The fire falls again p.2

When Pentecost occurred it wasn’t for the church to have an experience of falling down and acting like drunks, being wobbly and laying out on the floor shaking. The first activity that was done after they left the upper room was evangelism.

Not once do we see the church roasting and on the floor from fire. God does not make us speechless, paralyzed but gives us words to speak and wants us to be active to reach others.

What example’s do we have in the New Testament. When Zechariah was struck dumb by the angel who made unable to speak, it was a judgement.

The apostles taught no one about a fire baptism, we do not see anyone experience a fire baptism, it is not mentioned once! Rodney Browne, Benny Hinn and others are lying to the church. The apostles spoke of the Spirit who is God, he is to have control of us.

There are no signs and wonders in the New Testament as these men describe. They have forged a different Christianity by a different spirit that leads to a different Jesus.

So where does this all come from? The Latter Rain movement of the 40’s.

It is important to point out that Branham promoted being slain. drunk in the Spirit. He said it was the power of God continuing in the church, the new wine. He gave an example of him laying hands on a person who fell under the power of God

It was led by William Branham who said Was the Pentecostal Church a noisy church, back at the beginning when the Holy Ghost first fell? The virgin Mary, like she was drunk, staggering under the power of God, and all of them like that. And the people said, "They're full of new wine." That's the way the church was ordained. … Every time God has a church, it'll be that same kind of church.” (60-1218, The Uncertain Sound, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

At the beginning, it was Pentecost, not an organization but a Pentecostal experience … made men and women speak in tongues and stagger like drunk man.” (60-1127M, It Wasn't So From The Beginning, Life Tabernacle, Shreveport, LA)

He even spoke of Mary "before God would ever let her come to heaven, she had to go up to the day of Pentecost and receive the Holy Ghost, and staggered under the power of God like a drunk woman." (61-1015E, Respects, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

He even claimed that those in the upper room were drunk from the Spirit. The Bible says it was the mockers that claimed they were drunk from hearing unknown tongues and not understanding the different languages spoken.  No believer, Christian ever said they were drunk.

After Branham, Kenneth Hagi, a contemporary, employed laughter in some of his meetings.

Much of today's revivalism can be attributed to Branham admirer Benny Hinn.

Modern history

Before coming to America Rodney Browne was directly influenced by Kenneth Hagin, via  Ray McCauley's church which was connected with Rhema -Kenneth Hagin's ministry. He attended this church when Hinn visited Ray McCauley’s church in S. Africa in 1986 and was getting people to laugh under his anointing. He called it “holy LAUGHTER”

We see Rodney Browne next in 1991 on stage at Benny Hinn’s church and being called forward by Hinn. "Rodney, God has given you a great anointing for this. Let the holy laughter hit them in Jesus' mighty name... (excitedly Hinn says) it's coming [zaps him]....  Hinn laid hands on his forehead (supposedly giving the impartation they call the anointing) and Browne goes down on the floor. He then inaugurates him into ministry by saying “pick him up. Now release it on the people, Rodney!” “go ahead Rodney.”

Rodney starts off by awkwardly saying, "Be filled right now. In the name of Jesus, I command you to laugh right now. I loose the joy of the Lord right now. In the name of Jesus, let it bubble out of your belly right now in Jesus' name. Let the joy of the Lord bubble out of your belly. Lord make everybody drunk in the Holy Ghost. Make everybody drunk in the Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus [repeats this 10 times] ... "

Command one to laugh” asking God to make them drunk in the Holy Ghost, when there is not such biblical practice. This all began by the blind leading the blind.

He repeats this over and over ad nauseam at his meetings. This first time was not the polished shtick that the world was exposed to when he aired on Praise the Lord program on TBN at the Carpenter’s Home Church. Nor what they see today.

At a 1993 Kenneth Copeland meeting Rodney Browne begins to prophesy of the Latter Rain:

"This is the day, this is the hour," saith the Lord "that I am moving in this earth. This is the day that I'll cause you to step over into the realm of the supernatural. ... The drops of rain are beginning to fall to the glory of God….for this is the day of the fire and the glory of God coming unto His Church. Rise up this day.... To drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink [tongues]. We drink [tongues] [he laughs]. O yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, we don't worry about what other people say. No, it doesn't matter what they think. Ha, ha, ha, ho, oooh (They then speak to each other in tongues and laugh as if someone told a joke and they understand it).”

In these meetings the practice of suggestion and autosuggestion are employed.  Certainly many believers, having ceased to watch and pray (according to these men’s command) accept what is taking place. Because one of the things that Rodney Browne states and the Toronto Blessing’s preachers tell believers is that they must not examine what they see and hear in the light of the Scripture nor should they try to understand what they see and hear in the light of the Scriptures, but they must accept it as if it is from God. This has them fall under the influence of seducing spirits.

It doesn’t say anywhere in Scripture to get drunk in the Spirit but the very opposite. Ephesians 5:18 says: "Do not get drunk on wine which leads to debauchery, but be filled with the Holy Spirit." Which to Paul is the opposite. From this verse came Browne’s distorts doctrine by saying we are to be drunk in the Spirit. Rodney Howard-Browne says: "There's a way to get drunk in the natural so there must be a way to get drunk in the spiritual."  Not true as far as the Bible, but true in false religious practices as from guru’s.

People are deceived with the empty words from skillful preachers that celebrate disorder and confusion

They do not advance the teaching of Christ but prevent it. They make Pentecost a holy feast day of Israel into a mockery.

Rodney Browne tells stories like the Holy Spirit would blow into buildings so powerfully that Rodney had to hold onto the podium, “because it nearly blew me flat on the floor.” It didn’t do this on Pentecost, but the new Pentecost is more powerful. More applicable to this is the bible speaking of winds of doctrine, from deceivers.

If the church acted like the Berean’s, much of these teachings and practices introduced from these popular ministers of our today would be rejected. The church would be much healthier. The fact is--some big ministries should be questioned instead of being promoted - the people need to warned about them. By discerning what is being said, testing it, we find what is challenging the truth.

To Timothy (1 Tim. 3:2-3) Paul says to be “temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, …not given to wine, not violent, …but gentle, (1 Tim. 3:8 Likewise deacons). The Bible commands us to be sober, aware all through its pages. to be aware is to be wineless.

Acts 2:13-15 Others mocking said, "They are full of new wine."  But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice saying heed my words. For these are not drunk, but Rodney Browne says they were drunk.

The promoters of the new Pentecost have taken their doctrine from mockers.

According to these men we have not seen yet what is really going to be like, total chaos. The NAR is fully involved in this promotion as they were with Todd Bentley.

Mike Bickle talks of future manifestations:

"The church doesn’t really have a vision for the King. I mean honestly, I know a few little renewal groups overdid it a little here and there, but the church by and large, looked at the renewal and said 'Where's that?' I say 'Listen guys, laughing and falling - that's not a big deal. Fire, blood, and smoke are coming to the meetings. Don’t worry about the falling and laughing thing I don’t-and there’s division everywhere, -No, no, no He did Genesis 1 ok? The God we - the Man we worship has Genesis 1 on His resume. I said 'The renewal - again, a few groups did a little this and that, so what? So what? It is nothing compared to Acts 2:19. Blood, fire, and smoke are going to appear in the meetings.' Well, whose blood? Don't clap yet. Talk to Ananias and Saphira, they might have an opinion. He's the King. We're not ready for an invasive Bridegroom that's going to jealously bring forth the fullness of all we are even in this age to Him in total obedience..."   (National School of the Prophets: Mike Bickle #000512011A Friday may 12, 2000 11:00 am)

Besides his subtle threat of those dropping dead (blood) his point is that we are going to be invaded. Laughing or slain is minor to what is going to take place from this “new Pentecost.”

Which should alert anyone that knows Scripture that it is not the same Pentecost but a counterfeit.

Browne agrees saying "I believe we slipped over the edge into this great outpouring in 1990." In his meetings, this is what he claims happened at the first Pentecost, so this is clearly a reference to the Latter Rain movement that he fully supports and promotes. He goes on to say, agreeing with Paul Cain who agreed with Branham that "This coming revival will be a culmination of all other revivals” (p.24 "The Coming Revival by Rodney Howard Browne)

NAR promotion of fire

From the beginning of Peter Wagner’s gathering of the prophets and apostles we hear of Pentecost of fire and being drunk in the Spirit and what is to come.

Cindy Jacobs, the fire breathing prophetess “There's gonna be a fiery issue out of our mouths.  The fire of God.  The glory of fire, the Holy Fire, whatever you what to tell it.  The fire of the living God that came in us at Pentecost, you see, we just didn't receive tongues, we received fire at Pentecost.  And the fire of the Holy Spirit is coming. And it's going to issue out from us into the nations of the earth…. Send them home with fire. Fire.  Fire, fire.  Burn, Lord, burn, Lord, burn, Lord.  Let the fire burn, yeah, Pentecost fire.  … We, we don't understand about the Holy Spirit.  We're talking about the river of God, but this river of fire, we don't understand be baptized in fire.  We don't understand this part of Pentecost.  We don't understand what happened, and out of that fire, what happened.  But we've gotta get a revelation of fire and intercession.  We've got to get a revelation of fire and the prophetic, so we can under, establish judgment, and so we can under, establish justice…. Nor do we understand how the fire of God can come from our mouth, that Pentecost fire when we receive with the fullness of the Holy Spirit in our lives.” ("Mobilizing the Prophetic Office." at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11th, 2000.)

Jim Lafoon also tells us at the same meeting with Bickle. God said “son I did the same thing to my church at Pentecost I know those Hebraic Jews would have never messed with those Grecian Jews, I know they didn’t like all those people from other countries. So I got them all drunk, they got drunk in the Holy Ghost, they started loving other nations they started loving everybody. Everything was wonderful in the early church till chapter 6 and when they sobered up all hell broke loose, man the Hebrew widows get better treatment we Greeks want our rights!”

We Greeks want our rights! What is happening here, the holy spirit spoke to me “oh its revival everyone’s drunk everyone loves one another, they look at races they always been afraid of and say I love you like my own family.” They look at people they would never even sit by and throw their arm around them drunk under the anointing, and the holy spirit spoke to me “sooner or later churches all over America are gonna sober up.” And in that moment of sobriety when all of a sudden you roll over and while you were sleeping God has Labanized you and your pastor is never someone you would have chosen sober I mean people say how can Dr. Wagner his age be with all these weird people, he’s been on 14 year drunk, it’s the only way to explain it, he’s not been sober for years, now you got a choice, you see when revival draws back and it does and when churches all of a sudden” (Jim Lafoon National School Of The Prophets Mobilizing The Prophetic Office 2,000)

(I want to pause and comment here. If it is the year 2000 when he said this and Wagner’s been drunk for 14 years, this brings us to when he was in the Vineyard and certain group of prophets (known as Kansas city prophets) were an influence. That means he was drunk since 1986, he was one of the first.

The Enemy is subtle in his capturing the people he wants to use, but not in his leading. He is forceful and adamant when he tries to convince people this is what the bible actually says when it does not!

Their fire anointing does not producing the fruit of the spirit, how can it when it is not the Holy Spirit? There is no separate fire baptism for believers in the Bible, it is for unbelievers. Who will you side with? The Bible that is inspired, or these men and women who should be fired?
