The fall of Satan, where, when and why did he fall?

Satan is called the Devil, The one who opposes God and the people who believe in him. Understand the Devil does not want you to believe he exists. That’s Satan’s greatest deception, to convince people he is a figment of a certain religions imagination, that he is a made up religious idea. God knows He exists because he was created as God’s greatest angel, until he rebelled. The other angels and creatures of heaven knows he exists, but he does not want humans to know because his activity specifically targets them.

The name Satan means accuser, he is one who opposes the goodness of God toward humanity. This encompasses that he does not want people to know they can turn their messed up sinful life around by repenting and allowing God his place of prominence in their lives.

In a dateless period, God began the perfect creation of the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1) as the angels of all types (Cherubim, seraphim, angelic creatures) were made to populate heaven. These angelic creatures were in unison. All was called good at this time. The book of Job tells us that all the angelic host (which would include Satan) "Day Star, Son of the Morning," was appointed in heaven, when the morning stars (the sons of God) sang together, they “shouted with joy” when they watched when God laid the foundation of the earth (Job 38:4-7).

And He began putting life on earth. The chief cherubim originally called the Day Star (becomes Satan because of his rebellion). So Satan’s fall must have taken place between the time the creation in heaven was completed and before Adam and Eve were made. Since at the end of the creation week, God pronounced all of His creative work to be “very good” (Genesis 1:31), the fall of Satan had to take place sometime BEFORE that, as he came to Eve to tempt her.

The time between the end of the 6-day creation week and the temptation of Eve could have been within a few days or a few years, we are not given the time. We know there was an extension of time of at least on the 6h day, when Adam was made because he gave names to each of God’s creatures all before the making of Eve from Adam (Genesis 2:19-20). It is more likely that they both were eating from the trees in the garden numerous times before Satan entered into his temptation attack on Eve to convince eat from the tree that was said to be off limits to them. Numerous times after, God made something he spoke of it as ‘good.’ Adam is instructed “of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Gen. 2:17).The only thing during this time of creation that he said is not good, that "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him” (Gen 2:18).for all the creatures God made were made in pairs

It was the helper to Adam that the serpent went after. After they both ate from the tree, The Lord says "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil.” (Gen 3:22). God intended man to know only good. Evil came by disobedience which is identified as sin in the bible.

The offender of humanity is normally called Lucifer (meaning light bearer) in Christianity, (Biblically, he is called ‘Day Star’). He fell in heaven, he did not fall in the Garden, but was understood as the Serpent (deceiver) when he came to Eve to trick her into disobeying God’s one “do not” command he gave the first couple, using the craftiest creature in the garden. The command Do not eat of the fruit of this one tree, the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He took advantage of Eve when she was separated from Adam, by telling her information about what the fruit that was forbidden to eat would do for her; inflating her pride. He had her question God being fully truthful about what could happen if she ate it. Making her doubt that God really said to “not eat” from this tree AS BENEFICIAL.

This same creature that fell in heaven by pride, is the one who desired to be God, came to tempt Eve and persuade her to have the same desire he had to cause the fall of man into sin, by disobedience against God. Thus we have a Bible doctrine connection of the one who fell in heaven as the same being who lied to Eve in the garden with the same desire he had.

Dealing with reality and not the characters of Satan invented by man that portray as

An ugly hideous creature, with horns, and a tail, who is dressed up in a red suit. Is not the accuracy in Scripture,That explains in detail he is the most beautiful ( using his beauty to deceive() and wisest of all creature made.

As Paul writes, he still has the same ability today. 2 Cor. 11:14-15 “ For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”

He, his apostles can look beautiful, glowing, righteous. Counterfeits of God’s glory, what they speak sounds as if it of God.

Satan is not an office? Nor a general term anyone can fill? He is a personal creature of great intelligence, the most ancient and powerful being God created. He is an individual that has the ability to transform himself to look as if he is a righteous being. It is stated that Satan was perfect in all his ways from the day he was created. He was created by God, as sinless in his condition. His primary position in ministry was above the glory of God, appointed to be over the throne looking out toward the angels/creatures that worship God. His being is created with musical instruments.

In Ezekiel 15 it is stated that he was the cherubim and the highest of that was created was created perfect, in verse thirteen that perfection He was also "full of wisdom," "perfect in beauty," filling up the sum of perfection that can be found in a creature(Ezek. 28:12). In other word’s he was filled with the knowledge of God more than any other creature. He had the sum total of wisdom that any creature could have within them.is seen by the precious gems worn (his ministry liken to a high Priest later in Israel).

Is there proof that satanin Job is an evil angel, a spirit being opposed to God, his people, and Gods work? YES! But he was not created with sin. He went from being created perfect, the greatest of all creatures in heaven to the most fallen and despised.

Satan with all the other angels watched God make all things on earth and he still fell in heaven, with God before him.

In Hebrew…Isaiah 14:12 (KJV) “How art thou fallen (NAPHAL) from heaven (MIN) (SHAMAYIM), O Lucifer (HEYLEL), son (BEN) of the morning (SHACHAR)! how art thou cut down (GADA) to the ground (ERETZ), which didst weaken (CHALASH) (AL) the nations (GOY)!”

When he was in heaven, before his fall,He is originally called ‘Day Star’ (in Hebrew).

LUCIFER(Isaiah 14:12): This term is related to the morning star. It literally means a “light-bearer”, the shining one, a picture of Satan’s original headship position in heaven over all the angels. He is still able to masquerade as a beautiful being of light, (2 Cor.11:14) just as he did with Eve!

The name of Lucifer in Hebrew is not there, this is a Latin translation for light or shining one. His name is Heylel Ben Shachar. Literally can mean crescent moon or morning star.

In the ancient world the crescent moon and the morning star was the symbol of Baal, originating with the original false religion of Babylon, called the mother of harlots.

How The Day Star fell

Satan was also given free will to choose and used his free will at a certain point to make a decision to rebel against God. Isaiah describes  the five I wills he declared:

I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne about the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of assembly…
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High”
(Isaiah 14:13-14).

Notice the pride, contained in his repetition of the phrase, “I will.” The affirmations of rebellion, against God.

Looking at his perfection in beauty, he became enamored with himself. It caused pride which corrupted his wisdom. Pride replaced his humble submission to God to serve him.

In reference to his fall in heaven (Isa.14:12-14) Satan utters 5 ‘I wills,’ his 5th is ‘I will make myself like the most high. He wanted a higher position than what was given to Him by God, by his pride he stated “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.” He became self absorbed, proud of his beauty and by his unique position, and decided that he wanted to sit on God’s throne and rule in his place.

Ezekiel tells us the root cause was pride: “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor” (Ezek.28:17).

In Luke 10:18 Satan is said to be fallen from heaven. Of this fall Jesus speaks in the first person recalling this ancient event, showing he was present when it took place (Ezekiel 28) “I saw satan fall from heaven”(past tense; he was there)). Which means Jesus existed before Adam and Eve to see this.

Recapitulating How Satan fell is expressed through the human example by using the King of Tyre as an example. Representing the king of Babylon Isa.14 explains to us how Satan fell from heaven. It is also prophetic in that Babylon will be one of the headquarters for the false Messiah (Satan in disguise) known as the antichrist, later in the Tribulation, as it is the origin of all false religions, it will unite all religions to be under him in the end.

The reference in both of these passages is not to Satan's moral degeneration but rather to a great event that changed who he was, because of his sin, driven from his original place and glory he is made to inhabit the earth and air (Eph. 2:2; 6:12; I Pet. 5:8). Yet he continues to be granted at times the privilege of access to the presence of God when summoned (Job 1:6; Rev. 12:10).

The first sinful creature was Satan, and the first sin was that of pride that occurred in heaven. Ezekiel describes “You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.”

Satan became filled with unrighteousness and caused violence among the other angelic creatures to also rebel against God. Convincing one-third of the heavenly hosts to side with him (Rev. 12:4). His sin resulted in God casting him and one third of the angels out of Heaven as their abode, home(Ezek.28:15-17). The various types of angels who rebelled with Satan became what we know as demonic spirits. He was referred to by the Religious leaders in Jesus’ day (the Pharisees) as “the ruler of the demons” (Matt. 9:34).

The numerous Biblical names of Satan

All the names of this creature explain his character and activity.

He is represented as the Serpent in the garden (Genesis 3:1 and Revelation 12:9); Accuser of the brethren (Zech. 3:1 and Rev. 12:10); Adversary, a roaring Lion (hungry) (Job 1:6 and 1 Peter 5:8) This is the Hebrew meaning of ‘Sataan.’ The term Devil (1 John 3:8) From the Greek word, diabolos , which means slanderer or one who defames. He is the Wicked One (Eph. 6:16), the Evil One (John 17:15) John calls him the serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, Deceiver (Rev. 12:9) who deceives the world, the Dragon (Rev. 12:3-17). Ruler of Darkness (Ephesians 6:12) the God of This World (2 Cor. 4:4) and the Prince of This World (John 12:31). Tempter (Matt. 4:3 a liar and the father of it (the originator of what is not the truth, lying is his nature) (John 8:44). The Thief (John 10:10). The Enemy of God and the saints (Matthew 13:39). Beelzebub (Matt. 12:24, 27) Means either “Lord of the flies” or “Lord of dung” something that is decrepit. Belial (2 Cor. 6:15). Today, Satan is the ruler of this world, and is called the "prince of the power of the air" (John 12:31; 2 Corinthians 4:4 ; Ephesians 2:2 ). He is also called "the accuser" (Revelation 12:10), he tempts humans to sin against God as he did (Matthew 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 3:5), and he deceives humanity away from the truth, especially the truth about God Himself (Genesis 3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:3 ). He lies about God's character and purposes, he tells fallen humanity that it can save itself without God's grace, and he does all he can to separate us from God and undermine God in our eyes, using his powers of deception. Actually, the name "satan" means "adversary" or "one who opposes." He is also known as "the devil", which means "slanderer."

What he knows about God and the truth is corrupted, Satan continues to attempt to raise himself above God as if he rules from his throne. Satan is behind all the false religions and cults, all the false gods and lies that pull people away from the Lord. Satan disguises himself as "an angel of light" which makes his deception all the more powerful (2 Corinthians 11:14). Human beings often see his lies as good, pleasant and seemingly right (Proverbs 14:12), when in truth they are traps that have sealed the doom of millions throughout history.
Psalm 2 tells us that Satan continually plots and schemes influencing the world against God and His Anointed One, the Creator sits in Heaven and laughs! For its all for naught (Ps.2:4).

Satan is known as the great deceiver, but to be this he was first deceived, he is the most deceived creature, for his deception is self-deception, as he has convinced himself and continues thinking that he will ultimately triumph. God has it written he will fail miserably.

As God’s victory began at the Cross. Satan manipulated the people to murder God’s Son. But the Resurrection, took place.

The character of Satan is thoroughly despicable. He is the essence of evil but disguises it. He is described in the Scriptures as “a murderer” and “the father of lies” (John 8:44). According to Jesus in John 8:44, Satan is the father of lies,in that he was the first one to ever tell a lie. Therefore, he is originator of lies, identified as a liar, not the truth (whom Jesus is). when Satan lies, “he is speaking by his nature.”

We find him called“the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night” (Rv. 12:10) Not only does he accuse, he takes action. Job 1:7 The Lord asks Satan, "From where do you come?" Satan answers, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.Peter later describes the devil as one who “walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”(1 Peter 5:8) (tear to pieces). He is hungry to make others fall. This does not mean that Satan is always free to do as he pleases, he must ask permission as seen in Job especially to attack believers.

The name Satan is mentioned 55 times in the Bible right up to the end when he is bound for a thousand years in the bottomless pit during the millennium and then he is released for a short time gathering an untold amount of people as an army to attack the saints in Jerusalem. Rev. 20:9 God sends fire out of heaven to devour all of them at once. V.10 “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever” (Rev 20:8-9). That’s the last anyone will hear from him THROUGH ETERNITY.

1 John 3:8-9 “ He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil .”

This brings us to Genesis when Eve was tempted and sinned. The Son’ was manifested to take away sin, t which was introduced by the devil to Eve and to Adam by disobedience to God. Jesus’ contention is with Satan who is also called the devil all throughout the New Testament.

In Heb. 2:14 “He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.”How did death come? By sin, and sin was instigated by the Serpent deceiving Eve. So we see the Devil is the Serpent, who is Satan just as the apostle John explains in the last book of the Bible

The time of the end

“Even the devil and his demons believe in God and tremble” (Jms. 2:19), why? Thry know God exists, and because they know what’s coming, for it says “the God of peace will crush Satan…” (Romans 16:20). But Didn’t Jesus defeat Satan at the Cross?” Yes, but not all is applied yet. The total defeat of Satan is delayed after the Cross, just as the receiving of our glorified bodies is.

The New Testament gives his two titles “God of this age” and “Prince of the power of the air” “

Revelation reveals the means he will act against humanity and God by using a certain man to empower him, in his quest to defeat the Creator, he will be defeated in the end.
Regardless of his plans and efforts, Satan's destiny is already decided, he is sealed in his rebellion —and will spend eternity in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10).

The Tribulation ends with the Second Coming of Jesus and all the saints with him (The Antichrist and his False Prophet will be seized and thrown alive into the lake of fire, which is the real Hell (Revelation 19:20-21). At that point the activity of Satan will come to a temporary end. He will be held captive for the next thousand years while Jesus reigns over all the earth from Jerusalem (Revelation 20:1)They tormented us, and in the they end they will be tormented, forever.

for the future “Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).Isaiah says that the saved will be allowed to gaze upon him, and they will mock him by saying, “Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, who made the world like a wilderness and overthrew its cities?” (Isaiah 14:16-17). He will not look like much to us.
