Iglesia ni Christo’s unbelief in the genuine Jesus Christ of the Bible They as a church use his name and call their church after his title but do they understand his title of his name? Let me take the time to explain, because this is important. Lord Jesus is found 119 times, Lord Jesus Christ is found 84 time in the New Testament. He is the Lord Jesus Christ, the title Lord changes everything. It explains who he really is. God is called Lord in the Old Testament The Greek word for Lord in the New Testament is kurios which is equal to the Hebrew name Yahweh found in the Old Testament (Rom 10 Paul says to call upon the Lord as Ps. 55:16; 116:13 145:18; Isa 55:6 state). It is the Greek translation of the Old Testament of Lord often rendered Adonay, meaning sovereign master, a substitute for YHWH. The title Lord (Gr- Kurious- Lord) is applied to the Father, the Son and to the Spirit. The title, Lord Jesus, applies to the Son alone . He is called the only Lord and God, “the Lord of Heaven and Earth,” “Lord of Lords and King of Kings.” Lord Jesus:used - Luke 24:2-3 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus .” In Acts 1:21 " Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us.” Lord Jesus Christ: is used inActs 11:17 “If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 15:11 “But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.” What does Lord mean? First we find that no other name is called Lord but the anointed one (Christ), there is only one, the only begotten Son who is Jesus Christ. So one must ask what Jesus Christ does Iglesia Ni Christo have, if he is not the LORD Jesus Christ; who is he? "LESSON NO. 2 - The true God Summary of the lesson: The Iglesia ni Cristo believes in the teachings taught by the Bible that the Father who created all things is the only true God. There are not three persons in one God; thus, reject the belief in the so-called Trinity. The Bible also prohibits worship of images or idolatry ." (Fundamental Beliefs of the Iglesia ni Cristo, Erano G. Manalo (1989), p.4). The fallacies of their Doctrine found in Lesson 2: Iglesia ni Cristo convinces their people that only the Father is the true God, or that the Father is the only one who created all things. The truth is that the Father as well as the Son Jesus Christ has created all things. Apostle John: "He (the son) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him , and without Him nothing was made that was made." (Jn.1:2-3 NKJV) Through Him (him who? Jesus the Son), and nothing was made without him (him who? Jesus the Son), The Bible teaches Jesus Christ is creator of all things. Iglesia ni Christo does not believe this, therefore they do not believe God’s word the Bible. Jesus prays the day before he is to give himself as a sacrifice. John 17:5 “ And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” Since the heavens and the earth were the first things made, and he shared in the Fathers glory (which he also says he will return in) then he cannot be a created thing, called the Son. Anymore then the Father can be a created thing. Eph. 3:9-10 “ which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ” Jesus Christ was in the beginning with God. That all things were made through Jesus Christ and without Jesus Christ nothing was made that was made. This teaching of Apostle John is corroborated by Apostle Paul: "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth , visible and invisible, whether thrones or domination, or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him." (Col. 1:15-16 NKJV) Therefore, Jesus Christ created all things. This is the truth taught by the apostles but Iglesia keeps it from them and themselves. All means all, just like all have sinned. In Heb 1:2-3 we find nearly the same statement in John 1. “through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power Manalo taught that it is the Father who is the true God is false. Jesus Christ is also God as attested 1 Tim 6:15 “He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords”also 1 Tim.1:17; Rev.17:14) Heb 1:8 But to the Son He says v.10 “He also says, " In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.” There is that word that John speaks of in 1:1-3 The denial of these Bible doctrines by Felix Y. Manalo is proof that Manalo did not respect the Bible or know God at all. This trait of disrespect to God could only come from a contrarian to God. The INC church is another religion based on Arianism that was refuted at the first council. Question to any that will listen? If God created the heavens and the earth but scripture also says through Jesus the universe was made, doesn’t that assign Jesus to be God? Or did God just use Jesus to make the universe by granting him special powers? The thought of special powers is not anywhere in the Bible. Many verses in the Old Testament talk about how God, Elohim, created the universe, with no one else. The simple conclusion that is throughout the Scripture is that God created, and it says Jesus created, and they are one? Just as Jesus sad ‘I and the father are one.’ The following verses about Jesus all confirm and backup the above thought. Again reading these verses in context it is clear that the subject of these verses is Jesus Christ. John 1:3 “ Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” Colossians 1:16 “ For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.” If he is the creator of all things he himself cannot be created, therefore he is God. Jude 1:25 “To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” When Jesus rose from the dead Thomas was not accepting their testimony saw Jesus alive and said “My Lord my God” (John 20:28- in Greek, literally “The Lord of me the God of me”). Instead of being rebuked for this statement, Thomas is commended and blessed by Jesus, confirming what he said is correct. Jesus does not bless those who lie. Deut. 4:39: “ Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the LORD Himself is God.” Are you willing to consider this? |
