The Hour that is coming Throughout the Scripture we have a phrase that is used mostly for judgment, about a reserved time or specific time toward mankind that comes about and quickly commences. Dan. 4:33 That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen Dan. 5:5-6 In the same hour the fingers of a man's hand appeared and wrote opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace; and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote . In the New Testament we also have this phrase. Matt 25:13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Meaning to be on your guard, it can occur at any time We are continually being tested by the hardships of the world. 1 Peter 1:6-8 though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. We will give thanks to the Lord who was there with us during the trial and what he brought out of us from the trial. Ps .11:4-6 The LORD's throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates. Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup. Jer. 20:12 but, O LORD of hosts, You who test the righteous, And see the mind and heart God knows what is in the heart of men but wants us to know our own heart as it sometimes eludes us how we are thinking or acting. Jer. 17:10 the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings . God will test his people according to his purposes. Rv. 3:3 hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. We need our eyes open especially in the time we live in. A test for the whole world Rv. 3:10-11 I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. No this does not mean there will be a trial that will last one hour, but the timing of this trial is at the end of the age as the world enters the most difficult time of its history. Dan 3:10-12 Nebuchadnezzar who was ruler of the worlds kingdom at the time, had a law enforced for the people to fall down and worship the gold image; and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace . Certain Jews: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego refused to worship the image and were cast into the fiery furnace whose heat was turned up 7 times. As the king looked he was amazed, saying " I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God ." They found themselves among another, v.25. We will all be tested in the end, one way or another, some more intense than others, will our faith come forth as gold? Prv. 17:3 The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the LORD tests the hearts. Isa. 48:10-11 Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it. There were those who tested Jesus with their questions, and there is coming a time when God will do the same. At this time He will test the whole nation of Israel to save them, Zech. 13:9 I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, 'This is My people'; And each one will say, 'The LORD is my God .'"
