Are Ye are gods

What is the new age lie from the Bible that many accept today? New age teachers say we are on an evolutionary path upward to self realize what we really are. To be a higher conscious being like Jesus or Buddha, to become God.

The idea that “ye are gods.” The Bible makes it clear there only one God, all other gods are fake, false, and are counterfeits.  When one uses this scripture for them-self, they endorse the original lie given in the garden that caused man to fall.

The same lie in the beginning to produce pride is being used in the end to lead many into a last days delusion.

Those who interpret the Bible like this are not led by the Spirit of truth but a spirit of error. They come to this conclusion because of their pride. To learn truth one must humble themselves, not exalt themselves.

The most basic teaching one can get wrong is that they do not see God as unique, the only one of his kind. And that man is a creature, created. God is the only being uncreated. When you begin with a wrong premise and you travel down that road you will always arrive at a wrong destination.

Kryon who is channeled will teach to connect you with your inner divinity.

Kryon If you could see the essence of what you call "your soul", you would realize that there are multiples within multiples of YOU, because God is not singular. That which you call God is not "one thing"… God is inside! You are God and part of the system” (live channelling was given in Boulder, Colorado. January 10, 2016)

The new age anthem is learning to discover the true self is God, Christ. This is the goal of their practices

“I am the divine Self. Immortal Eternal Radiant with spiritual light. I am that Self of light, that Self am I. The Self in me, is one with the Self in all. I am that Self in all; that Self am I. I am THAT, THAT am I”(Dirk Goertz in Transcendental Typology, The Essence of Primal New Age Theology (Destiny Image Publishers, Shippensburg, PA)

“The Light is me, I am the Nous (the mind or Manu), I am thy God, and I am far older than the human principle which escapes from the shadow ("Darkness," or the concealed Deity). I am the germ of thought, the resplendent Word, the Son of God.

All that thus sees and hears in thee is the Verbum of the Master, it is the Thought (Mahat) which is God, the Father.” (Vol. 1, Page 74 The Secret doctrine. H.P. Blavatsky)

I am part of God and the fullness of the Godhead dwells in me.” (Your True Worth by John Randolph Price)

It does not get anymore deceptive than this, not only do they claim to be god but use his holy name I AM for themselves. They don’t want the limitations of being human, they desire power. The authority God has they desire to be themselves. Theosophy instills pride into the human heart, denies the unique deity of Christ and instead claims the deity in every person

Jesus attributed this name of God to himself in Jn.8:24: “Unless you believe ‘I Am’ you will die in your sins,” meaning He was the same eternal God who spoke to Moses from the burning bush (Exod.3). Jesus also said, “Before Abraham was “I Am” (Jn. 8:58), which means he is the same I am from the Old Testament. He never implied that we are too.

Jesus did not become “I am,”  as the NEW AGE MOVEMENT  teaches. Biblically, “I am” means self-existing one,

We are told throughout  Scripture to have humility, and not to think too highly of ourselves. Does not claiming to be God do this?  If Satan can have us believe we are god like he did with Eve he can change a whole group of people (especially those in the church) not just 2 people that He first delivered this lie to. If he can convince Christians who are supposed to know, acknowledge and worship the one true God, into thinking that they are a God or little gods like him and have the same capabilities his lie becomes victorious. For if one thinks this way they automatically disconnect themselves from the one true God who is their source for understanding on spiritual things.

It doesn’t matter how famous or important a person is, if they claim to be god, whether it is THE God or another, they are part of an end times delusion that is now growing in unprecedented proportions.

To claim to be the uncreated, the all knowing all powerful God is shows that their concept of God has to be very different. He is diminished in knowledge, power and ability. Yhese become irreconciable differences to the bible.

It is by distorting what Jesus said in Jn.10 that ye are gods that they arrive at their conclusion

At the festival of Dedication (Lights) Jesus is at Solomon’s porch and is confronted by his people to tell them if he is the Christ. He responds by telling them “My sheep hear My voice.” “I give them eternal life,” “My Father, who has given them to Me,” and “I and My Father are one" V.31-33. Which is reminiscent to Deut.6:4 Our God is one.

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus responds asking “For which of those works do you stone Me?"  The Jews accuse Jesus of blasphemy “because You, being a Man, make Yourself God." Here we see they understood all his statements to mean he was claiming to be God, that is why they accused him of blasphemy. But from this they also are MAKING THE STATEMENT that man is not God.

Here is Jesus’ response, He answers them, “Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?”

Jesus was reciting Psalm 82:6.  He then goes from speaking in the plural to them to speaking of himself in the singular. Jesus repeats back their accusation of him.  'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? Jesus’ retort is pointing to the Old Testament, to argue His exclusive claim to deity as the Son of God, that he alone having a unique relationship to the Father that no other has. He does not say they are all sons of God. Jesus is stating to be the Son of God cannot be blasphemy, since he was sent to earth given the authority to do the Father's work. Jesus is making the point that it cannot be blasphemy if he claimed to be the unique Son of God, since his authority was not transmitted to him, but he was sent to earth on a personal mission. He is doing the works of the Father. He then states that the Father is in Him and He is in the Father, again claiming a unique relationship with the Father.

There was a rabbinic method for arguing. going from light to heavy. To start with the minor that we know, and conclude with the major point.  He goes from speaking of them in the plural to himself in the singular.

As with any difficult scripture we need to know the context before we go into the nuances of words.

Ye are gods. The word gods in Greek is theos, like the Hebrew elohim it is a generic term. Both the word elohim and theos are used for false gods as well as the true God. It can be used for God, men and angels, but it is never used for man or the angels to imply they are THE God.

These rulers were called gods because they represented God to the people (much like Moses did to Pharaoh). They are never called Yahweh Elohim, or I Am (as Jesus referred to Himself in John 8:58 alluding to Exodus 3:14-15); that name belongs to the one and only God, our Creator.

Of all the people to be called this, Jesus called the Pharisees Elohim, those who rejected his person and message.  The word "ELOHIM" is used over 2500 times in the Old Testament; and 5 places it refers to God (or false gods) and godly powers. Of the 5 places where it is translated as "judges", 4 are in the context of the Old Covenant (Exodus 21:6; 22:8 [2 times]; 22:9).

The Psalm Jesus is citing, is pointing out to these rulers neglect of the people they ruled over, they were unfair in their judgment. The Psalm tells them their end “But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." This part is always omitted.

That prince was likely a reference to Satan who rebelled against God and said he would be as God which caused his fall in heaven.  Jesus is telling them indirectly their end because of their denial of who he is. He is clearly not using it as a literal argument for men to be gods.v There are no other gods He claims he is not saying we are God with a capitol G.

Psalm 82 is not saying you too have the potential of becoming god, or are presently a god. For there is only one God who always existed.  How do we know this, God himself says so. So when it says they are (gods) are we to believe that Jesus did not teach there is one God, but many?

Deut 4:35-36 “the LORD Himself is God; there is none other besides Him.

1 Chron. 17:20 “O LORD, there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You

Isa. 46:9 For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me,

Where does God say he will make his creatures gods? He doesn’t. The Devil does. That’s how he fell –by pride saying for himself. Isa 14:14 I will be like the Most High .

That’s how he got Eve to fall, enticing her to eat the fruit of the tree thinking it will make her to be like her creator and have his authority

When he said to her, For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Gen. 3:5)

So if Satan told the truth how would she have sinned? You can't interpret one part of the Bible and use it against other parts that are clear in their explanation.

If we are gods than our hope is in ourselves.  How can one have confidence in us, when we are the ones that got ourselves in trouble in the first place.

The reality is that you are now, and will always be human. The other option to think of yourself as God or becoming God is make believe, a fantasy that will only bring you destruction.
