There is no Sabbath command for man to obey before Moses “you can search the scriptures in vain for a Sabbath that man rested on before Moses’ time.” 7th day proponents all have the same arguments that fail because of a number of reasons, they do not consider all the scriptures on the topic. They pick and choose .The Sabbath is not a moral command. they make this as part of the 10 commands to Israel as if they all go together from when God rested on the 7 th day in Genesis. They do not. It says only God rested, not man. Gn.2:3 Why are there no commands for God against murder, adultery in Genesis? The Bibles answer --first, man is made in the image and likeness of God therefore he would know what is wrong such as to kill, that is why Cain was punished, or it would not be justified. The Bible does have a command on killing in Gen. 9:6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man.’ This is my point on man being made in Gods image and likeness. The only time work is mentioned after the fall it does not have any such commands of rest, i.e 7th day. Gen 5:29 This one (Noah) will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed." Sabbatarian’s do not obey the Sabbath command, because it has within it to work 6 days not 5. If you do not work these 6 days (Ex.16:26; 20:9;23:12;31:15; 34:21;35:2) you have broken the command, for it is not just mentioning the 7th day, but 6 other days. The 6 days is a qualification that is often separated to only focus on the 7th day. Genesis does not have the Sabbath command for man to rest, nor the 6 days to work. It was given to a nation called Israel, not the world. Given to Israel (Ex.16:29) This needs to be considered to understand the truth of this matter. Ex 31:16-17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshe d.' Since Israel was not in existence until After Abraham was called, there was no Sabbath for man. God made a covenant with Abraham and did not have the Sabbath command mentioned. Ex 34:27 To Moses,“I have made a covenant with you and with Israel . The covenant to Israel is established by the ten commands Ex34:28, (Lev.26:44-45) it is not the same covenant made with Abraham. Consider all that is written from the Bible not just portions in piecemeal and one will discover the truth. |
