Who is blamed for bringing sin into the world? There are three involved in this matter. First is the one called Day star (the devil), both he and one third of the angels who rebelled were the only ones that were sinful. The Devil who was already fallen tempted Eve in the garden. After Eve listened to the devil and obeyed his offer to eat from the trees forbidden fruit that would give her wisdom, she gave the fruit to her husband and he also participated in the disobedience of the command not to eat of the tree. So was it Eve or Adam that is to be blamed? God said to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it' (Gen. 3:17). God looked to Adam because he gave the command directly to him and Eve was taken from Adam. The first mention of the word sin is in Gen. 4:7. Cains offering is not accepted and he is told by the Lord "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." We see this image of sin first mentioned in Gen. 5:3 Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.” The meaning of “after the image of man” is that the lineage of Adam is permanently in a fallen state that will affect all born. Sin - Hebrew chatta'ah an offence (sometimes habitual sinfulness), and its penalty, occasion, sacrifice, or expiation; also (concretely) an offender: (Strong’s concordance) 1 Tim. 2:13-14 “Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.” Eve sinned by listening to this foreign intruder and was deceived in disobeying, but Adam listened to his wife and willingly disobeyed. God puts the continuance of sin on Adam. Rom. 5:12 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” V.17 “For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one” V. 19 “For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners.” When the fall occurred the holiness that was to be passed on was annulled, the image of God was marred. Thus the transmission of life passed down from each generation now gives each person a sinful nature. Rom 5:14 “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, (1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die). This is why the sin nature is present at birth in every person throughout history (except one, Jesus born of a virgin (without a mans seed, who was conceived by the supernatural act of God by the Holy Spirit). Adam and Eve after their sin HID from God, Genesis 3:8. this is now inbred in all man, who is born separate from their maker. Isaiah 53:6 “All like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way.” Man naturally strays, wanders from God. Romans 3:11 "There are none, no not one, that seeks after God." The Word of God says we go in every direction but toward God. John 3:19 (Jesus said) "This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world (Jesus is the light of the world), but men loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil." The darkness represents a condition which possesses no light. Man desires to be autonomous, free from any thought of God and be responsible. The light is the truth that comes into the world. Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?" Man has a bad heart. If we can't know our own hearts, how can we expect to know the true and living God. We are all born sinful and are called sons of disobedience. Eph 2:2; Eph 5:6; Col 3:6 the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. John 3:3 Jesus spoke "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Only those from the second birth (a spiritual one) will escape the judgment, this solution is offered to all. Job 14:4-5 “Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one! Since his days are determined, the number of his months is with You; you have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.” Solomon who was the wisest man of his time said in Eccl. 9:3 “Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live.” From the new spiritual birth1 Peter 1:23 explains ‘having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.” God’s word brings a new life as the Holy Spirit works to give light, truth. I Jn. 2:29 “everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” Instead of practicing deceit, lies sin, we now gravitate toward doing what is pleasing to God, as we are being shaped into the image of his son.
