Isaiah 55 - Living water Isaiah in chapter 55 gives an evangelistic invitation to the
world to come to waters of life, whom we know is the Messiah Jesus. For only He
can quench our spiritual thirst, and He offers it for free. This is a bible based evangelistic teaching, to encourage all to go to Jesus being the water of life (and the bread of life) who alone can satisfy the soul. For faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. As Peter said, only you have the words of eternal life. Gods nature and ways are revealed by the prophet as He 'sent His Word to heal us,' it is like water to our soul dying of thirst. The prophet proclaims 'Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters. 'Water is the main symbol for the Word throughout the Scripture. It is also what Jesus offered for himself. The prophet says for God; Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live. As Jesus said come unto me and that whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. This is a good evangelistic tool for those who are not believers as well as for those who are following teachers who do not use the Word correctly and in error.
