p.8 Marketing New age Christianity to the church and masses The Awakening The New Age ‘awakening’ teaches of reaching the same state of consciousness that Christ attained. This come in various packages, it is described as and awakening, transformation, enlightenment, Self-realization, Cosmic or Christ consciousness. It is also known as part of the Secret Doctrine, as ‘the plan’ that has been unfolding throughout history by those deeply involved. The premise:The interrelatedness of the individual soul to all souls is considered our consciousness. What is stated is that our perception of separation is supposedly preventing the planet’s state of “health,” disabling our spiritual progress, preventing humanity’s “spiritual evolution” toward its “divine potential.” A change of the consciousness of humanity to a Christ consciousness will bring the world into a golden era. The key is to look within. An elevated state of consciousness or awareness; enlightenment, is where one cultivates a deeper sense of unity with the divine. It is not about beliefs but a deep shift in consciousness, that transcends any particular religion's view (even though they use the term Christ from the bible they transform it into a completely different meaning). All these concepts and teaching are encapsulated in Mike Adams (the Health rangers) numerous Bible, and spirit teaching. John Nolan interviewing Mike Adams says to him that, “My perception is that we have been shown through the teachings of Jesus, of the actual manifested man, what Christ consciousness means …what if this physical return is really a return of Christ consciousness? I ask myself this. And what if we all have the innate ability to open ourselves up to that Christ consciousness? Is that something that it could be a possibility that we are maybe through translations and over time and maybe even deception have misunderstood this concept?” Mike Adams’ response: “the Bible speaks in abstractions so, so often, most of it is actually just a metaphor for something much larger. So the return of Christ is, I think you're right, the return of Christ consciousness . it must happen by the dismantling of the satanic control grid.. It has suppressed higher awakening.. the so-called psychic phenomenon such as premonition. …People are having dreams…having visions… even auditory voices like Moses ... I think the demonic control grid is also weakening and then kind of some consciousness is breaking through. And when it breaks through globally, that's the return of Christ consciousness, as you say. I think you've nailed it.”(The New INSPIRED ‘Spiritual People Need To Prepare’, John Nolan interviewing Mike Adams) There is so much to unpack in this conversation. First is the New Age view that there is no personal coming of Jesus for the Second Coming of Christ; the coming of Christ is through everyone by ascending in consciousness ... both Adams and his friend agree on this. Without the literal return of Jesus, there is no resurrection, judgment of the sheep and goats, no Millennium, no wedding feast for the Saints, Christ is not king from Jerusalem; nothing that is prophesied that is to take place that is future is fulfilled. Theirs is NOT Christian teaching! It is a blatant denial replacing it with the New Age view of ‘awakening’ i.e. higher consciousness of Christ. This global event he speaks of, that will lift up everyone’s consciousness is the basis for the New age belief which is also spoken by the New Age Christ called Maitreya. Mr. Adams does not understand that satan and his fallen angels are a spirit beings and can communicate false words to people who “are open,” by dreams… visions… voices. Without any discernment of the Spirit of truth, not exercising the truth by the Word, they become like ducks at a shooting gallery. Yet Adams is telling people "the demonic control grid is also weakening and then kind of some consciousness is breaking through.” But God is not a consciousness that we all share. The fact is that it is Satan’s influence that is increasing, not diminishing. This is what the Bible teaches will take place in the latter days. Adams' view is clarified by, “Now, I do believe that prophecy only shows us one possible future”(057 - Ezekiel Ch 38-39.) He believe it is by our own choosing we change our future. Out of the over 31,000 verses in the Bible, there are over 8,300 that are prophecy. And 2,000 of them describe over 200 events that have yet to happen. Just as those previously written have literally happened, so will those yet in the future; man cannot change these specific details on Jesus’ Second Coming. Just as there were hundreds of scriptures of his first coming, 30 of them were fulfilled exactly as they were written of his crucifixion. The main influence opposing the return of Jesus is the spirit of antichrist that teaches the opposite of Scripture. When Christ ascended into heaven, two angels were present and told the disciples that "this same Jesus " would return in the same way. Not a "Christ Spirit" or "Christ Consciousness" as Adams claims will happen. Jesus said he would come again (John 14:3), we are told to “eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time , apart from sin, for salvation.” (Heb. 9:28). The most detailed description is found in the last book written, in Revelation 19:11-16. John sees heaven open and a rider on a white horse is called Faithful and True. Who “in righteousness He judges and makes war,” In his place Adams teaches this is a comet causing total world destruction. This same John wrote explaining to us all that the spirit of Antichrist denies that Christ (singular) has come in the flesh (1 John 4:3) and is still in the flesh. The anointed one (God came in flesh) was resurrected and continues to live in the same body He was born with; Adams also denies this. As former New ager Warren Smith states, “Christ-consciousness” is a popular New Age term that has been used by channelers, gurus, shamans, psychics, and practitioners of the occult for years.” Now that we understand Mike Adams’ position, he unashamedly opposing a biblical view of Christ and his second coming that has been taught from Scripture and held by faithful believers throughout history. Let us look at the New age, Mysticism and the Occult teachings from those in our day and throughout history that speak the same as he does. Let's begin with the older spiritual systems, the Rosicrucians: “Ordinary mortals, then, the ordinary man of today or of Christ's time, would not possess this special consciousness, if it had been given uniquely to Jesus to distinguish him as the Christ . Furthermore, if it were given to Jesus for such a purpose, humans cannot hope to aspire to it; the exhortation that they should attain Christ Consciousness would be an inconsistency. So, we must presume that the Christ Consciousness was not a unique faculty possessed by Jesus, and which other mortals could not possibly attain…. Using “John 14:6, Jesus says: "... I am the way, and the truth." This statement we can interpret to mean that he, in his conduct, exemplified the greater attainment, the result of the integrated consciousness. The phrase, "and the truth" can mean the way of teaching the truth, the way by which every man can have this Christ Consciousness.” (What Is Christ Consciousness? By Ralph M. Lewis, F.R.C. Lesson one - From The Rosicrucian Digest June 1948) underlines mine. Masonry that teaches the occult has these same concepts; a few examples from its pages. “Among the primary ideas of consciousness, that are inseparable from it, the atoms of self consciousness, we find the idea of God. …self-consciousness leads us to consciousness of God...That is the highest evidence of our own existence, and it is the highest evidence of His.” …consciousness of a thinking soul which is really the person that we are, and other than our body, is the best and most solid proof of the soul's existence. We have the same consciousness of a Power on which we are dependent”(Morals and Dogma by Albert Pike1871 ) Researcher and writer Dave Hunt points out“Masonry states of Jesus of Nazareth had attained a level of consciousness, of perfection, that has been called by various names: cosmic consciousness, soul regeneration, philosophic initiation, spiritual illumination, Brahmic Splendor, Christ-consciousness.’(Quoted in ‘Occult Invasion’.) Guru Paramahansa Yogananda explains Christ's words in passages such as, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" Jn. 14:6). Jesus meant, never that he was the sole Son of God, but that no man can attain the unqualified Absolute, the transcendent Father beyond creation, until he has first manifested the 'Son' or activating Christ Consciousness within creation. Jesus, who had achieved entire oneness with that Christ consciousness …” ( Autobiography of a Yogi Self Realization fellowship p.178)

5749-14, Thomas Sugrue (author of There Is A River) offered a
definition of Christ Consciousness and asked if it was correct. The
reading affirmed that it was:“(Q) Should
the Christ-Consciousness
be described as the awareness within each soul, imprinted in pattern on
the mind and waiting to be awakened by the will, of the soul's oneness
with God? This is a basic interpretation used in the New Age movement that distorts the meaning of what Jesus actually meant of what delivered to us in the Bible. New ager John Randolph Price says that “the Second Coming refers not to the return of Jesus, but to the awareness by an individual that he is a god, a supermind.Price says who,achieves the higher state of "Christ Consciousness" that results from the awareness of one's own divinity.”This for him is the Second Coming. (The Planetary Commission, pp. 30-31, 143-147) The Popular ‘A Course in Miracles’ teaches “The Son of God ... is not Jesus but our combined Christ consciousness.” Jesus is the wayshower according to I Am university “It is our awakening into Christ Consciousness that is the final cure that ends all suffering.”Defined as“we can say enlightenment and Christ consciousness are basically synonymous terms.” This is what Adams is teaching. As we listen to others who speak on this, we find a number of other concepts that Adams also speaks of. I can assure you that no one arrives at these same conclusions, using the same words, concepts or explanations without being familiar with the teachings of others that teach this. Alice Baily channeling her personal spirit guide Djwhal Khul (a demon), we hear ‘them’ speak on this consciousness,“the nature of the Christ consciousness which knows no separation, which recognizes, all men everywhere as Sons of God in process of expression. …These working disciples and initiates regard all as essentially one and as brothers, which … says to all men everywhere: ‘We are all the children of God; we are all equally divine; we are all on our way to the revelation of divinity…’ “therefore, the next great human unfoldment which grows out of the Christ consciousness … “Eventually the truths thus grasped change the consciousness of humanity as a whole …” (Alice Bailey & Djwhal Khul - Quoted from ‘In the Name of Purpose’ by Tamara Hartzell.) Researcher and writer Ray Yungen points out, “The way is open to everyone to become a Christ by achieving the Christ Consciousness through walking the same path He walked. He simply and beautifully demonstrated the pattern.” (‘A Time of Departing’) The Christ of the New age is ‘the wayshower’, an example for others to be like him in Christ consciousness. There are also those within the world of Christianity who change the meaning of the words of Scripture agreeing with what New Age teaches because of an influence of mysticism. Matthew Fox who is both a mystic and a universalist said, “ Christianity has been out of touch with its `core,' its center, its sense of mystical practice and cosmic awareness." (The Cosmic Christ, p. 7) His is an example of the new age spiritual revolution, to change the meanings and practices. Adams says the technology path is offered “because they don't want you to understand the miraculous power that you already have within you, that you can tap into cosmic consciousness .” (May 21, 2025) Occult teacher Alice Baily spoke of an appearance of a universal church at the end of the 20th century. When the church will have the activity of a ‘new Christ’, his disciples and the living masters. No longer would the church teach what the Bible says, that people would not be taught doctrine. “This Church will be nurtured into activity by the Christ and His disciples when the outpouring of the Christ principle, the true second Coming has been accomplished.” (Bailey, Externalisation, p 510.). This was also predicted by her mentor Helena Blavatsky. This is another way to say ‘Christ consciousness.’ These people are now everywhere, and the Church is their target to implement this spiritual change. Leonard Sweet, a United Methodist pastor, in his book ‘Quantum Spirituality’, explains the meaning of ‘Christ consciousness’ can be partly found in his reference on page 13 to Thomas Merton, whom he quotes as saying: We are already one. But we imagine that we are not. And what we have to recover is our original unity.” Sweet also states in his book Quantum Spirituality: The power of small groups is in their ability to develop the discipline to get people "in-phase" with the Christ consciousness and connected.” (source: www.lighthousetrails.com) Sweet was voted twice as “one of the 50 Most Influential Christians in America” by ‘ChurchReport magazine.’ (On Sweet) Leonard Sweet acknowledges in Quantum Spirituality that he was privately corresponding with channeler David Spangler. In Quantum Spirituality, Sweet writes about what he calls his “new cell” understanding of New Light leadership, then closes his book by thanking Spangler for “his help in formulating this ‘new cell’ understanding of New Light Leadership.” Sweet writes: Philosopher Eric Voegelin’s word “cosmion” refers to “a well ordered thing that has the character of the universe.” New Lights offer up themselves as the cosmions of a mind-of-Christ consciousness. As a cosmion incarnating the cells of a new body, New Lights will function as transitional vessels through which transforming energy can renew the divine image in the world, moving postmoderns from one state of embodiment to another .” (A Wonderful Deception Warren Smith) Sweet says,“New Light believers are a possessed people: Possessed by a higher power, possessed by a Christ consciousness.” (Quantum spirituality) Sweet actually repeats the new age anthem “It is Christ who unites us; it is doctrines that divide.” (Quantum Spirituality, p. 300. (bold added), exactly what was said by Blavatsky and Baily. One would be hard pressed to distinguish New Agers from those who claim Biblical Christianity without defining the terms used. Discernment is rarely used to identify the distinctions, but is of necessity to keep the faith. The spirit of antichrist comes to replace Christ as Christ Jesus being portrayed as an ordinary man who had Christ Consciousness descend upon him at the time of his baptism and stay with him until his crucifixion was identified in the early church as heresy, called adoptionism. From Gnosticism this became part of the New Age explaining Jesus becoming the Christ (Lk.2:11 says he was born as Christ). There is an anointing of another spirit upon individuals to achieve the same enlightenment today, an experience of Christ consciousness informs them of who they are or who they can become. To be in a position to recognize the "spirit of antichrist" working today, we must adhere to the scriptures specifications in the Bible and not open ourselves to a mixture. Barbara Marx Hubbard says, “Christ-consciousness and Christ-abilities are the natural inheritance of every human being on Earth” (from The Plan , quoting Barbara Marx Hubbard Happy Birthday Planet Earth.p.17) See - Achieving Christ Consciousness with Barbara Marx Hubbard. On ‘The Evolutionary Testament of Co-Creation’,Daniel Pinchbeck, author and co-founder of the Evolver Network states, “ In The Evolutionary Testament of Co-Creation, visionary futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard elaborates an evolutionary perspective on Christ consciousness, seeing in Christ an archetype for humanity’s current journey…” Barbara Marx Hubbard’s shows her mysticism and new age view by her spiritualized interpretations spoken of by Jesus “ You will do the works that I do, and greater works will you do in the fullness of time…” and St. Paul: “Behold I show you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, we shall all be changed…” These statements are coming true. The Promise is being kept. We are all being changed. We do have the power of what we called gods. We can destroy the world and we also can restore the Earth, evolve ourselves and all of society. This is the last trump, and the trumpet is sounding for our generation.” New Agers will rarely interpret the Bible soundly or literally; it is handled symbolically, allegorically, as metaphors to arrive to completely different conclusion that is not found in the Scripture. This is done across the board no matter what specific group one is with. On Richard Rohr's website, he has an article titled "The Cosmic Christ," defined as the "christ" whose being they say lives in every human (Christ consciousness). Richard Rohr, "The Cosmic Christ" (The Center for Action and Contemplation) “Christ is called the cosmic Christ with a legion of light to accompany him ." (I Am healing decrees Saint Germaine press 1976 p.30-31) There is a consistency in using the words light, cosmic, Christ along with Aquarian from those involved in the new consciousness paradigm shift. Yungenexplains, “In the Aquarian Age, you will not need the outer saviour, for you will be able to learn how to reach the inner Christ Consciousness ...” (Ray Yungen A time of Departing) In the book ‘The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ’, by Levi H. Dowling, [1920] a favorite among those in the New Age, he teaches of the Christ consciousness, or consciousness of Divine Love. Consciousness of the Holy Breath, or of Supreme Intelligence. On the back cover of the book “From the Akashic Records: The story of Jesus, the man from Galilee, and how he attained the Christ consciousness open to all men.” Dowling believed Jesus and “the Christ” are different. Jesus achieved the “Christ” consciousness and then set out to teach others. “Taught by New Agers to be the state of awareness, reached in meditation, in which one realizes that one is divine and one with God and thereby becoming a Christ or an enlightened being ." Posted By Kevin Reeves and the Editors at Lighthouse Trails) Benjamin Creme who was the forerunner for Maitreya the New Age Christ, wrote: “The Christ is the Embodiment of the energy we call the Christ Consciousness or Principle, the energy of the Cosmic Christ. It is released into the world for us by Maitreya, the Christ, and to the degree that it manifests in us, we will recognise Him.” (The Reappearance of the Christ and the Masters of Wisdom, pp. 48-49). Here is the intent to recognize, accept a counterfeit as christ. Alice Bailey and her spirit guide Djwhal Khul say, “ Eventually the truths thus grasped change the consciousness of humanity as a whole …” They (both spirit and human) and not speaking about spiritual truth from the Scripture but of new revelation from other spirit[s]. Which is what is contained and expressed in Mike Adams' teachings. The Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential , the “core of Christian mystical tradition; one in Christ and attains Christ consciousness ; As Christ consciousness, the empty mind is also Christian consciousness; Christ consciousness is comparable to the emptiness sought through Buddhist meditation”(UIA ENCYCLOPEDIA OF WORLD PROBLEMS AND HUMAN POTENTIAL.) Adams teaching can be seen in a number of these quotes (I did not include them here as they are spoken of prior, and would lengthen this considerably.) Gary Kah writes, “Messiah and the Second Coming, a book promoted by the ecumenical group Spiritual Unity of Nations (SUN), explains it this way: “The birth of the Christ Consciousness within one's own being is the most powerful happening that can occur within the individual. This is the crowning achievement, the first movement toward the complete oneness, the connection between the individualized spark and the Godhead. This is the total link between God and his creation, humanity.” (Gary Kah report) Again from Alice Baily, "When the consciousness which is Christ's has been awakened in all men, then we shall have peace on earth and goodwill among men.” Christ consciousness is basically a modern term for what has been taught for some time in different words found in earlier Occult literature. The teachings of Theosophy are summarized in the book ‘Elementary Theosophy.’ “God and man are but two phases of the one eternal life and consciousness that constitute our universe!... This conception makes a man a part of God, having potentially within him all the attributes and powers of the Supreme Being. It is the idea that nothing exists except God and that humanity is one portion of Him-one phase of His being... man, as a literal fragment of the consciousness of the Supreme Being, is an embryo god, destined to ultimately evolve his latent powers into perfect expression .” (p.16-17 Elementary Theosophy, by L.W. Rogers, 1918) All of this is indicative of what Mike Adams, who is posturing himself as a Christian teacher of the bible says; while not holding to actual beliefs a Christian would. He willingly merges other spiritual beliefs, teaching a new age spirituality coated in Christian terms. And I do not see this being done unknowingly but he is fully aware on what he is presenting to people. Adams assures everyone,“you know, I would not teach anything that was demonic or occultism or anything that invoked evil powers. This is all 100% in alignment with God. And if you don't believe me, look at what Jesus did. Jesus resurrected himself.” (096 - How to make your PRAYERS) How does Jesus’ resurrection prove what Adams is denying? It doesn’t. Clearly he does not understand who Jesus actually is, Scriptures' meanings of basic doctrine, nor of not adding or mixing God’s Word with men’s words. We have seen what he is teaching, the words and concepts that are New Age! Adams talks about awakening to the truth, “a mass awakening of the spirit.” He interprets the scripture of when the Lord Himself “descends from heaven with a shout,”…it is “a great psychic awakening touching people’s consciousness at the same time” (Sermon 024 Mike Adams). This awakening is not about those who died in Christ, being resurrected, but about a consciousness change, which is the New Age message. Adams unequivocally states “ A Consciousness Revolution is the only thing that will end man's evil on Earth.” (5.21.25video demonstration of real-time materialization of physical structures), a denial of Scripture; it’s not the return of Jesus but the new age message of Christ consciousness. Understand that the antichrist will deny that Jesus is ‘the Christ’, the only one. By doing so, he will replace him with a different concept of Christ, and that he too is Christ. Both of these are components necessary to have this accomplished. The Scripture " Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son" (I John 2:22). This is definitely done when one accepts Christ consciousness. Here is what we must understand, as believers in Christ and the Bible. If one adopts in any way the mystical/occultic view of the new age, of the cosmic Christ, Christ consciousness, the person no longer believes in the true Christ, nor in the gospel to have salvation. The reason Christ JESUS came is for sin, not to show us how we can achieve what he achieved. Christ consciousness invalidates who Jesus is, and the gospel is no longer a spiritual necessity for a relationship to God. To sum this up, Jesus was a historical person, but the Christ of the New Age is to attain a higher consciousness, a spiritual condition they claim Jesus did. Christ consciousness is a false view of the Bible's Christ, who is ONLY Jesus. The Bible speaks of the shed blood of the only-begotten Son of God, God who became man as the only sacrifice acceptable to God the Father for the forgiveness of our sins. His last sacrifice was to remove the debt for our sins so we can have a relationship with God and possess eternal life. The difference between what the New Age (Mike Adams) is saying to the Bible, is as night to day!
