The rider of the first horse The tribulation begins with a peace covenant,(treaty) between the enemies of Israel and Israel itself so that prophecy can be fulfilled. Since the tribulation is the last 7 of the 70x 7s, we understand from Daniel it to last 7 years (divided in two halves, 1,260 days, 3 1/2 years) From the Bible’s explanation, we should understand we are NOT in the Tribulation yet. Here is an overview of what will first take place. Rev. 6:1-2 John watches as “the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.” The first seal releases a rider, the first of four horses. He comes riding on a white horse (representing a victor, he claims to be a man making peace). Revelation 6:2, He has a crown, meaning He is a king of a nation, and he carries a bow. One of the main weapons in war to kill was a sword. A bow is more often used in a distance. Since no arrows are mentioned, he gains his victory for peace without arrows being launched. Without military action, but by speaking. This rider has deception accompany him as he makes peace by going to the nations with the intent of convincing them of his plan. We find that he is the one that will sign the peace treaty on behalf with Israel. Elsewhere we find him guarantee of Israel’s safety in the land (Dan.9). “he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue” (Daniel 11:21)v.24 “He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province” Any peace is then taken from the earth when the second seal is opened. For his agenda has no desire for actual peace, but for domination and control. Dan 9:27 “he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate.” As Jeremiah says "We looked for peace, but no good came; And for a time of health, and there was trouble! (Jer. 8:15 and Obadiah 7) Rev 11:3 during this first half of the tribulation in Jerusalem “two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." They will rebuke Israel for their peace treaty and warn them of what is coming His covenant is fake and lasts up until the middle of the Tribulation where he abruptly stops the sacrifices made in the third temple built in Jerusalem. This is done because halfway through he will exalt himself to be God (2 Thess. 2). Dan 11:36 “The king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done This is the warning Jesus gave in Matt 24:15-16 “Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” This then turns into the worst time of mankind's history. Matt 24:21 “since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Let’s sum out what we see from Scripture. Israel has an agreement with its neighbors, this is made specifically for the length of the Tribulation. A temple in Jerusalem needs to be built, sacrifices will begin, which means a priesthood will be functioning. There are two prophets are in Jerusalem Rev 11:5 no one can harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies.” In fact v.6 they stop rain from coming to Israel. The covenant is broken after 1,260 days as the man who has the crown enters the temple declaring himself to be God. Do not be deceived by those who claim we are in the Tribulation now, or that the Abrahamic accords is the covenant made. They are part of the many false prophets that Jesus warned would come. |
