that we should be alike? The idea of more than one God has always been associated with paganism, and Romans 1 speaks to this. Rom. 1:18-24 “ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.” Mankind had made themselves gods all through mankind’s history, and it went as far as animals and idols, and the works of our hands. All are listed under idolatry. How deep can one be deceived to believe that a creature is a god or becoming God? Satan lied to Eve when he said, “You shall be like God.” How? By knowledge, which is the basis of Gnosticism, Occultism, hidden knowledge. So how do they justify it? They often go to Jn.10: 30-35 to make their point. John 10:33-36 The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God." Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods "'? If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? The Pharisee’s argument is that man is not God, Jesus’ response is that he was sent from heaven to earth as the Son of God. Jesus was not saying he is a god like they (men ) are gods, nor that they are gods like their maker. He was presenting himself as one having the authority of God, that was from heaven from where He was sent from. Psalm 2 Jesus is quoting from is a put-down of the leaders as corrupt judges who were abusing their authority. That if they as men are judges over other men (as God would be) they should recognize his authority as they recognize their AUTHORITY AS judges (Ps 82) were given by God. But they did not recognize the true God was among them as the Son of God. In fact, if one takes His words as interpreted by the word faith teachers, than what Jesus is saying is that there is more than one God. This would mean he is a false teacher because there is only one true God, all others are false, according to God. So the word faith teachers position is to claim to become god just like the Devil offered Eve (who wants this position for himself) but there is no power ever exhibited by them like the true and only God possesses.. Paul taught that Christ (2 Cor. 4:4) ALONE ‘is the express image of God (his person) (Heb.1). that is why he is called the ‘only begotten.’ The Scripture says there is ONLY ONE GOD; therefore any other that is called god is false, a fake, a counterfeit by nature. Genesis 1 says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Jer.10:11: “The God’s that have not made heaven and earth will perish.” This means all besides Jesus, all who claim to be God [a god], now or later are in the same false category according to the one true God. If you did not create the heaven or earth, then you are not God. If we are God or “gods” why do we not have his perfect attributes or nature? Paul speaking of the Gentiles “when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?” (Gal 4:8-9) By nature are not gods, our human nature would excludes us because Gods nature is not for creatures. God deserves our submission our worship and loyalty. One must think about what God is to understand the differences. Deut 8:19 Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods, These are those inside the church that claim they are gods when you listen to their words to have abandoned Gods' Word. We are told to flee from idolatry1 Cor. 10:14; 1 John 5:21 keep yourselves from idols 2 Cor 6:16 “what agreement has the temple of God with idols ? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people." The future expresses to us the one who will come that wants to be worshiped, the same one who used the lie on Eve. And he will teach us the same he taught Adam and Eve. 2 Thess. 2:3-4 “the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” The spirit of antichrist is the preparing the world to accept the false Christ as God, he has one think they too are a god, for it replaces the only God/man who is equal to God, Jesus (Philippians 2:5-8) with ourselves as equal. |
