We all face an Eternity Have you planned for heaven? What if the rapture happened today? What of you died today by some unforeseen circumstance? Either way one must be ready to leave earth and enter their eternal life. It’s been said the moment we begin living we also start dying. Life is gift from our creator. It is what you do with your life that is your gift back to the one who gave it. We are all a breath away from entering eternity. What will you last thoughts be? Will they be regret or will they be joy? Maybe you will have time to think about them, some people do not. Will you anticipate an embrace or have rejection? Before I became a Christian I knew a number of friends and acquaintances that could not keep themselves out of trouble and got themselves killed. Others committed suicide because they were overwhelmed with life’s struggles. Some made their problems larger than they should have been and they thought they could not face another day. Some were talented musicians, some were just normal people struggling. I did not know the Lord then to give them hope, though a few people heard of Jesus at that time. So many are in this place, you may be the last opportunity for them to hear a message of hope before they move out from this world. Are you willing to speak when the opportunity presents itself? 2 Cor 3:12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech-- We speak to those “ without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.(Eph. 2:12) It’s hard for those without Christ to cope with the world we live in, they need to hear from us. And sometimes it can be at the very end. One thief got saved while the other still blasphemed rejecting Jesus who was next to him at the time of his death. The thief that believed entered paradise with no rewards, just salvation. Consider how many people still read of this thief’s conversion over the 1900 years the bible was produced. There is hope until the last breath (not afterwards). How many people has he reached, and still reaching? In your last breath will you blaspheme God or will you call upon him. He gave you life, and you are no different than anyone else. We all have that appointed day, (Heb.9:27) for some it is soon, others it’s further away. For the believer “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Heb. 10:23) For others, they need to hear of this hope. who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your (their) faith and hope are in God.(1 Pet 1:21) |
