Why do YOU celebrate Christmas?

Many have this tradition ingrained in their lives and do not really understand this event; they have no interest to learn what it is really about. This is because someone has blinded them. The event is about a turning point in human history, for all to rejoice as the God who created all things, including us, became one of us, to reach us. It began with the angel’s message to the shepherds guarding the flocks in the pastures at night. Luke 2:9 “ an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.”

V.10-15 the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

When the angels had left to go back to heaven, that the shepherds left their sheep for a time to find what the Lord has made known to us. They go find the one who would one day be the chief shepherd in Bethlehem. The one born that fulfilled their prophecies was for all people on earth.

Luke 2:16-18 Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. ” v:21 “ Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them. And likewise so should we.

This day which was established for a millennia was to be made known as an outreach to the people just as it was to the shepherds. But along the way, business and money influenced it, commercialized it. Now it is all about our giving gifts (nothing wrong with that) except for the fact that many go into debt by buying them, missing the whole point that it is about God giving a gift to us to set us free. that the Lord has made known to us. As Isa 9:6 says, For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given ;

As Isaiah explains throughout his book “I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth'" (Isa 49:6).

As Christians, we should be the most thankful people on earth, as so much has changed for us who believe in Jesus as Christ and follow him through the Holy Spirit's presence and influence in our lives. Contrary to the world, the flesh, and the Devil influencing nearly everything today.

In saying this to ask you to take the time to explain the real story, the meaning behind the grand event that took place over 2,000 years ago, so that people can have the same hope that we have. Let’s remember that this event was spoken to the first humans Adam and Eve, as a promise from God in Genesis 3:15, that is how ancient this subject is. Gn. 12:3 “ in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Gn. 22:18 “In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.” The New Testament reveals in Gal. 3:16-17 " And to your Seed," who is Christ.” From this woman’s seed (Christ) will crush Satan's head. Satan would bruise (the heel of the woman's Seed, the Crucifixion). This brings the Lord's ultimate victory over Satan, sin, and death that all mankind experiences.

We go back to the angel’s announcement, “good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”

Joy to the world, he is born and has risen.

Have a wonderful Christmas, celebrate his birth, for God was born as man to redeem all.
