Moses ordained public readings of the Torah, according to the Bible, telling the people, the families to teach their children the Word (Duty.6).

The Jewish/ Roman historian and priest Flavius Josephus: "...every week men should desert their other occupations and assemble to listen to the Torah and to obtain a thorough and accurate knowledge." This is what was practice later in synagogue services. The Old Testament (Torah) is read over a year in sequence, covering the entire Bible. In fact, as a practicing Jew, Jesus read the weekly parsha (section of the Torah) at the Sabbath services that he regularly attended: "And he went to Nazareth where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up for to read" (Luke 4:16).

The bible was available to all even in the Old Testament. What the Lord did is appoint the Levites to be separate as teachers to the people. In the same way he gave Pastors, teachers to the church but expected the people to individually read the Scripture. We see Jesus’example in Luke 4:16-17“So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah.”The synagogues were in each city throughout the land.

Some Catholics say if not for the catholic church that collected the letters we would have no bible. When in fact they teach that the Bible is not a sufficient rule of faith, it needs traditions that they themselves invented afterward.

It was the Roman church that for centuries kept the bible out of the hands of the people to be read, by insisting Latin is the holy language, when it w not written in Latin by the apostles. And they prevented an removed from many generations those who wanted to distribute God’s Word to all, so that’s the Son can set them free. Instead they claim the church sets people free.

There are many examples, Acts 13:15 “And after the reading of the Law and the Prophets,

Acts 8:27-28 Ethiopian eunuch was at the feast of Pentecost was returning Ethiopia. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet.” showing they carried portions of the word wherever they went.

The bible is still to be read. Even the New Testament explains how the letters were copied and passed on, circulated by city churches, not by Rome (Col. 4:17).“Now when this epistle is read among you, see that it is read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.”

Paul writes in 1 Tim. 4:13 “Till I come, give attention to reading , to exhortation, to doctrine”

1 Thess. 5:27 “I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.”

And John in Rev 1:3, he begins by stating, “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy”

Jesus said recorded by John (14:15) "If you love Me, keep My commandments. You cant keep them if you don’t know them.

John 14:23"If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; v.24”He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

He means our heavenly father not anyone called father on earth in a certain church that took away the Bible.

Evidence for sola Scriptura: In addition to what has already been stated above, consider the following:
2 Tim. 3:16-17 teaches that the Bible alone is inspired and capable of saving, edifying, and equipping believers. Although this verse refers only to the Old Testament (v. 15), other passages show that the New Testament Gospels (1 Tim. 5:18; cf. Luke 10:7) and Epistles were considered "Scripture" too (2 Pet. 3:15-16).
There is no reference to another instrument or source of authority other than the written Word (Gk. graphe) which is supporting the doctrine of sola Scriptura that Jesus himself endorsed.
Jesus and the apostles constantly appealed to the Bible as the final court of appeal. The phrase "It is written," is repeated ninety times in the New Testament.
Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for negating the final authority of the Word of God with their religious traditions (Matt. 15:3, 6).
The Bible warns "not to go beyond what is written" (1 Cor. 4:6; Deut. 4:2; Prov. 30:5-6; Rev. 22:18-19). But the Roman church began going beyond kept doing it throughout the centuries.
The Bible teaches that it is a revelation from God (Gal. 1:12, 2:1-2; cf. 1 Cor. 2:11-13) as opposed to the words of men. Since canonical revelation ceased at the end of the first century, sola Scriptura means that the Bible-nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else", it alone has infallible authority.

The Bible, God’s word is clear without the aid of traditions to help us understand it. This does not mean that everything in the Bible is absolutely understood, but that all doctrines essential for salvation are sufficiently clear. It is catatrophic to assert that what fallible human beings that write beyond the word write is clearer than what the etrnl Word of God declares to every generation!

C Hieronimus Sophronius, better known as Jerome (c. 342-420). Was a pioneer of monasticism Enormously erudite, Jerome early was attracted to the ascetic life, lived for a while as a hermit near Antioch, was more than once in Rome, for a time was secretary to a Pope, advocated self-denial, and excoriated the luxury of many of the clergy. Ultimately he made his home in a monastery which he built in Bethlehem. There he engaged in literary work and theological controversy and made a fresh translation of the Bible into Latin from the original tongues. That translation became the basis for the Vulgate, the standard translation of the Scriptures into the Latin vernacular (Christianity Through the Ages by Kenneth Scott Latourette).

After this no other language was allowed. Why Latin. It was the language of the Roman empire, they crushed Judaism and the Jews including Jewish believers were to leave the land. And replace it with Romanized Christianity

Proclamations at the Ecumenical Council of Constance in 1415 C.E.: Oxford professor, and theologian John Wycliffe, was the first (1380 C.E.) to translate the New Testament into English to "...helpeth Christian men to study the Gospel in that tongue in which they know best Christ's sentence." For this "heresy" Wycliffe was posthumously condemned by Arundel, the archbishop of Canterbury. By the Council's decree "Wycliffe's bones were exhumed and publicly burned and the ashes were thrown into the Swift River."

He was Martyred for giving people the Word so that they could personally read and not depend on a Catholic priest.

William Tyndale in 1536 C.E. was tried for heresy in 1522, three years before his translation of the New Testament was printed. In 1525 he produced a translation of the New Testament which condemn Roman Catholic doctrine. With notes that refuted and rebuked the Catholic Church, which they in turn condemned his version of the Bible.

Tyndale was burned at the stake for translating the Bible into English. According to Tyndale, the Church forbid owning or reading the Bible to control and restrict the teachings and to enhance their own power and importance.

Anglicans are among the many today who laud Tyndale as the “father of the English Bible.” But it was their own founder, King Henry VIII, who in 1531 declared that “the translation of the Scripture corrupted by William Tyndale should be utterly expelled, rejected, and put away out of the hands of the people.”

So troublesome did Tyndale’s Bible prove to be that in 1543—after his break with Rome—Henry again decreed that “all manner of books of the Old and New Testament in English, being of the crafty, false, and untrue translation of Tyndale . . . shall be clearly and utterly abolished, extinguished, and forbidden to be kept or used in this realm.”

Ultimately, it was the secular authorities that proved to be the end for Tyndale. He was arrested and tried (and sentenced to die) in the court of the Holy Roman Emperor in 1536. His translation of the Bible was called heretical because it contained heretical ideas—not because the act of translation was heretical in and of itself. But that was not their policy. The fact is, the Catholic Church w produce a translation of the Bible into English a few years later (The Douay-Reims version, whose New Testament was released in 1582 and the Old Testament was released in 1609).

The Catholic Church did not approve of Tyndale’s or Wycliff’s claiming they are corrupt translations, made with an agenda; as not accurate renderings of sacred Scripture. Because they did not agree with the churches headachy But they had an AGENDA also.

The Catholic Encyclopedia says: "The attitude of the church toward the Bible societies is one of unmistakable opposition. Believing herself to be the divinely appointed custodian and interpreter of Holy Writ, she cannot without turning traitor to herself, approve the distributions of Scripture "without note or comment." The fundamental fallacy of private interpretation of the Scriptures is presupposed by the Bible societies.

the reaction to Luther’s discovery on the scripture made him a CONTRARIAN of the worst kind, a priest who learned the truth from the Word that called ‘the truth.’

in the Encyclical Ubi Primum of Leo XII, dated 5 May, 1824, and Pius IX's Encyclical Qui Pluribus, of 9 November, 1846, Pius VIII in 1829 and Gregory XVI in 1844, spoke to similar effect. It may be well to give the most striking words on the subject from Leo XII and Pius IX. To quote the former:

"You are aware, venerable brothers, that a certain Bible society is impudently spreading throughout the world, which, despising the traditions of the holy Fathers and the decree of the Council of Trent, is endeavoring to translate, or rather to pervert the Scriptures into the vernacular of all nations.... It is to be feared that by false interpretation, the gospel of Christ will become the gospel of men, or still worse, the gospel of the devil."

The Pope then urged the bishops to admonish their flocks to disregard human audacity that does more harm than good come from indiscriminate Bible reading. They keep the policy they had AGAINST Tyndale and Wycliff, to keep the Latin language above all even if many did not know Latin. As they enforce Worship in Latin language in the year 600 AD.

Pius IX says, "These crafty Bible societies, which renew the ancient guile of heretics, cease not to thrust their Bibles upon all men, even the unlearned,—their Bibles, which have been translated against the laws of the church, and often contain false explanations of the text. Thus, the divine traditions, the teaching of the Fathers, and the authority of the Catholic Church are rejected, and every one in his own way interprets the word of the Lord, and distorts their meaning thereby falling into miserable errors." (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. II, "Bible Societies," p. 545.

"Years of experience, and observation not superficial, have only strengthened our conviction that this course must be fearlessly pursued. We must deny to Protestantism any right to use the Bible, much more to interpret it." (Cardinal Wiseman, Catholic Doctrine on the use of the Bible, page 11.)

They fully disregard the inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Luke 23:38 for all read, and then at Pentecost
