The electronic God

The anointing of the new revivalism from Browne to Toronto to Brownsville to Lakeland to Bethel

What we will see that every one of the people mentioned who operate in this anointing have major false teachings, even some that deny Jesus is God in the flesh with their various explanations.

Rodney Browne who introduced the uncontrollable laughter to the church in 1993-94 describes the anointing as being electricity: “Not only is it tangible but transferable. …The anointing of God as wonderful as it is, is electricity.”

In 1991 at a Benny Hinn Crusade we see Rodney Browne on stage and being called forward by Benny Hinn. "Rodney, God has given you a great anointing for this. Let the holy laughter hit them in Jesus' mighty name... (excitedly Hinn says) it's coming [zaps him].... Hinn laid hands on his forehead (transferring the anointing just like gurus and their Shakti pat) and Browne goes down. Hinn then inaugurates him into ministry by saying “pick him up. Now release it on the people, Rodney!” “go ahead Rodney.”

Release what, not the Holy Spirit, but another spirit. Does anyone consider that they are controlling God. This is no different than touching someone and saying they are now born again.

Reinhard Bonnke says “The Holy Spirit is the electricity in the wire.” This would be a good spiritual analogy except that what Third Wavers like Bonnke claim is that they are feeling electricity in their hands and when they lay hands on people it is released, they are imparting the Holy Spirit. Which is not biblical. Jesus is the anointer, the baptizer not man.

Early in his life Hinn recalls, “After I spoke to the Holy Spirit, nothing seemed to happen......Then, like a jolt of electricity my body began to vibrate all over....I felt as if I had been translated to heaven....(Benny Hinn, Good Morning Holy Ghost, p.12-13)

Benny Hinn says “we have not known the fullness of fire. The anointing as fire is coming to your life." Hinn tells us that this new “fire" anointing will burn away bondage and sin.” Exactly what William Branham taught.

Hinn who endorses this fire experience also expressed concern when this fire hits him it’s not so pleasant. “I'm on fire my body is burning up.” (This is your Day Oct. 25, 1999) Hinn describes it: “my God there's fire here. ahhh arrggh “My skin is about to explode your body will tinkle from the top to the bottom lift your voices lift your hands and ask him for it.” (TBN with Paul and Jan Crouch Sept. 13, 1999 Denver crusade)

Clearly this is not good but he convinces his audience to ask for it.

Oral Roberts: “I feel the anointing I feel the presence of God its beyond my comp… it comes down my arm into this and my hand is like I have touched a live wire feel nothing in this hand.” Oral says, if he touched Larry with his left hand he’d feel nothing but if he used his right hand when the spirit is moving on me and you’d feel it go through you, and there’s no explanation for it, its just simply God chose to do it and somehow he selected me.” (Jan. 31, 2002 Larry King Live)

He said that when he began his healing ministry, “the power of God flowed like a current of electricity through him, at times feeling as if "liquid fire" were surging through his arm. (Oral Roberts, Harrell, All Things Are Possible, pp. 49, 50)

“I experienced the power of the Spirit in a way I hadn't experienced for years, like massive electricity going through my body... One of the guys was prophesying. He was just lying there prophesying. . ." (Nicky Gumbal, HTB in Focus: Alpha News, Aug 1995 p.9. See also Wallace Boulton, ed., The Impact Of Toronto, 1995 pp.20-24.)

Every one of the false teachers describe the anointing this way, in an unbiblical way

When the fire, or the anointing, leaves my hands and goes into his body, I will know he is healed.” (Hagin, Kenneth, I Believe In Visions, p. 51.)

Branham described his condition, “When the anointing strikes me, I don't know why--what I'm saying.” (56-1207, Gifts, Maranatha Temple, Brooklyn, NY)

Benny said the same, and went further to say people are afraid of him

Cindy Jacobs screams for the anointing of revival. We speak of fire,… Let the fire come. Oh, yeah, yeah. More fire. Let the fire burn. Let the fire fall. Come on. Hallelujah. Let the fire fall. Ohh, let the fire fall.”

This fire was part of the latter rain teachings before Branham picked up on it.

Under this anointing Todd Bentley shakes his head back and forth violently, his body physically shakes. His own manifestations of the Spirit to heal are violent. His signature statement is bam, bam, even in baptism. He waves his arms over the audience, shouting, “Fire! Fire! Fire.” All of this is nearly identical to the Vineyard, to Toronto and Pensacola showing us that it is a continuation of the Latter Rain “false revivals.”

Assoc. pastor Kris Vollaton says, I was in a prayer chapel and laying on the floor and I said, “God would you give me the mantle of William Branham?”  And, He said, “Well, how could I do that? If I did that it would destroy you.”  … then he says “Well, you could put the same mantle on a whole generation then we wouldn’t stand out from one another. He said, “Alright, I’ll do that.”

They call this corporate anointing. Asking God if you could put the same mantle of Branham, that was an unholy angels power to be on a whole generation and God says yes! … that to me is a flashing red light. This angelic anointing deceived Branham and it is still doing the same today

Bill Johnson of Bethel church in Redding admires Branham so much he wants the anointing of William Branham, “If I mention the name, William Branham, in certain circles, I mean, they almost want to, you know, stone me, because William Branham is known for the heresy towards the end of his life. And yet there are few men that have ever lived, and perhaps no one that has ever lived that carried the anointing and the power that this particular man had.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbTCDk2CGNo

In 1995 Bill Johnsons says he began to cry out to God day and night for about eight months. My prayer was, 'God, I want more of You at any cost! I will pay any price!'

From what I see in scripture God wants more of us, then we have more of him.

Johnson says, in the middle of the night, God came in answer to my prayer for more of Him, he went from a dead sleep to being wide-awake in a moment. Unexplainable power began to pulsate through my body, seemingly just shy of electrocution. It was a though I had been plugged into a wall socket with a thousand volts of electricity flowing through my body. My arms and legs shot out in silent explosions as if something was released through my hands and feet.

“This was simply the most overwhelming experience of my life. It was raw power. . . IT was God

He has No comparable reference to the Scripture. The same description is given of Hinduism’s Kundalini power. Johnson unequivocally states this power, “was God, how? By his experience.

Nearly the same experiential story comes from Rodney Browne who said this years before.

“I cried out to God in sheer desperation. I wanted Him to manifest Himself to me and in me. I was hungry,

"As I prayed that day, I told the Lord, 'Either you come down here and touch me, or I am going to come up there and touch you.' I was desperate.

"Suddenly the fire of God fell on me. It started on my head and went right down to my feet. His power burned in my body and stayed like that for three whole days.

….I was plugged into heaven's electric light….

"My whole body was on fire from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Out of my belly began to flow a river of living water. I began to laugh uncontrollably and then I began to weep and then speak with other tongues."

You can find similar electric experiences in other religions In his book heaven invades earth Johnson describes well-known charismatic events of Toronto and Pensacola as “watering holes” (p.81). These locales are places where the Spirit is being poured out for those who are in pursuit of the supernatural. Which sounds eerily similar to the energy portals promoted in the new age.

Barbara Marx Hubbard, writes that the chosen elite will know they have received Initiation when they "instantly feel a subtle change of electricity in their bodies," and when "I [an unidentified entity, presumably the Initiator, Lucifer] will be enabled to contact all of you at once." (The Revelation_, p.235-6)  This new mankind, by then directly linked with the being who David Spangler calls "the angel of man's evolution" (Reflections on the Christ, p.37)

The Initiation , taught by Alice A. Bailey who wrote "A Treatise on Cosmic Fire"; The Internal Fire, or Fire by Friction; II. The Fire of Spirit, or Electric Fire; The Fire of Mind, or Solar Fire."

It is Kundalini that produces an electrical experience that has Muscle twitches, spasms. Energy rushes through ones body as if electricity is circulating which produces itching, vibrating, tingling, stinging or crawling sensations. Intense heat or cold occurs. Lights and electric sensations are symptoms of Kundalini taking place at various degrees.

Involuntary bodily movements (occur more often during meditation, rest or sleep): jerking, tremors, shaking; feeling an inner force pushing one into unusual postures. Or they can be immobilized, heightened awareness can take place; spontaneous trance states with mystical experiences. Yogis tell us some participants may experience a shift that they think they have supernatural abilities.

The new age is all about energies, yoga is designed to activate and balance your energy. Because they believe God is pure energy, raw energy within you and without.

William Branham’s manager Frank Bosworth described “A strange sign about Branham, he had vibrations in his left hand. When the afflicting spirit would come in contact with the gift, it set up such a physical commotion that it became visible… and so real it would stop his wrist watch instantly… like taking a live wire with too much current in it.” (F. F. Bosworth, Voice Of Healing, March 1950, p. 10)

This took place only with Branham. This tells us something else operating, a strong electromagnetic field can make a watch stop.

What do you think deception looks like, it may only be a few degrees off, it’s rarely obvious, one MUST have discernment, but it is non - existent in Bethel church and among these other men’s ministries. One can be deceived by doctrine but more often it is by power, an experience, and by feelings.

Bill Johnson sees the anointing as an experience “The word Christ means ‘Anointed One’ or ‘Messiah.’  It is a title that points to an experience… …He had to receive the anointing in an experience to accomplish what the Father desired.”   (When Heaven Invades Earth, p. 79). In fact, Johnson’s Jesus is a man who became “Christed” at thirty years old by which He did His miracles, which is exactly what William Branham taught; this is Branhamism.

Johnson conglomerated nearly every trend, or wave of the spirit from the revivals of the last 25 years. From Branham’s mystical supernaturalism to John Wimbers openness, to Bob Jones visits to heaven, to Toronto’s shake, sputter and fall. His whole Christianity is an appeal to all who seek supernatural experiences. And so this impartation of another spirit continues to burn as fire through the church until it has consumed the youth.
