p.2 Satan comes as the deceiver and counterfeiter The day is coming when a man will be presented to the world as one knowing the solution to all our problem, he will be presented as ‘Christ,’ or a Christ, but will actually be what the Bible defines as ‘the Antichrist!’ One who comes in place of the true Christ, and is against him and his people in everything he says and does (the prophecy before his second coming), for he will come in his own name as an epitome of a narcissist. God says, “for at the appointed time the end shall be” (Daniel 8:19, 11:27,35) his rule will be short (not more than 7 years, as spoken of as the last heptad of the 70 years of Daniel prophecy ) and it will be fulfilled just as it is written. It is reserved for this time. Satan is not some inanimate evil or a negative force. He is a real personal being, he has all the traits of personality — feelings, emotions, a will with an intelligence that is greater than any other creature God has made. Smarter than the most intelligent of humans, He is a warped genius, and today we face him as a military tactician unparalleled in history. We are given spiritual armor to put on to protect us from him and his ways. We are told, “He who is within us is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). In other words, we can overcome his challenges by the Spirit of God who lives in us, as believers. Unbelievers are an open target for him to manipulate if they allow, and not resist, some have little choice. Satan is presented in the Scripture as a supernatural spirit being that always challenges the will and ways of God. He did this to Jesus, and he does this to both believers and unbelievers, though his tactics may be different for each of us through the ages, his goal is always the SAME. He appeared to Jesus and tempted Him when he was in the wilderness when he fasted for 40 days (representing Israel in the wilderness when God fed them miraculously and they fell in faith) (Matthew 4:1-10). Jesus carried on a conversation with him as he presented to him a shortcut to his position by offering all the kingdoms of the world in a vision, showing he can plant images and words in our mind. Some people are more familiar with the Devil and his ways, far more than they know of God.
Satan was created a free moral agent; capable of having the ability to
choose good from evil. He He is known by many names and titles throughout the ages in The SCRIPTURE. The title DEVIL (Matt. 13:39; Ephesians 6:11): This term occurs in the New Testament only. It comes from the Greek language, meaning to accuse and slander. He continually accuses and slanders (Rev. 12:10), God and the saints (as we see with book of Job) The SEED of Satan - Genesis 3:15 Many see him counterfeiting the seed of the woman to bring his chosen man into the world; without a man and woman conceiving. Either through technology, supernaturally or both. The SERPENT (Genesis 3:1; Isa. 27:1; Rev. 12:9; 20:2): This term refers to his “crookedness”, “craftiness”, and “deceitfulness.” This name reveals the first reference to Satan in the Bible, as he stalked to deceive Eve. His intention is malice, anger, cruelty, all directed toward God's truth and God's people. He is called FATHER OF LIES (John 8:44): Satan’s opposition to God includes a vast host of fallen angels and his counterfeit proposals, which do not derive their source from the Lord. It describes Satan as the source (father) of all that is untrue (lies) (1 John 3:8.). BEELZEBUB or BEELZEBUL (Matt. 10:25; 12:24,27; Mark 3:22): The exact meaning of this term is not known. It is suggested that it means “lord of the flies” what is corrupt, rottting and includes to Satan's authority over the demons. BELIAL (2 Cor. 6:15): This term was used in the Old Testament carrying the context of “worthlessness.” THE WICKED ONE OR THE EVIL ONE (Matt. 13:19,38; Eph. 6:16): A description of his character and work. THE TEMPTER (Matt 4:3; I Thessalonians 3:5): This name describes that his constant purpose is to cause people to sin, to Capture them and do his will. THE GOD OF THIS WORLD (2 Corinthians 4:4): He control in politics and false religion and all the false cults and systems which are against Christianity; he presides over their anti-God life style. THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD (Daniel 10:12-11:1; John 12:31; 14:30 16:11): Describes his influence over the governments. THE PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR (Eph. 2:2; 6:12): He is the leader of the evil angels and prince over this vast invisible host (army) of subordinates (demons) in the first heaven our atmosphere, which carry out his orders. He rules with tyrannical power. The SON OF PERDITION (John 17:12; II Thess. 2:3): Satan can and will cause ruin or loss in physical, spiritual or eternal arenas. He will destroy you fully if you let him and refuse Christ’s love and mediation. He is heading to destruction. STRONG MAN (Mt 12:29): Jesus addressed His power And influence of people, political arenas of this world, that he is the one who is the ruler and guards his position and possession. ANGEL OF LIGHT (2 Cor. 11:12-14): describing Satan’s supernatural ability of imitation of God, and his counterfeiting his word and power to individuals. He is cunning acting as a wolf in sheep's clothing, disguising evil in a good-and trusting package. LITTLE HORN (Daniel 7:8): The horn is symbolic of power, a horn. A ROARING LION (1 Peter 5:8): A “word picture” that emphasizes Satan’s hunger like an animal who tears apart and eats his prey, his continual persecution of believers. KING OF BABYLON (Isaiah 14:4): refers to the Babylonian empire, where false religion first was spread. The name means confusion; ‘Babel’, i.e., “he keeps babbling about…” (i.e., Babylon = nonsense). This also. KING OF TYRUS (Ezekiel 28:12): refers to a rock; ‘Tsor’, is a place in Palestine. Satan is the false rock. Christ is only true Rock! WICKED ONE (1 John 5:18): He is the father who inspires, and creates and destruction. His goal is to demote God's glory by corruption through God's people (John 8:44) . Enemy: He is totally dedicated to the opposition of the children of God with destructive ferocity (I Peter 5:8). He is also described as a (ancient) DRAGON (Isaiah 51:9, Revelation 12:3,7; 13:2): The term dragon literally means “Serpent” or “ Monster,” Beast. A dragon is known as a terrifying and destructive beast, a dinosaur, who seeks the total devastation of God's people. This image is meant for us to understand what we will face. Even after the Cross, the Apostle John wrote, “…the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 Jn. 5:19). An urgency has developed which is leading to the ultimate conclusion on Israel and its conflict with the nations. Satan, who opposes God and the things of God throughout history has been permitted to continually influence rebellious man. He is called the prince of this world, and is now is in the process to literally become the recognized ruler over man in the fallen world system as king. He is doing everything he can to influence people against Israel (Even those who are the elect) it will bring the about third temple which is soon to be built, which will bring his demise. Because Israel, the people, and the land are chosen by God, Satan opposes them constantly and vigorously by every means available, even in heaven. For example in Zech. 3:1-4“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?" Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, "Take away the filthy garments from him." And to him He said, "See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” This is depicting the future transformation of Israel to be saved nation. Nimrod, was Satan's first attempt to raise up a human ruler over all men. He instituted a defiant and rebellious world leadership which led to build a tower that was really a gate to the gods (Babel– gate of gods - study of the stars, this is what the New Testament calls Mystery Babylonas it repeats itself again in these last days). They were convinced to build a tower to heaven to worship as they pleased.
Daniel sees that the little horn emerges, has “eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully” (Daniel 7:8). And he “will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people” (Daniel 7:25). He will seek to change times and laws, and he will exert oppressive power over God’s people for three and a half years (verse 25). The Little Horn Daniel 7:8 We should remind ourselves of several names that the Bible gives to Satan and the future Antichrist, with a brief description of what he is going to do. The Antichrist, as he moves into his position of power is identified as the “little horn” (Daniel 7:8). The Book of Daniel tells us about after the death of Alexander the Great, who introduced the Greek language that became common, the world would be divided into four compartments, one of which is Syria. Out of Syria came a ruler who conquered Israel for a short time (approx., 165 BC), history identifies him as Antiochus Epiphanes. His actions foreshadow those of the coming world ruler, the Antichrist. He attacked the city of Jerusalem and took over and defiled the temple by sacrificing a swine (an unclean animal) on the altar in the temple courtyard, thus profaning the temple. This type of profaning of the temple is later specifically called in Scripture the “abomination of desolation.” The temple being the place to worship to God was defiled, it became desolate under the awful things that Antiochus Epiphanes did. Many people have thought that the Antichrist would be a Syrian, because of the Antiochus Epiphanes story. I don’t think that we can prove that he’s a Syrian from this account, but we can khow that this world leader of immense power will emerge almost unexpectedly, and become the ruler of the world. The “little horn” is one of the names given to the Antichrist. What is more descriptive is the people in Dan 9:26-27 “ the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.” The people who came and destroyed Jerusalem is of this prince to come, the occupiers of the land at the time were Roman. We understand he will break the covenant he made with Israel halfway through. In Daniel 11:36-45 another king is introduced which is identified by some as the same personage as the little horn of ch. 7. He is described as an absolute ruler: “The king shall do according to his will,” and he is the one who later claims to be God “he shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every God” (11:36). In the subsequent description he is portrayed as against all the gods of the past and “shall honor the god of fortresses instead of these...with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts” (11:38). The challenges to his rule are mentioned in 11:40-44 , apparently referring to a great final world war. God says, "for at the appointed time the end shall be" (Daniel 8:19, 11:27,35, spoken of as the last heptad of the 70 years of Daniel’s prophecy .) And it will be fulfilled just as it is written. It is reserved for this time alone. Dan 11:16-28 “ But he who comes against him shall do according to his own will, and no one shall stand against him. He shall stand in the Glorious Land with destruction in his power. He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do. And he shall give him the daughter of women to destroy it; but she shall not stand with him, or be for him. After this he shall turn his face to the coastlands, and shall take many. But a ruler shall bring the reproach against them to an end; and with the reproach removed, he shall turn back on him. Then he shall turn his face toward the fortress of his own land; but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.”
"There shall arise in his place one who imposes taxes on the glorious kingdom; but within a few days he shall be destroyed, but not in anger or in battle. And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. With the force of a flood ( invasion) they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant . And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. He shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South with a great army. And the king of the South shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand, for they shall devise plans against him. Yes, those who eat of the portion of his delicacies shall destroy him; his army shall be swept away, and many shall fall down slain. Both these kings' hearts shall be bent on evil, and they shall speak lies at the same table; but it shall not prosper, for the end will still be at the appointed time. While returning to his land with great riches, his heart shall be moved against the holy covenant; so he shall do damage and return to his own land.” The most expressive New Testament passage relating to antichrist is the description given of two beasts, one rising out of the sea (13:1-10) the nations, and another beast arising out of the land (13:11-18). Variations of interpretation are numerous, but generally the first beast is identified by futurists on prophecy as the final world ruler before the Second Coming of Christ. The second beast is considered a religious leader working by his political authority. Because of the similarity between the first beast bearing ten horns and seven heads to the little horn of Daniel 7:8 , many have identified this personage and the government he heads as being the antichrist. The little horn (ch. 7), is a blasphemer, opposed to God, and apparently is the last ruler before the return of Christ. As this ruler of supremacy over all, politically or religiously is removed. and the resurrection of Israel that fulfills the covenant to inherit the Land.(Dan. 12:1-3 ). The antichrist “shall intend to change times and law”(Daniel 7:25) This can mean numerous things, time can relate to him coming, or mankind’s length of history. Law can be his new ways of influence of how to live, changing the existing ways of our morality. Either way it will be something related to his person and nature that will certainly be in opposition to God. In studying Satan we know that he is bold and he wants everyone to acknowledge him but at the same time not know who he actually is in his disguise of humanity at the time. Why? Because he is the great deceiver, so he hides his real character and nature, choosing to be an actor, masquerading as something that is good and righteous. Being the ultimate ego-centric narcissist, Satan wants to be the center of all people’s attention, to be worshiped by the whole world, especially the people of the covenant. His goal is this worship (with it comes loyalty and obedience) it is not directed toward God, but himself as he is successful in his mission. His original desire that caused his fall, pride. Isaiah 14:14: “I will make myself like the Most High.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 and Revelation 12:7-9, wanting openly to be worshiped. Satan is determined to be worshiped by the Jews in their own temple. Jerusalem is called the city of the king, of peace; the prince of peace will rule from it. Satan wants the city of God (Zion) to be his, he wants to apply the prophecies of the true messiah to himself. In Daniels revelation he is identified as The king of fierce countenance - Daniel 8:23. He is called The willful king - Daniel 11:36. The prince that shall come - Daniel 9:26 is a picture of a military commander of an army, doing horrible atrocities to God’s people and the world. The desolator - Daniel 9:27 The tribulation is what Jesus warned of,theNight is coming, when no one is going to be able to work as we do now. John 9:4.the major period of God's judgment upon the earth concluding the whole of human history. God's judgment came upon the original heavens and earth following the devil's revolt. At no time in mankind’s history was satan worshiped directly among humanity having control and influence over the affairs of man as he will at the end. Daniel 11:36, 37 says , “Then the king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods;he will magnify himself above them all.” Jesus refers to Daniel in “the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION” (Matthew 24:15) having everything to do with a future 3rd temple built in Jerusalem (they are working on commencing it in our day.) Expressly from the bible, will be known as ‘The man of sin’ - 11 Thessalonians 2:3 The son of perdition - 11 Thessalonians 2:3, The lawless one - 11 Thessalonians 2:8 The Antichrist - 1 John 2:22, The Beast - Revelation 11:7 All these are descriptions of the same person who is to come in the near future and sit in the new Temple blaspheming God. How? This man of Lawlessness will be accepted as “a,” or “the” CHRIST OF ALL RELIGIONS. Christ generally being a symbol, a representation of God's appointed man, the leader for the age. The exact description of his final judgment is predicted in the book of Revelation. The scripture next in importance is that of his crime; this is clearly set forth in Isa. 14:12-20. He will then be evicted from the earth, as Jesus brings an abrupt end to his activity, when He the messiah returns. This becomes the final period of judgment, as God intervenes to destroy the dominion of Satan and rebellious man, the world system by the second coming of Christ and thereby ends their influence in the world. This phase will be characterized by darkness and an outpouring of God's wrath upon humanity who rejected him (Joel 2:1-2; Amos 5:18-20; Zeph. 1:14-15).
