Rome and the shunning of the bible p.1 For 600 years the Roman Catholic Church attempted to keep vernacular translations of the Bible out of the hands of the people. In the year 1215 Pope Innocent III (who was not innocent) issued a law commanding “that they shall be seized for trial and penalties,WHO ENGAGE IN THE TRANSLATION OF THE SACRED VOLUMES” This in history was called the “Dark Ages,” and rightly so, but it really was the age of severe control by a False emperor using a false Peter. Today we have more bibles distributed than any other time in history and the knowledge of the Word is still lacking because of people not reading it daily or by listening to others who teach it incorrectly. Because of misled misinterpretations, or not by reading it to learn, it means one is prevented from being a disciple. This is found in Roman Catholicism that ignore the meaning and in many Pentecostal protestants that hype and exaggerate the Word. The words of the Bible have no power as words on paper unless they are understood and lived by people through the Spirit of God, who is the Spirit of truth. Holy Men who wrote the words (prophets) chosen of God for all generations to know what God has Said. As Jesus told us he would send another like himself to be with us who receive the gospel until he physically returns. A wayward Church removed the biblical way, and used Christianity to assert itself as the only church one God ordained, It understood that where its control was maintained; by the less knowledge that people had of the truth, the more easy it would be to rule over them. So we see the principle of ignorance is bliss being applied. And this was not just to the people but those leaders in the church, even the Pope was ignorant.
The Roman Catholic Church has traditionally suppressed, opposed, and
forbidden the use Popes had issued decrees forbidding Bible reading in the common language of the people, condemning Bible societies and banning its possession and translation under penalty of mortal sin and death. This hardly different than the way the Pharisee and scribes used. The Roman Catholic Church has openly burned Bibles and those who translated it or promoted its study, reading, and use.(John Hus, 1415 A.D.; William Tyndale, 1536 A.D.)” The Council of Toulouse, in 1229, decreed that "the laity" could not possess the books of the Old and New Testament "in the vulgar tongue." Canon 14. We prohibit also that the laity shouldnot be
permitted to have the books of the Old or New Testament; we most strictly
forbid their having any translation of these books.” The Council of Tarragona of 1234, in its second canon, “No one may possess the books of the Old and New Testaments, and if anyone possesses them he must turn them over to the local bishop within eight days, so that they may be burned…”(The Church Council of Tarragona 1234 AD.) No: they were not keepers or protectors of the word!
By 1408 even reading the Bible in English was outlawed.” (F. F.
Bruce, PP 20-23 In 1525: Six thousand copies of William Tyndale’s English translation of the New Testament were printed in Cologne, Germany, were smuggled into England—and then were burned by the English church.
The principal accusation against those who are subject to… (the
inquisition) Rome’s opposition to God reached its zenith until Forbidden Books and all excommunications relating to it were officially abolished in 1966. What began as a pursuit for truth, the reform movement had its first already burning before Luther spoke of sola Scriptura before the elite rulers. The Bible in the hands of the religious elite Leo XII, (1824), said that "if the sacred Scriptures be everywhere indiscriminately published, more evil than advantage will arise." The next year Leo mandated that the decrees of the Council of Trent be enforced against distribution of Scriptures. Pope Gregory IX speaking infallibly for God, when he proclaimed " The pope is the lord and master of the Universe, things as well as people." In 1229, this pope decreed that only ordained priests were allowed to read the Bible and two years later he began the Inquisition which lasted 600 years. In 1442, the Council of Florence proclaimed: `The holy Roman church firmly believes, professes and preaches that all those who are outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, cannot share in eternal life, and will go into the everlasting fire, `which was prepared for the devil and his angels', unless they are joined to the Catholic Church before the end of their lives... Nobody can be saved no matter how much he has given away alms and even if he has shed his blood in the name of Christ, unless he has persevered in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church " With all these traditions added,they have cooked the books. They know these must be written outside the Bible and not add\ the teachings into the Bible. But the distinction is barely recognized today just as it was in Jesus’ day with the Pharisees.
