Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together What did Jesus mean when he said " I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left." Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left."Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left." And they answered and said to Him, "Where, Lord?" So He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles w ill be gathered together ." Luke 17:34-37) First lets address the concept of two men in a bed, the word men is not in the transcript. The other portion Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left." Is found in the Textus Receptus version of the Bible but not in the older transcripts. In Matt 24:37-40 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” The ones taken together are in judgment before the second coming. (Mt.13:30;Mk.13:37) Lk.17:34 is describing the second coming when Armegeddon takes place, it is not the rapture of the church. It is the Day the Son of man is revealed. At this time the armies of the world are gathered to fight Christ from rescuing Israel by his coming to earth (Joel.3:14; Zeph.2:1) - They will be slain by the lord in judgment in the valley of Megiddo. The word for eagles is actually describing a ravenous bird, like a vulture. In other words Jesus is saying there will be a great slaughter and there the birds will gather to feed on the dead bodies.
