Did Enoch actually die or live Gen. 5:23-24 “all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” All his days were 365 years until he was taken. Enoch years were far less than all his contemporaries that lived hundreds of years longer. Throughout the first genealogical record (Genesis 5, before the flood) we read of each person, it mentions the time the person lived, who they begot and when they died by the term ‘and he died.’ It does not say this for Enoch, it is missing. Instead it says God took him, not ‘He died.’ We find 4,000 years later the New Testament writes on Enoch, “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him” (Heb. 11:5-6) That is God’s answer for him no longer among the people. The bible tells us plainly about Enoch being removed WITHOUT dying, There are only two places the saints went, paradise and heaven. That becomes another discussion. What is Ironic and may be God's sovereignty is that we read of Enoch prophesying Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, (Jude 14). Surely he will be among them when they come. |
