A sin offering - not an offering of Sin! So many complicate the simple gospel. This can take place for various reasons, some from their own misunderstanding, others try to ameliorate it. You can be sure that when they teach Jesus became sinful or a sinner on the cross and then went to hell to pay for our sins that is not the Bibles Gospel. They either know this fact of the Bible and are unsaved by the true gospel, or, they are in error, being mislead and misleading others. However, when shown they are wrong from the Scripture will they submit to the Word of God and the truth and admit it? If not then they solidify they are not saved by the true Gospel, nor the real Jesus. Because genuine believers want to know what is true and not be misled. If you are listening to their error (no matter what else right they have) you are being misled and are participating in a false gospel. “Jesus was our sin-offering,” he did NOT become sin in his Spirit. His spirit is God. The Bible again and again states that Jesus offered up His body as the sacrifice for our sins, and that He was put to death,” IN THE FLESH.” Nowhere does it say Jesus died in His Spirit. 1Pet.2:24 “Who His ownself bare our sins IN HIS BODY on the tree…” The flesh has the blood, not the Spirit. 1 Pet.3:18 “…..being put to death IN THE FLESH, and quickened by the Spirit[ as inRom.8:11 -raised from the dead by the Spirit] 1 Pet. 4:1 “ Forasmuch then Christ hath suffered for us IN THE FLESH.” John 6:51 “ I am the living bread which came down from heaven….and the bread that I will give is MY FLESH, which I will give for the life of the world.” Col.1:21-22 “And you….hath He reconciled IN THE BODY OF HIS FLESH through death…” Heb.10:10 “….we are sanctified through the offering of the BODY OF JESUS once for all.” Eph.2:15 “Having abolished IN HIS FLESH the enmity, even the law of commandments…” These are just a few Scriptures that prove that Jesus died in the flesh only and not in His Spirit! This does not mean his spirit was not affected, afflicted by the separation he experienced, and we cannot fully know the depth of suffering he went through in his body, which included his soul and Spirit when being crucified. Yet there are some real departures of Scripture being taught by those who claim to be ‘word/faith’ on this topic. What we learn from Scripture is the very opposite of the word faith teachers that claim, that “he became sin and then went to hell for our punishment.” Heb. 9:28 “Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many.”That offering was his crucifixion, there was no more suffering after He said it is finished, the covenant by blood was completed. I Corinthians 12:3 states that no man can say: Jesus is Lord [except of] the Holy Spirit. To be accurate Lord acknowledges “him as being God” which the cults do not do. And How can he be Lord if he became sin on the cross? And then went to hell to be tortured as some claim? So this clearly becomes a different gospel that can save no one. |
