One of the main signs of the end of the age The sign of the end. “Mark 13:6: "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and will deceive many.” (I am he, “he” is not in the original.) Luke 21:8-9 adds, 'The time has drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them.” Before the real I AM returns, who is Jesus, He warns many will impersonate him. Mt. 24:5: "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.” In these passages we see two forms that are being used today by new agers and even those inside the church, “I am” and Christ. Christ is your God-essence or the Self, as it is sometimes called in the East. The only difference between Christ and presence is that Christ refers to your indwelling divinity regardless of whether you are conscious of it or not, whereas presence means your awakened divinity or God-essence." (Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now) Which we see as pervasive, many have made Christ into a principle, a consciousness in the New Age Movement. Benjamen Creme said, “Maitreya embodies the energy we call the Christ Principle." Helena Blavatsky said, “Christos is neither the Christ of the Churches, nor yet the Jesus of the Gospels; it is only an impersonal Principle.” “Note well, “Christos” with the Gnostics meant the impersonal principal, the Atman of the Universe, and the Atma within every man’s soul – not Jesus.” (H.P. Blavatsky, “The Secret Doctrine” Vol. 1, p. 132) They refer to the gnostic gospels which contradict the Bible as valid, these were written long after the Bible was distributed. They claim many of the new age / occult teachings were removed at Nicea. Nicea seems to be the blame for so many things, cults say they added the trinity then (not true). New agers say they removed reincarnation then (not true). If one goes to the primary resources they find what really took place were debates on a new doctrine on Jesus’ nature that was intruding into the church. Whether Jesus was a creature, some called divine, or was God come in the flesh. The Bibles position won out among the many pastors. The idea of Jesus becoming divine is now what we see as a standard in the new age movement, that he became a self realized God. They present this Christ as the same for everyone. Which is what Tielhard De Chardin said "A general convergence of religions upon a universal Christ who fundamentally satisfies them all” ”If Christian people are to recognize their place within a worldwide divine revelation and see Christ as representing all the faiths and taking His rightful place as World Teacher. He is the World Teacher and not a Christian teacher.… They may not call Him Christ, but they have their own name for Him and follow Him as truly and faithfully as their Western brethren” (Alice Bailey & Djwhal Khul (Bold added) Alice Bailey & Djwhal Khul, The Reappearance of the Christ, Chapter IV) Jesus warned of this very thing, where another would come in his own name, that is exactly what Maitreya claims. There is a good portion of people involved that see him as the Christ but this does not exclude another. Alice Bailey followed in the footsteps of Blavatsky her mentor and influenced many into a occult worldview. Helena Blavastky also prophesied events at the close of this century. Both Bailey and Blavatsky spoke of very similar concepts and proved that when this occurs it would fulfill what the bible says, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.” None of what they said was actually new, it was repeated from Rosicrucianism and Masonry, and Mysticism and Gnosticism. .And why not, as Theosophy was considered "the synthesis of science, religion and philosophy", proclaiming that it was reviving an "Ancient Wisdom" which underlies all the world's religions. Bailey also stated this would result with “The Mysteries will then be restored, unifying all faiths.” “…The church must show a wide tolerance, and teach no revolutionary doctrines or cling to any reactionary ideas. The church as a teaching factor should take the great basic doctrines and (shattering the old forms in which they are expressed and held) show their true and inner spiritual significance. The prime work of the church is to teach, and teach ceaselessly, preserving the outer appearance in order to reach the many who are accustomed to church usages. Teachers must be trained; Bible knowledge must be spread; the sacraments must be mystically interpreted, and the power of the church to heal must be demonstrated.” (Alice A. Bailey, The Externalization of the Hierarchy) Let me focus on the main theme, the goal of redefining concepts “…The church as a teaching factor should take the great basic doctrines and (shattering the old forms in which they are expressed and held).” The esoteric interpretations of the New Age would become more pervasive than the literal interpretation. Meanings are spiritualized and applied when there is no real connection in the meaning. This was done by William Branham who had interpretations that would be more at home with the new age occult movement than the Biblical exegesis. The New age practices are openly used today and the undiscerning believer, church attendee does not notice what is being taught. The goal is out in the open, “…preserving the outer appearance in order to reach the many who are accustomed to church usages….” And, the “basic doctrine” referred to by Bailey pertains to the person of Jesus Christ, and mankind. Who is he and who are we? Is he unique, are we sinners? This is seen by those who teach that we can do all that Jesus did, concepts distributed by new prophets that also teach the manifest sons of God doctrine that came from the Latter rain (which would be liken to Joel’s army of miracle workers and the newer Elijah revolution or generation) Marilyn Furgueson who was a main proponent of the “new age” whose book is referred to by many an activist stated, 'The radical Center of spiritual experience seems to be knowing without doctrine ... the teacher does not impart knowledge but technique. This is the 'transmission of knowledge by direct experience.' Doctrine on the other hand, is second-hand knowledge, a danger- ... advice of Ranzai, 'Do not get entangled in any teaching." (The Aquarian Conspiracy, Marilyn Ferguson, pp. 371, 377.) Alice Bailey Citing Jn.3:3. This is the second birth, and from that moment vision comes with increasing power. ... The Christ is being born today in many a human being, and increasingly will the sons of God appear in their true nature, to take over the guidance of humanity in the New Age.” (Alice Bailey Esoteric Psychology, Vol. I. p. 291/2). The occultists, theosophists that forged a spiritual new age introduced the concept of the manifest sons of God that the Latter Rain promotes today. Bill Hamon explains this teaching in his 1997 book Apostles, Prophets and the Coming Moves of God (foreword by C. Peter Wagner and endorsements by Oral Roberts, Cindy Jacobs and others). “These manifested sons of God will emerge “in one generation” displaying all kinds of “signs, wonders and miracles” (Apostles, Prophets, p 11,13) new age apostle Alice Bailey said, “If God is God, then His divinity will adapt itself to the emerging divinity of the sons of God.” Hitler, deeply involved in mysticism and pursued occultic power by sending expeditions to India and Tibet in search of Hindu and Buddhist secrets. Herman Rauschning, Governor of Danzig, a close friend of the Fuehrer, claimed that Hitler confided in him: "I will tell you a secret. I am founding an Order . . . . the Man-God, that splendid Being, will be an object of worship . . . ." It has been this way since the fall in the garden. Butterworth on “The Divinity of Man” “Quite often, I am criticized for saying that Jesus is not Divine. Actually, I am not saying that Jesus is not Divine, but I insist that all persons are Divine. Jesus made the discovery of the Divinity of man. He proved and demonstrated it in his own fulfillment. But the discovery was of the potential of all human beings…. On Jesus he had this to say “Fundamentalists believe Jesus was God becoming man. I believe that Jesus was man becoming God.” Oprah Winfrey states “Discover the power within you” and what Eric Butterworth says in that book is that Jesus did not come to teach how divine he was but came to teach us there is divinity within us” Jesus is the “way shower,” the savior, in that he has revealed the Divine Potential of humankind.” (website) I see little difference by a so called best selling Christian author Joe Kovacs who says in his books (The Divine Secret and Shocked by the bible) and interviews on Christian radio God is expanding adding to himself, making creatures into God, whom he calls his family. Which mean God is changing. Enlarging himself. Kovac’s says “My goal is to educate people about the solid truth of Scripture and to stop the spread of erroneous information.” Yet Bible passages are taken out of context, spiritual meanings are made literal and literal and made spiritual all to promote that we are gods. As the old secular saying goes “the only sure thing in life is death and taxes.” for the end times we can apply this saying that “all will be considered god[s].” The apostasy speaks of Jesus as neither God nor the only Christ. It is flattery that is used to inflate man’s pride, teaching that man is Divine, God. The best way to convince someone of something false is by experience, by their feelings and their senses because it bypasses the critical thinking of the mind, which God gave man to scrutinize what is right and wrong. An angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14; 2 Thess. 2:9), will introduce you to a spiritual experience that will seem so “Bible like.” You may have a real spiritual experience as are a nearly all counterfeits are, you may even have Jesus appear. But, he is not the historic Jesus of the Bible that is now in heaven waiting for the day to call his saints home. The Bible warns us about “another Jesus, Another spirit that comes to deceive. In the end this spirit works through many people and delivers a message that is dressed for our time. That Christ is not a single person but a principle, a consciousness (according to New Age philosophy). This changes what Christ is and who He is. The goal of the new age Christ is to do more miracles, its emphasis is on the miracles signs and wonders, than the reading of Scripture. This is what we see in William Branham who claimed to be the Elijah type for the last days, he is the model for the church. It is also what the Bible has identified as Mystery Babylon, that it will take place again in the last days as it did after the flood. This is known as the Plan. Understand that there is a difference of God’s plan in prophecy that is written in the Bible and man’s plan given by new revelation, dreams and visions and interpretations from the perspective of other religious/spiritual teachings. The difference is night and day, Darkness and light; truth and falsehood. You decide if these quotes of Bailey and others are relative to the eschatology now being implemented today by the New Apostolic movement. We have a teaching which has ingrained itself in the church through the New Apostolic movement called the 7M Mandate, about 7 mountains in culture. In a chapter entitled “Apostles in the Workplace,” Peter Wagner detailed the “strategy for war” for marketplace transformation, and asks for leaders to “standardize our terminology” for the “7 spheres” or “7 mountains” or "7 gates" of society that must be transformed. “These segments of society should be seen as apostolic spheres In “The 7 Mountain Mantle: Receiving the Joseph Anointing to Reform Nations, I write much about this chapter telling of the coming Josephs who would arise in every mountain and be instrumental in the reforming of society. We will now see a significant acceleration of change in every area of culture, as great shining ones will arise as never before.” http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=14839 Great Shining ones? This is very much new age term (go on the web to see the books that use this). Whatever change is now occurring is not good. Societies are changing and the obvious is that they are becoming more sinful. This famine in Joseph’s day only affected the surrounding areas, not the whole world as Enlow expands the application. Joseph was a single individual not a group. The Bible tells us after Joseph that Israel was in captivity by the Pharaoh. So if one is going to use this example they should use the other also. Enlow also says “In my aforementioned book, The 7 Mountain Mantle, I spoke of three sequential, prophetic time periods I was shown by the Lord after the Stock Market crashed on Rosh Hashanah 2008, and the Dow Jones dropped a record 777.7 points in one day.” This use of numbers is Christianized Mysticism. This is a trend that has found itself in the church, spiritualizing events. This is typical of how the Kabbalist teachings are in the new apostolic, making use of numerology. As if the number 7 has a greater power and significance when it is repeated. Alice Bailey, “We are seeing a surge of new spirituality that is an initiation into the synthesis. It is a mystical revolution that will usher in a mystical age” (The Externalization of the Hierarchy p. 254)
Author of introducing the new age Christ, Marianne Williamson, “It is a mystical revolution that will usher in a mystical age.” (Healing the Soul of America, Marianne Williamson, p. 254). Here we are as the mystical age develops. They call it the Age of Aquarius, The Bible calls it the end of the age before the Tribulation. It’s really an Occult revolution that is permeating the church as well as the world. And the Revivals the Latter Rain adherents speak of will no doubt coalesce with the counterfeit New Age outpouring. New Ager Brad Steiger observing the changes said, “…there is some kind of new Pentecost going on at this time, some kind of spiritual awakening process at work. And a good many of these observers feel that this growing mystical consciousness may have something to do with the Last Day.” (Brad Steiger, Gods of Aquarius p. 222) Mysticism has always opposed the teachings of Christ. Experiential Christianity is the basis of Mysticism and Gnosticism, There is a huge difference in biblical spirituality and mysticism. Spirituality is walking in the Spirit of Christ, being under the Holy Spirits control living by the word. New ager and spiritual transformationalist Barbara Marx Hubbard, in The Book of Co-Creation wrote: "Out of the full spectrum of human personality, one-fourth is electing to transcend . . . One- fourth is destructive [and] they are defective seeds. In the past they were permitted to die a 'natural death.' . . . Now as we approach the quantum shift from the creature-human to the co-creative human—the human who is an inheritor of god-like powers—the destructive one-fourth must be eliminated from the social body . . . Fortunately, you are not responsible for this act. We are. We are in charge of God's selection process for planet Earth. He selects, we destroy. We are the riders of the pale horse, Death." This goes in concert with "The bringing of the kingdom of {God}, the preparation for the coming {Christ} and salvaging of mankind..." (The Spiritual Hierarchy, Booklet, Lucis Trust, p. 8). The Church is being infiltrated by new age doctrines and practices that are hosted by new agers who claim Christianity. They promote healings and miracles taking precedent over the truth, which is God’s word. Experience over doctrine. This is the change that Baily spoke of. We should be aware of the influences that want to turn those who hold to the Biblical Christ to loosen their belief and follow instead the neo Gnostics and mystics that will increase in power and effectiveness as the harbinger of the end of the age. |
