The World Mission Society Church of God

A foreign entity calls itself God’s church

Christianity has seen real growth in S. Korea, it has also seen the counterfeits growing. The World Mission Society Church of God has Its headquarters located in Bundang, Sungnam City, Kyunggi Province, near Seoul Korea. They believe that Jesus has already come back and they are exclusive possessors of his second coming.

The World Mission Society Church of God was founded by [Ahn Sang-hong] in 1964, who once was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The General Pastor is Kim Joo-cheol usually seen in public wearing a traditional Korean hanbok. The Church claims to have approximately 400 branch churches in Korea and 120 churches in other countries totaling over 1,000,000 members as of 2008. But having a million members does not justify them saying “Our church is the only true church which God has established on this earth (Acts 20:28)” (welcome message on website).

They Call Korea the Holy Land and make it the birthplace and kingdom of God.

“The Bible prophesies that when Jesus comes to the earth for a second time, He will come in a cloud [in the flesh] in the same way He came for the first time. Therefore, there must be prophecies which testify where He will appear in His second coming. At the time of His first coming, it had been prophesied that Jesus would come from Bethlehem. Like this, the Bible also prophesies about where He will appear in His second coming. The Bible prophesies that He will be born in Korea, located in the east, at the ends of the earth” (All quotes from website)

They then find scriptures that speak of the East. Felix Manalo used these same scriptures for himself (also from7th Day Adventism) when he began Iglesia ni Christo (Isa.41:2,4,11 called himself a bird of prey).

“where is “the east”? … “ It is only Korea that is located in the east, at the ends of the earth. Thus, the Second Coming Christ is prophesied to come from Korea, in the east, at the ends of the earth...The Church of God,  departing from the fixed ideas of men, received Ahnsahnghong as the Second Coming Christ because He has  fulfilled all of the prophecies about Jesus’ second coming.”

One has to mock and distort the Bible to come to this conclusion. Where is Jesus ruling over the earth, their founder whom they claim is Jesus died. It seems logic runs away from them when the obvious points are made from the Bible. Jesus warned of those that would claim to be him (Mt. 24:4-5, 11, 23-26 and said He would  appear bodily and everyone would know of it, not just a few because. What Scripture tells us Jesus will be born  as a human again? Where does the bible say Jesus will be born human twice, when it shows the only fulfillment when He was born in Bethlehem, not Korea. In fact where is Korea mentioned in the Bible?

It tells us over and over Jesus comes from heaven to earth and will judge the world by ending the tribulation with what is called Harmegeddon (the battle in Megiddo), thus removing evil. This has not been done. Nor has any of the other scriptures pertaining to his second coming been found in Ahnsahnghong.

And now our church is taking the lead in the work of salvation, proclaiming the truth of God. The one and only reason our church exists on this earth is that it has the mission of doing the work of God.”

We will see if this has any relationship to the truth found in the Bible which they use to validate themselves, or whether they are giving another gospel with another Jesus.

The Christian Council of Korea, which represents Protestant churches in the country, has declared the World Mission Society Church of God “heresy.” (Source: UNHCR Refworld)

They don’t seem to mind since they use the accusation as proof of their authenticity. According to a visiting assistant professor of Korean Christianity at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) provided the following information: The Church of God” was founded by Ahn Sang-Hong in Seoul in 1964. He joined the Holiness Church in 1947 and believed [in] the imminent Second Coming of Christ. He left the church and made his own church, known as “Ahn Sang-Hong Witness Society.” He insisted that he was the incarnated Holy Spirit who was preparing [for] the Coming of Christ [for] the last time ... After his death [in 1985], his spiritual wife and followers reorganized the Society into “The Church of God, World Mission Society.”

His followers call the founder Christ Ahnsahnghong, and believe him to be the second coming even though he has died. Rev 1:18 says of Jesus "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” In other words he has everlasting life in the body, unable to die.

The Bible is clear that Jesus will return to earth from heaven, the same manner and place he left from, in Jerusalem Israel (Acts 1:8). Their claim is no different than so many others that have come before them asserting their leader is Christ the second coming, (like the Bahai’s for Baha’u’llah). Like their predecessors, the Moonies, they have a representative that is the second coming. And join them in blasphemy.

It is recorded in Acts 1:11-12 the angels said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven. Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet.”

His return Zech 14:4: “And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east.” Whose feet? The one who died for our sins returns; not another named Ahnsahnghong.

However, at the same time he claimed this it is reported that Ahnsahnghong predicted Christ would return in 1967 and later in 1988 which makes no sense considering that he is believed to be the second coming by the followers!

The followers claim Ahnsahnghong is God the Father (the Bible says no man has seen the Father Jn.6:46). That Ahn Sang-Hong restored the new covenant in accordance with the prophecies in the Bible. That the World Mission Society Church of God has received Second Coming Christ (Ahnsahnghong), God the Father, and the heavenly Jerusalem, God the Mother.
They explain a mother God in this way, “When people hear the word “God,” most immediately think of “God the Father,” holding to the fixed idea that only God the Father exists; however, the Bible clearly testifies that there is a God the Mother in addition to a God the Father. We sincerely hope that you can break your fixed, man-made ideas so that you can receive the true Saviors: Christ Ahnsahnghong and Jerusalem Mother.

Like so many cults that have invented an exclusive doctrine
extracted from the Bible, they make it say what it does not to have a unique view on Gods nature. Nowhere is God called a she or a mother (There are a few rare instances that He shows a mothers care for man as his children, Mt.23:37). But never two separate gods that are Father and Mother.

Their campaign is to Preach the love and Glory of New Jerusalem Mother to the Whole World. The evangelists of the world Missions Society introduce themselves (asking whether the individual has heard of the Mother's love, or of Heavenly Mother). They believe Ahn Sahng-Hong is “God the Father,” the second coming of Christ and that Mother Jerusalem is the female incarnation of God, but they also believe that his wife Zang Gil-Jah is the “heavenly Mother” or the incarnation of “God the Mother. The leader of the church today is Zahng Gil Jah, the followers know as the Heavenly Mother (“God the Mother”). Over 70 percent of followers are women From Korea or Korean Americans. The members pray in the name of of Ahn Sang Hong who they believe is the second coming of Christ.

They take Paul’s statement of Gal 4:26-31: “but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children Than she who has a husband.” Paul goes on to explain v.28-31 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.”

This is an allegory that illustrates the believers in Jesus Christ’s citizenship in heaven (Phil.3:20), it is not literal, it is speaking of a spiritual relationship to what is of heaven; on earth, we are in the world but not of it.

They continually introduce the phrase, “and break our own fixed ideas, allowing our minds to accept Gods thoughts” as if one is steeped in traditions and need to be released from holding a Biblical view that is contrary to theirs. It is by this challenge that they convince people they need the truth from them so they can go to heaven.

Salvation- “in the age of the Holy Spirit, of what name should we become the witnesses, what name should we use when we pray, and what name has the authority to give us salvation? The name is Ahnsahnghong, Jesus¡ new name (John 5:39).”

“Everyone living in this last age of the Holy Spirit! Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Savior of this age! Today, salvation is only given through the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong, and only those who are the witnesses of Christ Ahnsahnghong and pray in His name will be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.”

“Please believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong, our Savior in the age of the Holy Spirit, so that you may receive eternal life!”

The Bible warns of many coming in his name saying they are Christ. “Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it” (Matt 24:23), why? Because it will be evident to the whole world when He returns, he will not be known to only a few.

The Bible teaches something very different, in Acts 4:12: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Whom is Peter speaking of? Jesus Christ, not Ahnsahnghong. If you pray in his name, according to Jesus you will not enter heaven. Whom will you believe for the truth? Jesus’ words or another mans?

Eph. 1:20-23 (the Father) “He raised Him (Jesus) from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

Jesus is the head of the church for all time. There is only one savior, who is Jehovah (YHWH). God the Son’s name in Hebrew is Yeshua which means God is savior. So it is pointless to make an issue of this by dividing the ages and applying saviors to each name.

John 5:39 has absolutely nothing to do with a “new name,” Jesus said, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.” It is speaking of Jesus, as the eternal God whom the Scriptures write of from the beginning to its end. The Bible has not changed but men who want to be famous and have power and control over people always insert themselves into the word and apply what is of Jesus Christ to themselves. To pray to a man who is a sinner and died is what the Bible calls idolatry, yet they think other churches are idolatrous!

This church teaches: “we must go to God-Christ Ahnsahnghong and Mother-if we want to receive eternal life and salvation, because They are the only ones who have life. In order to give the everlasting water of life to mortal beings, God came down to this earth in this last age as the Holy Spirit, Ahnsahnghong, and the Bride, the New Jerusalem Mother. People who pervert or deny this Biblical teaching will never be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Really, I missed him being mentioned in the Bible; my Bible says: “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (I Jn. 5:11-12). The Bible testimony is that only the Son has life in himself, but they are directly challenging this.

The Holy Spirit was at work in the prophets before Jesus was incarnated on earth. 2 Peter 1:21-2:1: “For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” Was this Ahnsahnghong who was born a sinner thousands of years later? Was Ahnsahnghong given at Pentecost? Because the Holy Spirit is what all believers who believed in Jesus were given to live in them (Not Ahnsahnghong). The Holy Spirit points to Jesus not another, and Jesus is the only way of salvation for anyone.

Who perverts Biblical teaching? They do. John 14:26: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit , whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

John 15:26-27 Jesus says “he will testify about me” (not testify of Ahnsahnghong).

John 16:13: “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.” What truth, the words Jesus said not anothers.” “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Rev. 19:10).

1 John 4:3: “every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.”

On God’s nature - on the word elohim they teach, “The word “elohim” directly translates to “Gods.” The Bible testifies that God exists in the female image, God the Mother, as well as the male image, God the Father.”

Therefore they believe there are two separate Gods (on their website a father and mother god).

Jerusalem Mother is their elohim God. They believe Elohim is plural. They are correct in one sense and incorrect in another. Whenever elohim is used in a plural sense it is always applied to false gods. When it is applied to the true God it is not speaking of more than one God.

God’s nature is not Triune - They teach that there is only one male persona of God who appears as either Father, Son or Holy Spirit. Each becomes a role of the male God, like any man can take on the role of father, son, husband. This is a denial of the triune nature of God where each person is simultaneously existing, eternal in nature, and does not change into another (Mal.3:1).

The church regards that the earthly family system as a copy and shadow of the heavenly family system, consisting of a Heavenly Father, Heavenly Mother, and the spiritual brothers and sisters (humans).

They teach that there is a different Christ in different ages. They cite 1 Pet. 1:8-9 ; Matt. 28:19 and explain “In order for His people to receive salvation, God divided six thousand years into three ages, and allowed a different Savior’s name for each age.”

“For our salvation, God divided six thousand years into three ages: the age of the Father, the age of the Son, and the age of the Holy Spirit, and He allowed a different Savior’s name for each of these ages, the name of Jehovah in the age of the Father, the name Jesus in the age of the Son, and the name Ahnsahnghong in the age of the Holy Spirit.

“As is commonly known, the name of the Father is “Jehovah,” and the name of the Son is “Jesus.”

“The Bible states that in the age of the Father there was no Savior apart from Jehovah, and that in the age of the Son there was no Savior apart from Jesus.

“Then, in the age of the Holy Spirit, of what name should we become the witnesses, what name should we use when we pray, and what name has the authority to give us salvation?
The name is Ahnsahnghong, Jesus’ new name (John 5:39).” (THE SAVIOR OF EACH AGE AND THE NEW NAME)

This is what is called “modalism” it is exactly what the deniers of the Trinity taught in the early church in the second century (minus Ahnsahnghong inserting himself as being God). This distorted the teaching of the Father and the Son.

“Have you ever thought about why we call God our Father?

“It is written that God's invisible qualities have been clearly seen and can be understood through what has been made (Rom. 1:20). Is there any creature that is given life through only their father, alone, without a mother being present?”

Yes, The Bible teaches Adam was given life by God without a mother? Just as Adam was made from the ground, Eve was made from Adam, from a portion of his side. They did not need a mother or father. To depict God as Mother implies that he gave birth, rather than created. Throughout the worlds history of idolatry cultures believed in a sky father and earth 5mother. To believe in a mother and father God is what pagans believed in the ancient world. For example in Mesopotamian tradition, the human race was created by Enki and the Mother Goddess.

In modern times this church is not the only one to promote a mother God. Mary Baker Eddy interpreted the meaning of, "Our Father which art in heaven," in the Lord's Prayer as "Our Father-Mother God, all harmonious." Mormonism teaches that Jesus (and all spirits) is the offspring of Father God and a heavenly mother in his pre-existence. The Moonies teach that the Holy Spirit is a "female spirit"—the "True Mother" and spiritual wife of Jesus (Divine Principle, p. 215). In the occult message found in the Urantia book, Jesus is said to have a co-creator consort, the “Mother Spirit” of Nebadon.

When interpreting Scripture. If you neglect the foundational doctrines, your understanding of the Word of God will be distorted with unusual ideas, bringing confusion. There is nothing in the Bible that would describe the true God like this, this is a devilish distortion of the scripture. There is a current trend by feminists to redefine the character of God as Mother but this church takes it even further insisting they are separate gods.

The Scripture reveals God exclusively as Father. Jesus taught us to call God Father (Abba) (John 13:20) God has no sexual identity. His character includes feminine traits (Isaiah: 42:14; 45:10; 49:15; 66:13) but he is not once called mother or considered a she.

Malachi 2:10 “Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Jesus speaks of a “ Father in heaven”

(Matt 5:16), never a Mother (Mt.6:1,6,8-9,14,18,26,32 etc.). NOT once is a term or phrase “mother” used for God except by pagans. To attribute this teaching to the Bible is to have an utter disregard for the word of truth. This makes them polytheists not monotheists.

They use the creation of Adam to prove elohim is both Father and Mother. “Both males and females were created in the image of God, and thus it is clear that God has two images: a male image and a female image. When God said, “Let us make man in our image,” God used the word “us”-a plural term-instead of using “me.” We come to understand that not one God, but two Gods-a Father and a Mother-worked together during the Creation. Such plural terms are used to describe God” (they then cite the passages of “us” to describe God).

Gen. 1:26-27 “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness...” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them”

They say, “The above verse states that God has two images-a male image and a female image. Until now, we have only known and called upon the male image of God: “Father.” Then how should we call upon the female image of God? Logically, we should refer to God's female image as “Mother.” This is why God had said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness.”

Some say that the word “us” in this verse indicates God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If this argument is correct, there should be three types of people in the world-those who were made in the image of God the Father, those who resemble the image of God the Son, and those created in the image of the Holy Spirit.”

This is such a distortion, twisting this verse on its head inserting what one wants it to be that it no longer has a shred of the real meaning. When it says God created him, it is speaking of Adam representing the human race that was made from the ground directly from God. Mans image and likeness is not about physical features or bodies but about our moral, spiritual nature created in God’s reflection (image and likeness), God is Spirit. To read more on image and likeness -(http://www.letusreason.org/Biblexp36.htm)

God is Spirit (Jn.4:24) He is invisible, all knowing and all powerful. Then the argument they use for mother and father should also apply to everything. In the Hebrew language, image (tselem) is related to nature, the immaterial part of man. It means we have a spiritual nature like God but in a finite way. Man was created to reflect his creator. Man has an eternal spirit which can live on after the physical body dies. otherwise if mans image was physical in the image of God, Jesus would not have had to take the form of a man he would have already possessed it.

They are incorrectly using a human definition to describe God, it should be the opposite. God’s qualities were put in man, not mans qualities put in God. What they have done is have God both male and female, because humanity is both male and female (as are all creatures). Does God have a literal body as we, does he have reproductive organs and bodily functions as we do! The error should be obvious.

The pagan concept of the Triunity was encapsulated with a Father and a Mother. The reason Gen.1:26 is applied to Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and not to a Father and mother is because these are the only persons called God in the Bible. Only God is eternal, and all three persons have this and the other attributes of God applied to them, what is clearly missing is a mother. The Father is eternal (Isa. 63:16; James 1:17). The Son is eternal, (Heb. 13:8); Speaking of Jesus (Micah 5:2); 1 Tim. 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal” (1 Tim.6:16). The Holy Spirit is eternal (Heb.9:14). All three have creation attributed to them: The Father (Eph.3:14; Mal 2:10). The Son (John 1:3; Heb.1:2; Col. 1:16). The Holy Spirit (helper/comforter) (Ps. 104:30, Job 26:13, 33:4).

If one wants to believe otherwise they can but they should not call it Christianity or call themselves a true church.

Nature of man – The founder Ahn Sang Hong taught that “all men are angels who have come to the earth after sinning in heaven.” (then man is  a fallen angel? The Bible calls them demons)

This is identical to Mormonism. The Church believes that the Spirit was revealed through the creation of human beings. They draw these beliefs from their interpretation of Genesis 2:7, and Ecclesiastes 12:7.

Because the founder was formerly a 7th day Adventist the The World Mission Society Church of God retained certain divisive teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist church and are like Jehovah Witnesses: they concentrate on the same arguments the Sabbath on Saturdays, not celebrating Christmas, and the Christian cross is a symbol of idolatry.

The Sabbath - They teach Worship on Sunday is sin. Constantine, a former pagan, made Sunday the day of worship in honor of his sun god. The church believes that the Sabbath day was established by God to be Saturday and that it is a day set apart to commemorate God as Creator. The problem is that the Sabbath began on Friday night. And the church was holding assembly on Sunday hundreds of years before Constantine made it a Roman law.

The World Mission Society Church of God teaches, “No matter how many members a church has, if the church has different doctrines than those of Jesus Christ, it could not have originated from Jesus. We keep the Sabbath day-the memorial day of the Creator-not observing the law of the Old Testament, but following the law of the new covenant which Jesus and the apostles obeyed.”

“The saints, who will be saved on the last day, the day of God's judgment, are those who follow in Jesus' footsteps. The Sabbath day, one of Christ's footmarks, is a very precious commandment of God.”

On the Sabbath they teach, “The Church of God was established on the foundation of the apostles who followed

the teachings of Jesus Christ, and it has not changed since its inception. The true Church follows the laws which Jesus and the apostles observed.”

Did the apostles observe the Sabbath after the resurrection as obligatory to their salvation? Absolutely NOT. Acts 2:42 states that the early Church followed “the Apostles’ doctrine,” not Old Testament law. The apostles went to the synagogue on the Sabbath to reach out to their Jewish brethren not because they had to keep the day for worship.

“Acts 17:2 As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures...”
Acts 20:6-7 “But we sailed from Philippi after the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven days. On the first day of the week we came together to break bread...”
As it is written in the above verses, the apostles kept the Sabbath day.”

These points of theirs are flimsy -- if you read through Acts 17 they were not there to worship on the day but to evangelize. Acts 20:6-7 says the first day not the seventh which is the Sabbath.

While the World Mission Society Church of God insists Jesus and his apostles kept the Sabbath they neglect what happened after the Old Testament law was put aside for new covenant believers from the last sacrifice, Jesus Christ.

The New Covenant is the primary focus of the New Testament and is the last covenant of the Bible because it reveals the grace of God through Christ to all mankind. The Bible itself says the Sabbath is no longer required. Gal. 3:23-25 “But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed.  Therefore the Law has become our tutor {to lead us} to Christ, that we may be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.” Rom. 6:14-15 “for you are not under law, but under grace.” Rom. 7:6 “But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.” The true church is dead to the law and alive to God through Christ. If a church tries to keep the Old Testament law they are dead to Christ. Paul makes it clear in Gal. 3:21 “For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.” In the period of grace through the new covenant, “the law is not of faith,” they cannot be combined.

According to the New Testament teaching there is NO MORE (Old Testament) LAW for true believers. As believers in the new covenant it NO longer is our instructor. But it is for those who are lawless (1 Tim.1:9).

Col. 2:14: “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”  Jesus has interposed Himself between us and the law and we are now “under” Him. Christ fulfilled everything of the law, which includes the Sabbath. The “Sabbath day was nailed to cross” along with all the rest of the law. This is why Paul write, Col 2:16: “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,” Paul goes from the wider to the narrower; from Years, to months, to days, which encompasses all the Sabbath days.

Paul did not want the New covenant believer to become entangled in bondage again by obligation to the law. He taught Christ is the “Substance”, these things in the Old Testament were shadows (including the Passover).

In Gal.4:10 Paul writes,” You observe days and months and seasons and years. “But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be know by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again? “the Sabbath is called “a sign” in the Old Testament (Exod. 31:17; Ezek. 20:12) and “a shadow” in the New Testament (Col. 2:17). Sabbath is called “a sign” in the Old Testament (Exod. 31:17; Ezek. 20:12) and “a shadow” in the New Testament (Col. 2:17). The Sabbath is in the 10 Commandments, which are the Old covenant given to Israel. Israel was told to work 6 days not 5. If you work only 5 then you have broken the law of the Sabbath since he states to work 6 in the Sabbath commandment.

The writer of Hebrews quotes Jer.31:31 in Heb. 8:13, “A new {covenant} “ He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear”. This teaches that we are under a new and superior covenant. Heb. 10:9-10 He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Jesus took away the first that He might establish the second, meaning they are not the same, nor a continuation (Heb. 10:5-9); that now the righteousness of God is revealed without the aid of the law (Rom. 3:21-22).

The Mosaic Law was given exclusively to Jewish people only, and was in effect only until the Messiah died (and rose again). The only commandments a believer is obligated to obey today is the Law of Christ. The World Mission Society Church of God are confused on which covenent to live under. This is typical of those who hold to 7th day lawkeeping which has been proven to be wrong on so many levels.

Baptism - They teach that baptism is only the first necessary step toward salvation. “Baptism is the first step we can take toward salvation. Through this gracious regulation of God, our sins are cleansed and we are atoned.”

“Baptism is the first step that we can take towards becoming a child of God, and to be baptized correctly, we must first know the name of the Father, the name of the Son, and the name of the Holy Spirit.”

They believe that baptism is a law of the new covenant and that it is able to cleanse the soul and atone for the believer's sin. This is what is called baptismal regeneration, it takes the emphasis off the gospel, which is the work Christ did for us by dying on the cross and have us depend on our own work. Eph.2:8 tells us we cannot be saved by work but by faith. All physical actions are a work. The Bible teaches it is Jesus’ blood that cleanses us from all sin, not water. Eph. 1:7-9: “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins” Heb. 9:22: “according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.” The Old Testament sacrifices for sin show it is the blood (without water) that gives us forgiveness. Jesus fulfilled these types (Lev. 5:10, 16:15, 19, 30, 17:11. Ex. 12:5, Deut. 16:1, 2). Heb. 9:11-12: “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Chapters 9 and 10 of Hebrews points to His purchasing us from sin through his death. The new covenant (Heb. 9:2, 26) is through Jesus Himself. There is no water involved as the substance of the new covenant.

They teach, “God established the principle of the forgiveness of sins through baptism, so that we could realize that baptism is one of God's righteous laws, given to us for our salvation (1 John 1:33).”

The Bible makes it clear Gal. 2:16 “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ.” Baptism is a work of obedience but has nothing to do with one becoming saved from this work. Titus 3:5: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,” Eph 2:8: “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves of works, {it is} the gift of God;” Notice it is in the past tense by faith. If you are saved by baptism then you are not saved by His death on the cross, you can’t have both as salvation.

“Through baptism, we receive the forgiveness of our sins, our names are written in the book of life in heaven, and we are born again with a new life, just as Jesus was raised from the dead. That is why we are baptized. If we have not been baptized, we cannot keep the Passover, and unless we keep the Passover, our names cannot be written in the book of life. We must be baptized, and then keep the Passover, so that we can escape the last plagues and enter the eternal kingdom of heaven.”

The Passover

They further assert “only those who keep the Passover and obey His commands will be saved.”

“After one is baptized they believe the Passover is the bread and the cup, that we must take otherwise we will not have salvation.

“John 6:53-55 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and

drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink." Jesus promised that the bread of the Passover was His flesh, and that the wine of the Passover was His blood”

“Since Jesus said, "unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you" (John 6:53), how can we receive eternal life unless we celebrate the Passover? Jesus called the Passover the new covenant.”

Jn.6 is not about the Passover it is an idiom about believing in his words. They make the same mistake the Roman Catholics do. The Passover is not mentioned in this section.

Jn. 6:35 says, “I am the bread of life; he that comes to Me shall never hunger, and he that believes on Me shall never thirst. In Jn.6:41-42 The Jews wonder at His statement about coming down from Heaven. Thinking he is speaking of his body. V. 47He who believes in Me has everlasting life.” Here Jesus points to himself as the source, by believing not eating. V.49 “the fathers ate the bread in the wilderness and they all died,” in v.50 he then points to Himself as the solution V. 54 he says, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” Moments earlier he had said, “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him, may have eternal life; and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” He then sums it up by saying v.63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. "But there are some of you who do not believe."

It is not literal but figurative language he is using to explain a spiritual meaning, he used a natural example to illustrate a spiritual truth. The words he speaks are spirit, and they are life, “to eat” means “to believe” his words.

John introduced Jesus as the Passover sacrifice to Israel as ‘The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’ (Jn. 1:29). He would become this on the feast of Passover, when he was crucified. The sacrificed lamb of the Passover pictured the true Lamb of God, who would come and give ‘“Himself a ransom for all” (1 Tim. 2:6). They are using the symbol as equal to the real event. Jesus said the Passover cup and bread symbolized something, Himself. It was not the substance, HE WAS. The only time the Passover is mentioned after the resurrection for the church was when Paul stated, “Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us” (1 Cor 5:7).

“The reason why we want to receive the flesh and blood of Jesus—given to us through the Passover—is because Jesus, who is life, promised that when we eat His flesh and drink His blood, we will live forever.” “Jesus called the Passover the new covenant.”

Did He? Or did he say it represents HIM.

The Passover is memorial feast for the people of Israel, it is known to us as the Lords supper (1Cor.11:20) Passover was instituted to remember Egypt, while the Lord's Supper is to remember Christ's death (Exod. 12:26; 1 Cor. 11:25). They take the position that the Lord’s Supper will bring salvation instead of the actual event.

1 Cor. 11:25-26 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.”

Proclaim the Lord's death, Jesus, not the cup of wine. Do they no longer partake of this cup since according to their teaching Jesus has already come a second time.

Heb 9:25-26: “not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another-- He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”

Heb 13:20: “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant” Through the blood, which is called the everlasting covenant.

Rev 7:14: they “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Not the wine they drank in the cup at Passover.

John 13:20: “he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me."

Their interpretations are not from the Holy Spirit but of man.

They state, “Ahnsahnghong, who restored the Passover of the new covenant, is the Second Coming Christ? God? who appeared in accordance with all of the prophecies of the Bible. The saints of the Early Church had cherished and celebrated the Passover of the new covenant! Christ Ahnsahnghong came in the flesh and restored the Passover so that we may be saved from the impending plagues. The Passover of the new covenant is the very gospel of Christ.”

Actually the gospel is not the Passover but the one the Passover represents. Read 1 Cor.1:15:1-4, it is about Jesus himself who died and rose again from the dead. The Passover is a ceremony, we are not saved by a ritual or a ceremony but by the actual event from the person Passover illustrated. And it takes faith not a work to receive it. Jesus did not speak of a Passover to be saved, But to believe in HIM.

Heb 9:15 He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death” This is what he mean by taking “the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:20).

Notice in My blood, what he shed, not the cup he is having them drink from in the Passover service.

To claim that Ahnsahnghong, appeared in accordance with all of the prophecies of the Bible has no weight when one actually reads the Bible and lets it speak without an outside influence of interpretation. Again this churches interpretation has no relation to the actual meanings of the word.

“The Fruit of the Tree of Life Is the Bread and Wine of the Passover “ That “Eating the bread of the Passover and drinking the Passover wine is eating of the tree of life in the Garden of Eden.”

“the devil abolished the truth of the Passover at the Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D. It means the tree of life was hidden and no one could have eternal life.” That is until “Christ Ahnsahnghong Who Restored Us the Tree of Life” “Therefore, Ahnsahnghong is Christ who came in this age according to all the prophecy of the Bible. He restored the truth of the Passover, the tree of life, and saved us from our sin and death. He is our God.”

The Council of Nicaea was not about the Passover nor did it discussed it, it was about Christ being God in the flesh, of which they deny.

They deny Jesus is still the savior which is very serious error, and in his place worship a dead man named Ahnsahnghong. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:” receive whom and What name? Jesus. Exactly when did the name Jesus end in this age? They are not using some kind of secret interpretation intentionally overlook the Holy Spirit was sent and the church preached Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is an intentional worship of a dead man

The apostles provided the doctrine which the church would practice until Jesus returns. “And he (Christ) is the head of the body, the church” (Col. 1:18). In Eph. 4:4 we are told there is one body (universal), one Spirit (Holy Spirit). V. 5 says one Lord (Jesus Christ), one faith (the belief that saves). The Body of the Christ is made of every believer both Jews and Gentiles from the time of Pentecost until Jesus returns. It is not called the body of Ahnsahnghong. Rom. 8:9 states: “if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

The bible says, John 20:31 “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name ”(not another name). As John sums up his point in his first epistle. “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (I Jn. 5:13). That name is Jesus no other.
