                                  JESUS IN THE TALMUD                                                       (Excerpts)

Joseph Karo, who's associated with something known as the "Shulhan Arukh". The basic Halakah or codification of Jewish law. " A women in birth is considered like a sick person whose life is in danger, for whom the Sabbath may be violated for any of her needs, in giving birth to a child, such as lighting a candle. But one must not assist a non-Jewish women in birth on the Sabbath." (Shuk Ha Arukh, Orhoth Hayyim: Law Of The Sabbath,330:1,2).

Chefetz Hayim also known as Israel Meir HarCohen, 1838-1933. founder of the Agudah Israel and the twentieth century halachic authority (Halakah is Jewish law, Rabbinic law) elaborates on the preceding item, in his commentary "Mishnah Berurah" that means the clarification of the Mishnah. "One must not assist a gentile woman in birth, not even for payment. For in the weekdays, one assist them in birth only in order to avoid hostility." And the Magan Abraham [the shield of Abraham], which is a commentary on the Shuk Ha Arukh, has written "that even where there is concern for hostility, one is only permitted to do activities that do not entail a violation of the Sabbath." And I want you to know, that even the more acceptable, literally the more Kosher, Jewish doctors do not observe this at all. For every Sabbath they travel many miles to heal gentiles and they write a prescription personally or prepare medication. But they have no halakah, Jewish law, upon which to base such actions as treating or writing a prescription for a sick gentile. "For even if one is permitted to violate a Rabbinic prohibition in order to prevent gentile hostility, one is certainly not permitted to violate a Rabbinic prohibition, and they are considered intentional violators of the Sabbath. God spare them."

In a parallel column, entitled the Orhoth Halakah, the author of the"Mishnah Bora" adds, the same law applies to Moslems, literally it's Ishmaelites, and to even Karites. [ Karites are Jews who do not accept halakah]. "Everyone agrees that one may not violate even a Rabbinic prohibition of the Sabbath in order to save their life." This is a bigoted, racist, religion from the pit of hell! It not only denies their Messiah, it curses Him. It prays that those who accept Him as the Messiah, their names are to be blotted out of the Book Of Life. God calls it an antichrist religion. Jesus called Rabbinic Judaism "a synagogue of Satan." Their own literature shows that it is just as bigoted, just as racist, just as vile, as Luther, or the Roman Catholic Church, or anything that Christianity has done against them. They're no better.

The people who publish this stuff don't know what they're talking about. They don't know what Judaism is. They do not know what that religion is.

Now we have to make a difference between the religion and the people in it. I love Roman Catholics, but because I love Roman Catholics, I hate the Roman Catholic Church. I love Moslems, but because I love Moslems, I hate Islam. I love Jews, but because I love Jews, I hate Judaism. It is not the Judaism of Moses. And, as we'll see, they know it's not the Judaism of Moses.

What I'm going to begin looking at now, and we couldn't look at it all even in one day or even in one weekend, it's just an overview.

What did the Rabbis say about Jesus? If you witness to Jewish people in Whitefield, or in Preswich, or in Vitzbury, or in Chilledwald, in Liverpool, what they've been told to say, and what their Rabbis have taught them is this: They've been taught that "these are gentiles taking our scriptures, which they call the Old Testament [that is what gentiles call it], and twist it to make it seem that it's talking about Jesus. But, when you read the original Jewish context, of the Old Testament, you see it's not talking about Jesus. They've got it all wrong." And they can give you some pretty convincing arguments.

Now, what I'm going to give you today is ammunition. But this ammunition can only serve one purpose. The only thing you can do with this ammunition is undermine that argument. You can show them only this; That you're wrong. It's not a gentile or Christian fabrication, or distortion of the Jewish scriptures. These are not totally alien ideas from Jewish thought, that no Rabbi ever would've believed. The Rabbis confirm the Christian interpretation of these scriptures. Because they can always show you some other halakah, or some other midrash, or some other Talmud, or some other Rabbinic commentary, saying "it doesn't have to mean that." It's known as "pilpul". Pilpul was the way that Rabbis devised to argue the halakah. Halakah comes from the Hebrew word "yalak," meaning to walk, how you live your life.

It says at the end of the Sermon on the Mount, "The people were astounded for He taught as one with authority, not as the Scribes and Pharisees." it says that at the end of the Sermon on the mount, in Matthew. What they meant was Jesus would not engage in pilpul. He said, "This is what God says." He wouldn't engage in this legalistic, nitpicking and looking for loopholes. He wouldn't' engage in it. He said it was an endless road to nowhere. He referred to this kind of teaching as "leaven, The leaven of the Pharisees, beware of it." There was only one case where Jesus engaged in pilpul. Now He used the Midrash. He used the Jewish way of interpreting scriptures, but in moral legislation and things like that, He would not engage in pilpul. Either would Paul, except in one case, when He would get the Sadducees and Pharisees fighting with each other. They didn't believe in the resurrection. Jesus knew that the Pharisees believed, and the Sadducees didn't. So, He would say, "I am Elohay Avraham, Isaac, Ya'akov. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Is the God of the living or the dead?" He was using pilpul to make the Sadducees and Pharisees to fight with each other.

That's the only time He would engage in it, to turn them against each other. He was almost poking fun at them; to show them how ridiculous it all was. They can always find some other Rabbinic commentary and say that it doesn't necessarily have to mean that. The only thing that you'll be able to do is to show they can't sweep our views out the window.

The New Testament was written by Jews, Jesus was a Jew, the Apostles were Jews, the first Christians were Jews, and the Bible says the last Christians will be Jews. The only reason the non-Jews believe in Jesus, and believe the Gospel, and believe the New Testament, is because Jews wrote the New Testament and taught them that He was the Messiah. They can't deny this historical fact, although they'll try to, and say this is just a gentile fabrication.

Nonetheless, there is a place in the Rabbinic writings called Yoma. (Yoma 39:B) Our Rabbi's taught that the last 40 years before the destruction of the Temple, the following happened; On Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, they would hang a scarlet cord, which they would somehow, I suppose, associate with Isaiah 1:18, they would hang a scarlet cord before the Holy of Holies when the high priest went in, on the Day of Atonement to make the sacrifice. Now the prophet Daniel chapter 9, as we'll see, said the Messiah had to come and die before the second temple would be destroyed. Jesus and the Olivet discourse (Luke 21, Matthew 24 etc.), was simply echoing what Daniel had said; the Messiah would come and die before the second temple would be destroyed. And the Rabbis taught during the last forty years before the destruction of the temple, which happened circa 70 AD, the scarlet thread did not become white, nor did the western lamp in the temple shine. And the doors of the Holy of Holies would fling themselves open of their own accord. For the forty years before the destruction the of temple, the scarlet thread never turned white but remained red. What they believed was, that if the people's sins were forgiven, the scarlet cord would turn white. If the people's sins were not forgiven on the Day of Atonement, it would not turn white, but remain scarlet.

For forty years, 70 AD take away forty, circa 30 AD CE. In other words, from the time of Jesus to the destruction of the temple, according to Judaism, the people's sins were never forgiven. They are trying to justify themselves by works, but Isaiah 64:6 says our righteous deeds are as filthy rags. And the Hebrew of what that means is even something almost vulgar, it's worse than filthy rags, it has to do with a tampon. It uses very coarse language to describe human righteousness and human religion. During the last forty years before the destruction of the temple, the lot for the Lord, remember they would cast the lot, did not come up in the right hand. Nor did the crimson colored strap become white, nor did the western most light shine and the doors of the Heykal, the Temple, would open by themselves, until Rabbi Johanan b. Zakkai rebuked them saying, "Heykal, Heykal, why wilt thou be the alarmer thyself. I know about thee, that thou wilt be destroyed for Zachariah Benedo has already prophesied concerning me. Open thy doors O Lebanon that the fire may devour the cedars." In other words, he's saying, "Why do you predict your own destruction?"

In the Menahoth (Tractate), it says, "By the morning, the oil in the lamps had burned out the priest had come in and cleaned out the lamps removing the wicks, putting in new wicks and pouring oil into them ready for the kindling in the evening. (And we'll study this, Lord willing, in July) The western lamp however, although it had no more oil in it than the other lamps, miraculously continued to burn the entire day long. So that when the lamps were to be kindled in the evening, they were kindled for this one. The western lamp itself was then extinguished and cleaned out and a fresh wick poured in. Oil poured in and then re-lit, thus, the lamp provided the fire for lighting the other lamps, and yet was the last to be cleaned out. This miracle has testified to the divine presence in Israel."

According to these entries, for the forty years before the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, the western lamp, which is the lamp that lit the other lamps, in other words; Jesus the light of the world, the true light, which is an indication that the Shekinah cloud had left, and the doors of the Holy of Holies would fling themselves open. Furthermore, the scarlet thread tied to the door of the temple, never became white, indicating that the sins of Israel were not forgiven. This took place in the time of the crucifixion of Jesus in the time of the destruction of the temple. Yoma 39B

We've got to understand what happened in the Jewish religion. "I'm going to tell you a tale of two Rabbis. Once upon a time, the was a very, very famous Rabbi and his name was Rabbi Hillel, there were two kind of Pharisees, the first was the school of Hillel, this Rabbi, and another, the school of Shammai. They had certain differences in their emphasis, but they were the two main kinds of Pharisees, academies where rabbis were educated. Now this school of Hillel had a number of very famous graduates, famous Rabbis who were educated in the school of Hillel. Hillel was the grandfather of another very famous Rabbi who was his successor called Rabbi Gamaliel, Now Rabbi Gamaliel, is mentioned in the Talmud, were it says, that when he died, righteousness perished from the earth with him. Now the New Testament tells us that this Rabbi Gamaliel said in Acts chapter 5, that if Jesus is not the Messiah, Christianity will disappear, but if it doesn't disappear, the Jews who oppose it would be working against God. This was the Rabbi who, when he died, righteousness perished from the earth.

Now Rabbi Gamaliel was from the school of Hillel, the grandson of Rabbi Hillel, who was associated with something called the Middoth of Hillel, which Saint Paul used in his teaching methods, had a number of famous students. One of which was Onkelos who did a vary famous translation of the bible called the Targum into Aramaic. But he had two other very famous students, and the entire future of the Jewish religion would follow one of these two students. A big schism happens in the Jewish religion, and every Jew would follow one of these two students.

The first of these students was Rabbi Johanan b.Zakkai who I just quoted. When the temple was destroyed, Rabbi Johanan b.Zakkai said we have a big problem, we can't practice the Jewish faith that Moses gave anymore. To this day, on the roof of every Orthodox Synagogue you will find the Hebrew term, "Ichabod, Ichabod." The glory has departed, the Shekinah is gone. They know very well, that without a temple, they can't practice the faith of their fathers. On the Passover( the Pesach), the Seder, instead of taking the Passover Seder with lamb, because they have no priesthood and no temple, they eat chicken. The religion testifies to it. So what do you do? He has a council at a place called Yavneh near Tel-Aviv and the Rabbis decide the following; that instead of the Levites and the Cohens, the priests, the Rabbi will be the leaders; they will be the new spiritual authorities. And, instead of the temple being the center, we'll make these synagogues the center. The synagogues began developing after the Babylonian captivity. And another religion begins to evolve, based on tradition. That was the beginning, and it begins to evolve from there.

That was Rabbi Johanan b.Zakkai, student of Gamaliel, grandson of Hillel, the Pharisaic school of Hillel. But, then this other Rabbi, who was a classmate of Rabbi Johanan b.Zakkai, his name was Rabbi Sha'ul of Tarsus, better known to some people as Saint Paul the apostle, likewise a disciple of Gamaliel, who said that if Jesus is not the Messiah, Christianity would disappear, and if it doesn't disappear, the Jews who oppose Him and it are working against God. He said, "the Law is fulfilled by the Messiah." Jesus paid the price for our sins, the curse of the law, and the consequences for breaking it, are put on Him.

Every Jew is under one law or another. Think of an unsaved Jewish person as a kind of backslider. He's in a covenant relationship with God, he may not keep the covenant, he may be an atheist, but he's still under the curse of the law. If you want to know what happened to Israel and the Jews, read Lev. 26; read Deut. 28. Their entire history is foretold. They're under a national curse because they reject Jesus, they're under the curse of the Law. By the time the temple was destroyed, the prediction of Daniel was fulfilled, the Messiah would come and die before it would be destroyed and every Jew had one of two choices; either he accepted Jesus as the Messiah, or he began the practice of Judaism, which was not scriptural. The entire future of the Jewish faith to this day is based on these two classmates. Rabbi Johanan b.Zakkai and Rabbi Sha'ul of Tarsus. At the end of his life, the Talmud tells us, Rabbi Johanan b.Zakkai was crying and weeping. And his disciples, Talmidim, they came to him and said "Oh, mighty hammer", they called him Patisha Gadol, "Oh mighty hammer, great hammer, why are you weeping?" "Why are you crying, why is your soul in distress, oh mighty hammer, Ben Zakkai?"And Rabbi Ben Zakkai said" I'm about to meet Ha Shem, God , Blessed be his name, and before me there are two roads, one leading to Paradise and one leading to Gehenna; one leading to Heaven and one leading to Hell, and I do not know to what road Ha Shem will sentence me". The founder of Rabbinic Judaism, admitted he had absolutely no assurance of salvation. He said what he did, he didn't know if God was goingto send him to hell for doing it. He was terrified to die at the end of his life. That was Rabbi Johanan b.Zakkai, and so are all those Jews who follow him.

But then there's Rabbi Sha'ul of Tarsus, and at the end of his life he said trouble me no further, for on my body I bare the marks of Christ. And I know there is made up for me a crown of glory and of righteousness. He had an assurance of salvation, and so does every Jew who follows him.

As early as the Talmudic era, the Sages knew the messiah should have come already, they cried all the predestined dates for the redemption have passed and the matter now depends only on repentance and good deeds" Sanhedrin 97B.

Major prophecies well passed their date of fulfillment. Jesus was the only person who claimed to be the Messiah and who could actually, in his time, prove Davidic decent. This is not only recorded in the New Testament but in Sanhedrin 43:1, it's recorded in the Talmud , with Yeshu, Jesus, it was different, He was connected with the government. An ambiguous phrase which has misled some people to believe that he was actually influenced or actually refers to royal lineage. God spent a thousand years promising Abraham and David the Messiah would descend from them. When He allowed all the genealogies to be destroyed in the second temple it was obvious, the Messiah should have come. For we read "and the Sanhedrin wept, Oy vo voy l'anu" "Woe to us, for the temple has been destroyed and the Messiah has not come." We'll come back to this one.

Gen 49:10 - The scepter shall not depart from Judah nor the ruler's staff from between his feet until Shiloh comes and to Him shall be the obedient of the people. Shiloh was one of the places the Arc of the Covenant dwelt, but it became an appellative for the Messiah in Judaism. Every tribe of Israel had its own scepter; a tribal staff with its name inscribed on it. This represents its judicial power, but the removal of the scepter occurred when Herod the Great, a non-Jew, became King and the Sanhedrin had its power limited, and these things both happened in the lifetime of Jesus. The name Shiloh is the name of the Messiah according to the Talmud [Sanhedrin 98B]. So, according to this prophecy, the Messiah had to come before the scepter was removed from Judah. Therefore, either the Messiah has already been and gone, or God lied. God can't lie, so whoever the Messiah was, according to the Talmud, he had to come. And again, the Talmud mentions how forty years before the destruction of the temple the Sanhedrin were moved from the hall of the moon stones to a place outside. And you read this in 41A and of the Avodah Zarah 8B, and they said "there's weeping, where is the Messiah? The temple is destroyed." Whoever He was, he had to come before the scepter departed from Judah and before the temple would be destroyed.

Now things go on. After five centuries of accumulated oral teaching were passed down, Rabbi Yehudah Ha Nasi, it means Judah the President, and his disciples wrote down selected material from the oral Law, calling it Mishnah, and this was not done until 230 AD. The Talmud was not even written down at all, the first bits of it was not written until 230 AD. Now what the Rabbis teach is this, that the Talmud, what they call the Torah Be'al Peh, was given to Moses on Mount Sinai. Only he didn't write it down, it was the Torah Be'al Peh. However, in Joshua 8:35, among other places, we read there was not a word of all of the Lord had commanded Moshe Rabbenu, Moses, which Joshua did not read before the people of Israel. And it says in the Torah that he wrote it all down. Yet they say no, it was Torah Be'al Peh, it was given orally just not written down till later.

They go so far as to say, that one Rabbi is greater than one prophet. Th opinion of 1,001 Rabbis is more important than the opinion of 1,000 prophets, because the prophets only were secretaries, messengers. The Rabbis had to interpret what it meant. However, each generation continued to raise new questions. So there were experts, One of the leaders was Rabbi Yochanan of the same college of Tiberius, and he compiled these new Rabbinic decisions about 330AD. When this was done he called it the Gemara, from the Hebrew word gimor, meaning to finish or completion. The Mishnah and the Gemara were put together and called the Jerusalem Talmud. That was the first Talmud. The Gemara and the Mishnah together. But through the centuries there's been much tampering with the Talmud, and there are all kind of critical arguments as to what the originals actually said in some cases. None the less, things go on and on, and during the Holy Roman Dark Ages, from about 900 to 1500, other things begin to develop. Few Jews could understand the Hebrew or Aramaic Text, so commentaries and codifications were written on the Talmud. These codifications were condensed into systematic Codes of Law, and from here we have things called The Turim, The Rif (initials of Rabbi Isaac Alfasi) The Shuk HaArukh, The Kitzur Shulhan Arukh, The Mishneh Torah, etc.

Rambam was the main Rabbi at this time. Before Rambam there was someone call Rashi in France. It got further and further from the Word of God and began developing along the same lines as Roman Catholicism. Around 1000AD, you had a re-birth of Aristotilianism, in the Moslem world. Thomas Aquinas totally redefined Roman Catholicism in Aristotilium terms, when he wrote something called Suma Theologia, and he said the same thing, i.e., the opinion of the church is more important than the opinion of the bible. Reacting against Aquinas, who was a terrible heretic, were the later people like in the Reformation and the Humanist. But what Aquinas did for Roman Catholicism, Rambam did the same thing for Judaism. He wrote something called "A Guide for the Perplexed" and then something called Mishneh Torah. Where he Aristotilianized Judaism. Totally Hellenistic ideas, far removed from anything the original Jews believed.

Then the Kabbalah begins to arrive. Kabbalah is mystical Judaism, it's the chief work of Zohar. It begins in Poland. Some other Talmudic writers were Rabbi Schlomo E'tsake; Rabbi Saayah Gaon, the Genius; Ranban [not Rambam], Rabbi Moshe ben Nachman, also known as Nachmanides; Kimchi, Rabbi David Kimchi; Eben Ezra, Avraham; Rabbi Levi ben Gershon, etc. And now to these, they added other sacred books; the Peshitta, The Pirke, the Rabbatai, Eliezer, and The Alkhut, both Haggadic 13th Century writings. And then there was the Yohar on Moses, which is held by Hasidic Jews today because it uses Gnosticism and spiritualization.

In any event, what does God say about all this? "Because this people draws near to me with their words. and honor me with lip service, but they remove their hearts far from me and their reverence for me consist of tradition, mahsorot, tradition, learned by rote, Isaiah 29:13. All the prophecies of the Messiah and all the prophets, prophesied only for the Messiah. The entire Old Testament is about the Messiah according to the Talmud, Sanhedrin 99 AD - The world was not created, but only for the Messiah. John 1; The world was created for Jesus, through Him, by Him.

Sanhedrin 98B - Rabbi Yoseph said, The Messiah would come when this gate, Rome, shall fall and be built again, and the land of Israel will be over run by enemies. Sanhedrin 96-99. The stone cut without hands in Daniel 2: 44-45 is the Messiah, according to the Pirke Elieazer, Chapter 11.

There was a famous Rabbi called Rabbi Leopold Cohen. He was greatly troubled by Daniel 9, which said the Messiah had to come and die before the second temple was destroyed, and he wanted to find out what this meant. The world would last 6000 years, he read in the Talmud, for 1000 years in nice sight or like yesterday when it passes by. They link this with Psalm 90:4 according to Rabbi Katina. The world would be 2000 years in a state of chaos, 2000 years under the Law of Moses and 2000 years being the Messianic age, when the Shabbat, the Millennia, would be 1000 years of peace. Then there come the war of Gog and Magog and the Messiah will renew the world after 7000 years. Exactly what the book of Revelation teaches. According to Sanhedrin 96B & 99A,also Yalkut Vol.2 page 129 D.

The Messiah will arrive to destroy the nations and to rule the earth for 1000 years of peace when people are conducting themselves in the following manner; Those who fear sin will be aboard truth should fail, children will rebel against their parents, general lawlessness, Saduceeism, should universally prevail, the Sadducees deny the Resurrection... the ancient Rabbis, ....said the Saduceeism should prevail universally. The study of God's law would decrease, there would be generally universal poverty, and despair of redemption would prevail. Apostasy would increase, and it would be a growing disregard for scriptures. Sanhedrin 96B & 99A or, if you wish, read Timothy's Epistle on last days, treacherous times would come and would be all these things. Now Rabbi Cohen had a big problem, he went to the Talmud and he saw this. He realized the Messiah had to come around 33 or 32 AD. There were two things that said in the Talmud. One was that from the Sanhedrin and the Alkhut, the other was that there's a curse for anybody that reads it. There's a curse on anybody who reads Daniel 9. , And he said why ?

And he looked into the Talmud and asked his instructors, it said because the time of the Messiah's coming is foretold in Daniel 9. So Rabbi Leopold Cohen, became a Baptist minister. He couldn't believe when in Sanhedrin 97B it said, may the calculators of the final redemption come to a grief. He couldn't believe God would put something in His Word not wanting people to know what it meant. I can go into this even deeper and further, but I just mention it as passing through it.

In the Talmud, it is known that the word Generations, "dor" in Hebrew, was spelled correctly before Adam fell in Genesis 2:4. But afterwards, the Hebrew character vav, the Hebrew letter vav is missing because it is also a 6, it's the Hebrew like, Roman numerals or Greek, the Hebrew letters are also numbers. Its a 6 in Hebrew and Adam lost 6 things. It is then replaced again in Ruth 4:18 because she is the Grandmother of King David who's son will be the Messiah to restore the 6 things Adam lost. [Bereshith Rabah 12, page 24b of the Warsaw Edition.] The Rabbis, to this day, read the book of Ruth at Pentecost, the birthday of the church. When the Jewish man takes the Gentile bride and the lineage of David begins to which the Messiah would come. You see how they knew ! They knew ! That the Messiah would destroy somehow through this gentile woman what Adam lost.

Now they'll go to all kinds of problems and tell you Zechariah 12:10-12, "They will look upon me whom they have pierced", that doesn't necessary mean they look upon the Messiah whom they have pierced. But in Sukkah 52A it says directly, "They will look upon me, the Messiah, who they have pierced". Zech.12:10-12 ~ the Talmud confirms the Messiah is the one who got pierced. The Messiah will arrive with the clouds of Heaven according to Daniel 7:13 But humble and mounted on a Donkey according to Zechariah 9:9. One Talmudist proposes that if Israel deserves it, He will come in the clouds of Heaven and if not deserving He will come poor riding on an ass. Sanhedrin 96B-99A. To this day, that's how the Rabbis will get around it. The Messiah did come in the days of Jesus but we weren't worthy. So, therefore, He didn't reveal himself. The becomes the big catch-all, you see what I mean, they can encompass anything and explain anything away.

"Moshe Rabeinu says that people that predict things that don't happened, if they predict things in the name of Ha Shem, and they don't happen, they're false prophets, (nevi sheker) we have to take them out and stone them. Atah Shomir Torah? Do you keep the Torah?

I love the Talmud. You have 2 Jews, you have 3 opinions. Forget 3 opinions, if you have 2 Jews you have 33 opinions. Israel would have no more Messiah because He had come in the days of King Hezekiah, according to Rabbi Hillel, not the original Hillel, another Hillel, Sandhedrin 96B-99A. His grandson Rabbi Yoseph said, "May God forgive my grandfather Rabbi Hillel", Sanhedrin 96B-99A

But some Talmudists thought the Messiah would come on two separate occasions accounting for the two conflicting descriptions of his arrival; again Ben Joseph and Ben David. He stated that the two dates given in Daniel 12:11-12 were to date the two arrivals at 45 year intervals [Midrash on Ruth 214 page 43B Warsaw Edition, also the lost Talmud on Daniel 9:24-27]. The ancient Talmudists knew a lot of things.

Now one thing that will inevitably happen to you when you talk to Jewish people is again, Zechariah 12 "That was not about the Messiah", "yes but Sukkah 52A says it is!"  Isaiah 52 and 53 ! "That's not about the Messiah!" I showed it to a Jewish girl once on a Kibbutz in Israel, she said this is about Jesus. Nobody twisted anything, she just read it and used common sense. Her name was Sally Brown I hope she gets saved. Anyway........

The ancient Rabbis, the Talmudists, knew that Isaiah was predicting the Messiahs appearance in Isaiah 52:14, His, the Messiah's appearance, was marred more than that of any man, and is for more than the sons of men. Sanhedrin 97B, Yalkut, vol 2 page53c and also Shemot R15-19, The Rabbis, the Talmud, repeatedly quotes Isaiah 53 as a prediction of the Messiah's appearance on earth. The Targum Yonathon, you have two main Targums in Judaism, the  Targum Onkelos, which I mentioned, and the Targum Yonathon or Jonathan, after the Babylonian captivity, most Jews didn't know Hebrew they knew Aramaic, so they translated the scriptures into Aramaic. But, they were not simply translations, they were interpretations. And it said, Who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For he grew up before him like a tender root out of dry ground, he had no stately form of majesty that we should look on him. Nor appearance that we should be attracted to him, the Messiah was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows acquainted with grief, and it goes on and on and on. Each of us has turned to his own way, but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall upon the Messiah. Although he had done no violence, nor was there any deceit in his mouth, the Lord was pleased to crush him. Putting him to grief if he would render himself as a Korban, a guilt offering, he would see his off spring, he would prolong his days in the good pleasure of his Lord would prosper in his Hand, now the Lord would prosper in his hand. As a result of the anguish of his soul, he would see it and be satisfied; by his knowledge the righteous one, my servant, would justify many and bare their iniquities. And so on. He himself bore the sin of many and interceded for the transgressors. Sanhedrin 98B, also the Midrash on Samuel the Lemburg edition, page 45A of the Lemburg edition, the Midrash on Samuel, and the Targum of the Kingdom of the Messiah.

They knew very well it was about the Messiah, The Targum Yonathon says it's exactly about the Messiah. "Oh you're just taking it and twisting it to be about Jesus, but it's not about Jesus". What most Rabbis will say is that it is about Israel and the suffering of Israel, vicariously. There are a number of problems with that. One problem is , that the same Isaiah castigates Israel repeatedly for its sin. This suffering servant had no sin. So it's simply incompatible with the context. You've got four servant songs in Isaiah, and this fourth one, Isaiah 52 and 53, is different that the others. In one sense they're right, much the same as the church is the body of Christ, Jesus is the embodiment of Israel. When you see verses like Israel my glory, Israel my first born, its midrashically eluding to Jesus. But only in that sense. It's only in a very abstract sense that it's about Israel. In some sense, the Jews... they were given up in all this, but its primary meaning, according to their own literature, is the Messiah. When they tell you it's not about the Messiah, so what about the Targum Yonathon? What about the Midrash on Samuel that says it is? "You say there's a new covenant, there's no new covenant, its the Torah! Jeremiah 31:31 says God will make a new covenant, but you're misunderstanding that. "No I'm not !" Read the Midrash on Psalm 7 page 5A of the Warsaw Edition, God will speak to the Messiah to make a new covenant. Psalm 2; Thou art my son, do homage to the son less He become angry and you perish in the way. God has no son, the Rabbis say. Now they got a big problem! If you ever want to drive an Orthodox Rabbi to early retirement in Florida, I'll tell you how to do it. Thou art my son, do homage to the son less he be angry with you. And they put this together with Psalm 110, The Lord said to My Lord by David and 2 Samuel 16:1 - Then they connected it to the suffering servant of Isaiah 53, and they said against God and His Messiah. You've got to read these thing in the Midrash on 2 Samuel 16:1 paragraph 19 of the Lemburg edition, page45. And the Midrash on Psalm 7 page 5A Warsaw Edition and also Yalkhut, Vol 2, page 90A. (You can get these things at a Yeshiva or any religious Jewish Library)

So it goes on to say then, when it connects Psalm 110 and 2 Samuel 16:1 with Isaiah 53; Against God and His Messiah. If I find the son of the King, I shall lay hold of him and crucify him with a cruel death. The Talmud says the Messiah would be crucified with a cruel death. Litslov is exactly what it says, crucify. I will crucify him, lits'lo vohtoh. Jacob predicted again that the scepter would not depart Judah nor the ruler staff from between his feet until Shiloh comes Genesis 49:10. The Babylonian Talmud states that when this occurred the sages said again, woe to us for the scepter has been taken from Judah, and the Messiah has not appeared. Rabbi Ruchman adds that the Sanhedrin members covered their heads with ashes, their bodies with sack cloth, and cried when they heard these words, and the Jerusalem Talmud dates this occasion as a little more than 40 years before the destruction of the temple, that was in 70 AD. So that they are saying that from around 30 AD the Messiah was pierced. The Jerusalem Talmud, Sanhedrin Vol 24 and the Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin Vol 37, chapter 4.

The sins of those who are hidden with thee will cause thee to be put under an iron yoke, and they will do with thee as with the calf. I take it upon me that no Israeli should perish. Am I not flesh and blood? Midrash on Jeremiah 31:8, same as Isaiah 53. All limits of time as to regards the arrival of the Messiah are past. Sanhedrin 96-99. If you go up to Preswitch in Manchester you'll see "We want Messiah now, we want the Messiah now!"

But the Talmud says he had to come already. The Talmudists noted that God has made various numbers significant in his plan. They noted there were ten names for idols and prophets, ten trials of Abraham, ten generation from Adam to Noah, and Noah to Abraham. The Avodah chapter 36. And they develop a dating system. This Mosaic dating system of the third of Israel is given in Leviticus 13-16 and they Messianicly applied it in the Talmud. Moses dated the Messiahs exit in AD33. Midrash Beresheit Rabah on Genesis page 24B of the Warsaw Edition. Their own dating system said the Messiah had to exit in 33AD.

The Talmud states the temples destruction of 70AD was predicted by Daniel 9:24-27. When you get into arguing with these Rabbis about the weeks of Daniel and what they mean, I couldn't explain it all now, we'd need a big long bible study to do that. The easiest thing to say is, Daniel 9 says the Messiah had to come and die before the second temple would be destroyed. "No it doesn't" They will tell you, well Yalkhut Vol 2, page 79B, says it does, so does Nazir 32B. The Talmud states that the destruction of the temple in 70AD was predicted by Daniel 9:24-27 - where the coming of the Messiah to be cut off was predicted to precede this destruction so the Messiah was predicted knew this! The Talmud confirms, that the stone cut without hands in Daniel 2:44-45 is again the Messiah. A stone to strike and a rock to stumble over and a snare and a trap to Jerusalem. In Isaiah 8:14 God also predicted that the leaders of Israel would reject the Messiah . Thou has become my Yeshua, the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. Psalm 118;21-22, which is the Hallel HaBa that they sang to Jesus on Palm Sunday. Moses Maimonides, Rambam the greatest Rabbi confirmed that Yeshua, the Messiah's appearance in AD 30, was Israel's greatest stumbling block. In Kings and Wars chapter 11 in the uncensored edition, they put out a censored edition now, but you can get an uncensored edition, says there has never been a greater stumblingblock then this problem of Jesus in 30 AD. For 3 and-- years the Shekinah, God's Presence, God's dwelling, abode on the Mount of Olives, waiting whether Israel would repent and calling on them. Seek ye the Lord while he may be still be found. call him while he is still here but all was in vain. After 3 --years, the Shekinah returned from the Mount Olives. Rabbi's Lamentation.

There is something called the Avodah Zarah, is one thing when Christians say they believe that Jesus did miracles, it's one thing when Christians say they believe Jesus rose from the dead, it's one thing one when Christians say they believe that Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives, but what about when people who were simply, not only not Christians, but anti-Christian, believed it?

You can read Roman historians like Sutonius and Tacitus, it's fascinating to read how Jesus was understood by pagan Rome. Even they didn't deny these things, they said it was common knowledge throughout the Roman Empire that He rose from the dead. But, the Avodat Zarah said that Jesus did miracles as no other Rabbi; His disciples healed the sick and even raised the dead in His name; and after He was crucified, He rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven from the Mount of Olives, that is in the Talmud.

Even His enemies acknowledged it. This was written by Rabbis who were trying to prevent other Jews from believing in Him. But they had to deal with the historicity of His miracles, of His disciples doing miracles, not only of His crucifixion, but of His raising from the dead and his ascending into heaven, the Talmud admits that He did it. Now when you go to an Orthodox Rabbi, he doesn't want to deal with this. But if you press him, what they'll tell you, is that Jesus knew Kabbalah. Now Kabbalah was written centuries later but they say he knew it anyway. He knew Kabalistic secrets, He knew mystical secrets. He had the Tetragrammaton, the ineffable name of Ha Shem under his tongue, under his foot and all that stuff, and that's how he did it. That's what they'll tell you.

Psalm 22 - The Rabbis will try to tell you that it doesn't say they pierced my hands and feet. My God, my God why has thou forsaken me? They gambled for his clothes and all this kind of stuff. All of it fulfilled in Matthew 27. In Hebrew, there's a difference of the letter aleph and they shorten a vav and make it into a yod. And they'll try to say that I am like a lion's paw. That it's not that they pierced my hands and feet; ka'ari, like a lion's paw. That's true, except some stuff has been changed someplace along the line. The Talmud tells us the following; In the Peshitta Rabbatai, Kiskah 36:1,2 at the time of the Messiahs creation, the Holy one Blessed be he, will tell them in detail what will be all Him. There are souls that have been put away with thee under my throne and it is their sins which will bend thee down under a yoke of iron and make thee like a calf whose eyes grow dim with suffering. So the Messiah would know he was coming to die for his people before he was born, according to the Talmud. And during the seven year period preceding the coming of the son of David, iron beams will bought and loaded upon his neck until the Messiah's body is bent low. It was of the ordeal of the son of David who wept saying, My strength is dried up like a potsherd Psalm 22:16.

But then in the Yalkut Shimoni, many dogs have encompassed me, they connected this with the book of Esther somehow, and HaSharoos, but the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me. Ka'ari - My hands and my feet, Rabbi Nehemiah says they pierced my hands and my feet. The reading of 'pierced' was accepted by ancient Rabbis, not only that, but the Peshitta Rabbitai says directly Psalm 22 is talking about the Messiah suffering and dying. Again, Isaiah 52 and 53, from the Targum Yonathon, Behold my servant the Messiah shall prosper, He shall be exalted, and great and very powerful. It says directly, repeatedly, it's about the Messiah.

Daniel 9, Negillah 3A of the Targum of the Prophets; was composed by Yonathan Ben Uziel under the guidance of Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, according to tradition. And a bat kol, a voice from heaven, came forth and said; "Who is this that's revealed my secrets?" And he further sought to reveal by Targum the inner meaning of the Hagiographa, the portion of scripture which includes Daniel. But a bat kol, a voice from heaven, went forth and said' enough, why, why should we not read Daniel 9? Why should we not read it? Because the date of the Messiah is foretold in it. And again Sukkah 52A , the Messiah being pierced, What is the cause of mourning of Zechariah 12:12? It is well according to Him who explains that the cause is the slaying of the Messiah, the son of Joseph, since that well agrees with the scriptures, and they look upon me because they have thrust him through and shall mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son. We can go on and on and on! There is not a single Messianic prophecy that I would use in witnessing to Jewish people, that I couldn't prove is not a Christian invention applying it to Jesus. The Talmud agrees for instance that Micah 5:2 Oh you Bethlehem Ephratah are by no means least in the clans of Judah, for from you going forth from eternity will be one whose existence is from eternity. The Talmud agrees this is about the Messiah who is in some way, had to be, pre-existent. Isaiah 52 and 53, Daniel 9, Targum of Micah 5:1 of the Targum Yonathon 0 says this , You oh Bethlehem Ephratah you who are too small to be numbered among the thousands of the house of Judah. from you shall come forth to me the Messiah the exercise dominion over Israel he whose name was mentioned from before in the days of creation. Oh you're just reading into Micah 5 that it doesn't say. Yeah, but I'm not reading that into it, long before Christianity came along, Jews believed it. Gen. 3:1 - I'll put enmity between you and the women all that from Gen 3:1-15. And shall be that when sons of women study the Torah and obey its injunction they will direct themselves to smite you on the head and slay you. Right from beginning they believed the Messiah had to be slain. Gen 23:5 being commented on in the Talmud by the Midrash Rabbah, Rabbi Tahnumah in the name of Rabbi Shu'el Koze'et, she hinted that the seed would arise through another source, the Messiah. The Midrash deals with Eve's naming of Seth, then they connect this with the idea of a Messiah being bruised on his heal and then bruising the serpents head. All fabrications. Gentile Christian twisting of their scriptures.

You can show very clearly that these things were understood by ancient Rabbis the same way Christians understand them. But it's like this, there's something called ECLENTICS, convictions, no one comes unless the Father draws Him. Without prayer, without holy lives that would provoke the Jews to jealousy, it's useless. We have a long way to go and God is doing something. God is doing something. We're going to see God work amongst Jewish people in the last days the way He worked amongst Jews in the Holy church. Not just thousands being saved, but tens of thousands. We're going to see whole synagogues split over the issue of Him being the Messiah.
