Out of context Christianity pt.1

How we got to where we are today?

One can only be grounded in Scripture by reading the Bible chapter by chapter, book by book and understanding the overall meaning. You cannot understand the details until the overall meaning is first understood.. Today few are taught how to read or study devotionally, or theologically. They are not grounded in the core doctrines of Christianity which has them become open to being misled.

And this continues to be repeated and compound the already exiting problem. This next generation will be even more divorced from sound Bible teaching unless we turn it around. The devil’s emissaries are about changing Gods word so it is no longer is the truth, it becomes out of context Christianity. How did we get here?

From men who became famous who were not teaching the word accurately. Some know that they have a whole new interpretation which they claim is new revelation. We have a succession of teachers that have built upon each other’s false teachings and practices. For Example, William Branham who taught new revelation from his angel whom he called Jesus (but never really knew who he was). He had word faith, mysticism, Gnosticism and a mixture of all kinds of other practices and teaching outside the Bible.

From Branham came Kenneth Hagin who copied his word faith teaching (and copied E.W. Kenyon as did Branham). From Hagin it all expanded to Kenneth Copeland and then to multiple others as the fruit of this bad tree ripened, Benny Hinn, Bill Johnson, Creflo Dollar, Fred Price, Jesse Duplantis, Jerry Savelle, and so many others … And it keeps multiplying influencing others in their errors. Just as Paul said a little leaven leavens the whole lump (1 Cor. 5:6; Gal. 5:9), leaven expands as it gets heated up and affect everything it touches.

So if there are those who accept and associate with these who teach these doctrines they are to be avoided False teachers don't take the time to see what something actually means and if they do look deeper, they don't want to accept what they find because it doesn't line up with what they want it to mean. They will not accept it because it is their own view they want it to fit in.

This is because liars lie. It is that simple. And if they are not honest with the Word of God you should understand they have an agenda, which involves YOU. They will eventually make merchandise of you. A truth teacher of the word will always have the intention to 'handle accurately the word of truth' [2 Timothy 2:15] and in no way will try 'mislead' God's people. “Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” “Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.” (1 Timothy 3:2) “He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.“ (Titus 1:9)

You notice that these teachers will rarely rebuke others in their false teaching, (only that they do not agree with them) We are in this condition because we have more teachers using the words of scripture to make things up than those teaching what it actually says. They move people away from the actual meaning, which makes you useless for Christ and his spiritual kingdom. They may use Bible words and insert them in their speaking to make it sound like it is from Scripture when it is not. This is why we are told by Scripture to test ALL things.

And when it comes to prophecy all lines are blurred. Just add the word prophetic and people sit up in their chair with open ears. I’m not just speaking of prophecy according to the Bible but a fresh prophetic word to them as an individual or a church. This and this will happen and it rarely does the memory lapse is enormous. But even with Bible prophecy all kinds of unbiblical methods are used to arrive at their wrong conclusions.

For example I recently came across a prophetic teacher who claims a multitude of dates such as the exact date history began, that Adam sinned at 33 ½ years old and says the tribulation is to occur in 2023, so the rapture occurs prior. That means we have less than 3 years. It also means he knows the time of Jesus’ return before the Tribulation occurs which is according to him 2030.

Will three years from now have this man admit he is wrong? They never do. So to stay safe we are to question teachings that sound as new revelation or deeper truths never heard of before. This does not mean that someone cannot draw from scripture a new application, but that we should be on guard and not accept it because they are well known.
